F2P is worrying, especially on EA, but the transparency here is hopeful. Cautious optimism and believing them when they say this is the best way for them to make the game

The free to play aspect is scaring me for sure, but seeing the devs be transparent helps

hurts seeing the fact that theres no storymode, the photo missions were some of my favorite moments in gaming ever, and the f2p microtransaction route worries me too... hoping for the best

Story mode was the best thing in skate (3). It was THE reason to play the game again and again.

EA has ruined too many franchises, im really worried about the game now that it is free to play

Should definitely be able to fight people if needed😂 be really cool if everyone could have their own home in the world, actual shops to go into to buy boards, trucks, wheels, clothes etc. maybe be able to save up money to buy and build your own park maybe. Also be able to find old boards around the map. Cause the skate part is already perfect

This looks like more and more like a Skaters Republic. My microtransaction guesses: boards/components, clothing/costumes, emotes, and particle effects (like fire trails behind the board as you move).

"Reputation" within the environments/plazas/parks would be great too. Similar to how security guards or pedestrians would hit you back after bugging them, but having the NPC recognize you from your actions and behavior somehow would be cool.

So what about the people who are offline and don't have Internet to play it online can u still play because the old skate allows you to play offline story by yourself

Everything about his is how game development should be. The transparency to the public, the candid communication, showing the current stage of the game, not committing to unreasonable deadlines, and planning to work with feedback from the players are all refreshing changes from what, unfortunately, has become the norm. Free to play. Published by EA. There won't be a sequel. Yeah, this has "service game" written all over it that will be riddled with microtransactions and will probably come out half-baked.

F2P makes me nervous. F2P offen means = muliplayer focused, online Hubs and no offline contest and Story. Yeah online gameplay is and was great, but not what skate was all about for me

I'm disappointed with the lack of focus on custom parks feature, Custom parts was a big part of skate 3 and being able to build PRIVATE custom parts with tons of things and unlimited merging would be fantastic.

Back on skate 3 a lot of cool cosmetic was easy to get and free. With this game goin to F2P. Dont even think you guys goin to have stylish costumes and board without spending at least 100 $ cash.

Need missions/story line to do! Nothing was better than grinding the story line, so fun

Not sure how I’m feeling about f2p and cross platform man. Hopefully we’re not forced to be in game with online players without the option to play in a solo session.

The amount of times they emphasize feedback and constant updates immediately makes me assume the game will be unfinished/broken/lacking at launch. Hope im wrong :) but doubt it

Wish more studios did this early dev stuff... its always so cool to see early dev footage and having open contact with the team about it. Seeing the game get polished over time and showcasing hilarious bugs makes it so open. No feelings of being left in the dark til weeks before launch.

After the leak it was smart to release this

it would be nice if you made a narative driven campagin mode! but not the type like in skate 2 and 3 but with a down to earth story about a grup of kids bonding through skating.

Very afraid of micro transactions. Skate 3 only had DLC since it was near the beginning of micro transactions and DLC were introduced. Hopefully they do it right

Catch mechanics and manual skate gear change, like having to manually change the wheels. Also board breaking and being capable of sanding the board into custom shapes

Hard to imagine a free to play Skate game working for me. How about instead you keep the MMO-style Skate game separate from the main franchise. Give the people what they want: a proper modern version of the beloved game we all know. After that, feel free to explore this F2P model. But...don't do us like this after waiting 12 years....

Is it me. Or did they have a hard time not looking at the script? Free to play is fine. As long as the micro transactions aren’t egregious. And everyone knows what that is and looks like. It just comes down to how much EA has their hands in it. Bc it’s the easiest thing in the world to make sure micro transactions don’t effect gameplay. Anyway. Why do they do this. It’s so forced and awkward. Why not just have a regular talk about the game. U should know it inside and out. Instead of this clearly rehearsed performance.
