Loving the new board. Loved that double flip too. What you said about your board and how it doest define your skating is very true. I went up from 8 to 8.25. I thought it would be bad but it worked out perfectly.
Thanks, double flips are fun. I know they aren't a really popular trick but I like them. As for deck sizes, I think it just comes down to what you are used to. When I first started I learnt on a 7.75 so going back to it was never going to be that hard.
7.75 is my size. I’m skating them with standard independent trucks and I like that the trucks neutralize the light weight of the board. My shoe size is an 8 and I find that I personally have enough landing room on the board for my tricks.
I am 13 my size is 8 and i skate 8.5, i feel like the larger it is its easier to do tricks and keep the tricks under control. my first board was a 7.5 about a 1 ½ it was way too small. I have enjoi trucks and wheels they were kinda budget wheels but i can skate better with the 8.5 than 7.75 baker deck.
so im 14 and want to get into skating, i have some nice independant truck co trucks that wuld be perfect for a 7.75 board, shold i go with 7.75 or sell the trucks and get a 8.0 complete?
Thanks! I wanted to buy a 7.75 but than I saw all these videos on youtube where people say it is too small. Now I feel encouraged to go for the 7.75 without the need to worry much.
It takes a bit of an adjustment but I ended up comfortable with it. If it helps I have size 8 feet and I'm 5ft 8. So someone tall with big feet might have problems. I'm glad the video helped you.
Considering it was your first session on it, you did really well. The double kickflip at the end was sick! 7.75 proved to be ok for you as well as the 8 so why not stick to it. Good video Adam! 👊🏼
@@freehammerskateboarding488 yeah man I got to admit when you said about it whne we first met you was stuck on 8.25 but you was leaning towards 8.3 love that you was on 7.7 for this dude lengendary graphic aswel 🔥👊
I had this exact same deck a 7.75 toy machine with the blue wood grain on the bottom like maybe 12 years ago this is a trip. Solid deck I think it actually lasted a while which back then was a month plus a few days solid deck
@@freehammerskateboarding488 Yeah true I was riding my friends 7.75 but it felt small as I wear size 12 shoe lol. I’m just getting back into skating tho nothing too advanced yet
i used to ride 9.89" board in the early 90s then the football/egg shape era bigpants small wheels, then the toothpick 7.5" , then the 8.25-8.5"..and now i'm back on a eggshape/football shape again..7.5" was the smallest i've ridden.
Skating a 7.75 is perfect for beginners imo. You're able to easily monkey grip the board with your feet (curl your rear foot toes on the edge). You get that "one with the board feeling" very quickly. Eventually I think most skaters should move up to 8.25 or 8.38
8.0 is the smallest I have skated and that was just one session. I need to give it another go. It is fully set up Salvation. 8.25 is my comfort zone but for the last 6 months I have skated 8.75 and 8.5. I am going back down soon. (Kind of, I have an 8.75 and an 8.4 oto set up as well). I am riding the Grind king disruptors right now in am 8.5. love it for grinding. However, I have not been able to heelflip this board at all. Very strange. Enjoyed the video. It got me thinking Stay rad Sir.
I had my second session on this set up today. I'm liking the 7.75 even more now. Certain tricks such as nollie treflips have felt so good on it. As for the trucks they broke in so quick it's crazy. Oh and for me a Heelflip on anything bigger than an 8.25 is really hard. Probably couldn't do it on an 8.5. I'm totally sticking to thin boards now. Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Sick double flip bro! Also, got any advice on advice on tre flips (foot position and way of scooping)? We seem to have the same jump height and body size but you make the board flip so effortlessly. I can´t for the life of me scoop with the same power as you.
I put my back foot in the pocket of the tail on Treflips. Front foot doesn't matter as much. As for the scoot it's kind of a diagonal scoot, a little bit forward and also to the side. Thanks for the comment on double flips.
I haven't skated in 8 years (I'm 28 and skated for about 9 years before stopping) but I'm really looking at getting back into it. I used to skate decks from size 7.63-7.87. But of course now everyone skates 8 and up. So I'm not sure what size I should get..
im actually the same size as you. i weigh 130lb, 5'7 with a size 8 shoe. I'm currently riding a 7.25 and its only 29" long but i love it. i use it on the street/ stairs/drops/bowl... considering getting a 7.5 or 7.75 though? what would you recommend? i love how light the board is. 8" feels like a boat to me and its super heavy.
For me 7.5 would probably be pretty hard to skate. 7.75 and 8 both work for me. Biggest than 8 and I find it hard though. Oh and we are around the same height too but I'm way heavier. Maybe try an 8 inch with light trucks if you want to experiment.
I love 7.75 my first board size and I shoulda stuck with it I bet I woulda progressed much faster iv tryed all the way up to 8.75 but I love a small light board I just bought 2 foundation decks
US or UK size? Miraculously I can wear tge Shoes as marked US 6 with a mild friction whilst my foot round off to the 10" in Imperial measurement whilst in metric I have exactly nominal to the 25 cm almost 10" long
Hi I want to play skateboard, but I don't know how to choose the size. Can you give me some suggestions? should I buy size 8 or 7.75 as a total beginner? my shoes size is 8.5 (US).
You might end up toe dragging more often. The same pros and cons would still apply I would say. Give it a go it may work out for you. I would be interested to see how you get on.
US or UK size? Miraculously I can wear the Shoes as marked US 6 with a mild friction whilst my foot round off to the 10" in Imperial measurement whilst in Metric I have exactly nominal to the 25 cm in length almost 10" long with only tapered my foot with extremely wide robust cavity as aesthetically proportionate as though to find its exact size of shoes to corresponded my own shape were some narrow footed have made their US 9 size without friction trouble whilst me round off to the US 9 to cope with much robust response with having catastrophic under the lengthly shortage thus means funny articulations from my mathematical chapters I got lucky to take a US 8 without getting trouble on rubost articulations even to take US 7 or US 7.5 as long as to articulated onto the rubost geometry
i skate a 7.75 and im fat but my feet small so yeh it aint that destroyed though but wouldnt recommend riding it if ur like big and fat like me but idk i think it depends on the quality of the baord lol
