I get all this but now say the box on top of the cylinder are actually two different parts and you only want to select the box in order to move it for example. The triple click selects both objects. How do you "disconnect: the two in order to only select the box?
@@jwillis3528 I'm here years after both of you looking for this answer. As I'm learning sketchup now, this is the most frustrating thing about it, not being able to easily highlight an entire object independently because its touching another object
Also why I cam here. I need to copy something after I butted it up against something else and now I can't move it away or select it without picking every single face individually! Please help!
Hi. Good video, thanks. Is there a way to select just the entire 3D square / cube on top of the cylinder (so it can be separated from the cylinder) without also selecting the cylinder underneath?
This is my frustration. I have a very complicated building and lots of corners touch but are not parts. I found out I was off a couple feet on the height on one part and want to go back and correct it with out having to pick out all the parts of one section separately. Someone please let us know if you figure it out. (as you are building you can group things but that does not help me as I am learning and did not do that)
Great video but you said "right to left" four times. each time you said it, you dragged the cursor from left to right. Was kind of confusing until I re-watched the video.
Hi Aid in. I imported a dxf file into sketchup and when I use the line tool from one side to the other of the object, it doesn't change colour or indicate it has been affected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It seems as though you don't know your right from left. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h71TIx8O8gU.html You are saying fright to left but making the window left to right
DUH! This is what we figure out just bu diving into the program. What if I want to separate the box from that round object. PLEASE GO OVER SIMPLE EDITING WHEN SELECTING SOMETHING!
