Flying a Phenom 100 to EU from Greenland to Iceland in this video. Stay Tuned for part 3. Follow me on Instagram @Gear_Down PIC Kyle on instagram @Rannachank
That was a tight turn on departure. Scary….but at least it was light out. Imagine low viz or night departure? Wowza! That approach into Iceland…..textbook. Great work on the videos…..keep it coming!
Thank you so much man! We were in absolute disbelief when they told us that is how they expected us to depart, but it was either that, or takeoff with a tail end that exceeded the limitations on the phenom!
As they say in Mexico, you my friend, have big cajones. A small jet across the Atlantic is not for the faint of heart. Keep up the awesome vids. Can't wait to see you back in the left seat. Regards from HB.
Sliding into their DMs like the phenom back-taxiing on runway 6. Its funny because when I saw your last video, i figured you were keeping the N number and the selcal placards covered for obvious reasons. Didn't even cross my mind that the phenom isn't built for this mission type until you talked about why you stopped at 270. Great series.
Kept this one to watch when I had some spare time to enjoy. Another awesome Video. Thanks for taking us along, and I'm sure you enjoyed that well earned Vodka 🤙
@GearDown I love the content you’re putting out. I have worked in private aviation for 10 years but not as a pilot. I dropped everything to become a pilot and this is exactly the type of flying I want to end up doing! Keep doing what you do!
Another great video! I like the longer format. What do you think about a few more cockpit cameras with better fed in audio and capturing more of the procedures like max and stevo? you'll get to 100k in no time. fly safe and keep up the good work.
Always working on improving… problem is I’m an ACTUAL working pilot, bringing 5 cameras isn’t always practical especially in the Phenom 100. Upcoming videos have more angles.
Amazing videos with even better content. Thanks for the ride and pics. What effects does the cold have on having the plane ready to go. Next videos, has we say in Spanish, Vamanos! "Let's Go"
FYI: Goose Bay was a joint military facility between Canada and the Brits dating back to WW2, subsequently it became a refueling stop in the early days of trans atlantic passenger flights, I saw the Concorde doing flight testing there in 1976! Literally hundreds of USAAF B-17 and Dakotas transited through Goose Bay to the UK during WW2!
Greetings from Iceland. That vodka is named Loki like the god from Asgard, it is rather tasty like most alcohol that comes from Iceland. Glad to see you enjoyed your time in Iceland, if you ever need any help in navigating the nightlife in Iceland hit me up.
Can you see the north pole hole from greenland? Can you fly over the north pole and take pictures for us ? Admiral Richard E. Byrd claims there is a large hole leading inside the earth from the North pole and that millions of people live inside the earth. Love your videos dude !! Agartha is the inner earth world
Great Video Captain, I love the way you switch the cameras so that we can experience all the views, it cant get better than this ! cant wait for part 3 xD
Hey:) Nice video, One question: How much in delay are your videos because on Flightradar 24 the airplane is alrdy back in the US. So Im just wondering,
Can you make a video on how you would go about pilot training and getting your CPL and Multi-engine instrument rating with all the knowledge and experience you have now? Would you be going about it on a different pathway? Thanks.
Cool video. Would have been educational to hear the whole takeoff briefing. If you had lost the left engine after V1, what's the maximum bank angle you could maintain on the left turnout while still holding V2? Isn't V2 around 130 knots? You'd want a turn radius not more than about 2,500 feet to miss the hill to the NW and that would require about a 30 degree angle of bank. I hope that's not too much bank turning into the dead engine to maintain control.
@@gear_down We was manned 24/7 back then. Often used as enroute alternates/ETOPS. And we had to make a special weather obs every 3 hours. So we could get a couple of hrs in between those wx obs.
I'm not sure if you'll read that but I'm actually wondering why did you have to do this tight turn after take-off from Narsarsuaq? I mean, there's a nice valley in front of RWY06, so I'm not sure why you couldn't climb along it to OCA and then resume navigation? Did you have a limited climb performance or something like that? I'm genuinely curious.

Hmmmm I guess the left turn pilot’s discretion clearance was a good hint and might have saved you a little bit of stress. You got away with it but not smart my friend!
@@gear_down yea exactly…left turn pilots discretion…why did you turn literally as you rotated… perhaps leave it a little later before the turn? Would have perhaps saved you the GPWS terrain warning ?
@@gear_down Metroliner and King Air 200. The approaches are pretty rad in some places that will bring you in pretty close to the side of the mountains as the airports sit in valleys.
