FLY WITH US ON THE GULFSTREAM G-IV SP FROM KSJC TO KFAT VIDEOS HAVE BEEN EDITED FOR CONTENT AND TIME. ALL CHECKLISTS AND PROCEDURES COMPLETED. THIS VIDEO IS NOT MEANT TO BE CONSTRUED AS FLIGHT INSTRUCTION IN ANY FORM
@@badbilly1083 the passengers don’t own the aircraft nor are they responsible for the overall professionalism that owners still want to exude so a swing and a miss by your guessing and hypotheses.
No other channels doing it like you, congratulations on 30k! Looking forward to starting my aviation journey over the next few years and you’re keeping me motivated!
Lmao there’s no requirement for than. Also I’m an A&P I/A I can MEL any item that is MEL’able and return A/C to service. I do not film anything maintenance or logbook related on the gulfstream. Good looking out bud. Nice try, but try again.
Your missing the point. Its happened to me and other. Just by being aware as PIC you have to make a log entry, and the MEL it. According to the feds, you are accepting an aircraft with a known decect that has no referance anywhere, except in you head. That will not fly. FYI ATP A&P CFII AGI Types in 5 aicrafts, glider and seaplane. 30K plus hours, so big deal.@@gear_down
Congratulations on the subs.. the best aviation channel I watch. Do you ever get worried about the near misses due to ATC being overworked or the pilots not paying attention to ATC?
The first and best explanation of screen flickering ever, I think you have so many followers because you come across as a real person, I love your videos, also knew you wouldn’t keep that piper
Got my private certificate out of Fresno this last June. I thought it was neat to see familiar scenery on RU-vid through the cockpit of a gulf stream. Loved the video! Keep up the great content. Audio through the headset might be something to consider in the future.
This was great. Learning a lot from your channel. Best aviation niche channel in my OP. Had several career options lined up but I’ve switched gears and am pursuing the contracting- didn’t know anything about it until seeing your vids. Thank you🙏
Hell yeah man i got the same air freshener😂😂 love this style of content, keep it up man super interesting stuff.. also was wondering is the speed you select after takeoff Vy or just trying to remain below the speed limit?
Thank you, GEAR DOWN, your videos are awesome, I'm an ex military guy that's been contemplating the idea of becoming a private pilot, your videos are inspiring, brother. Please keep them coming. Thank you. 👍
Short trip busy cockpit , dump the head cam, you definitely have your head on a swivel 🤪🤪 plus views where to high. Otherwise a great video maybe try a chest cam. 😊
Sick video as always man. Channels like yours really help keep dudes like me motivated while acquiring ratings. My commercial checkride is this coming Tuesday and then I'm instantly starting commercial multi checkride prep after that. Stay killing it!
@@gear_down ah ok that makes sense. I'm kinda curious though if recording at the same fps would stop the flickering. If you had a spare camera having the pfd/mfd in a shot being recorded at 30fps would give you another angle to cut to when editing 😁
Quick tip on the CRT displays flickering in the video. It's a bit of work, but, take each clip in your timeline in your editing software and put one above the other (so they are both displaying on the screen at the same time). Offset the top video by ONE frame, then set the opacity of both clips to 50%. The flicker should then disappear. The one frame offset should show the whole screen all the time, instead of flickering. I used to work on a couple short films in college and we did this all the time to stop flickering of Fluorescent lights in our shots. Again, it s a lot of tedious work in editing, especially with a lot of clips. but it works. BTW, I'm currently a commercial Cirrus SR22 pilot. Not as cool as the Gulfstreams, but at least it's a job! Congrats on the 30k!
Great content, with visualization directly from your vantage point. Congratulations on the 30k subscribers. Thank you for doing the channel, and good luck to everyone going through the tropical storm.
Many other content creators have solved the rame rate flickering. You need to do so also. It can cause seizures and great discomfort to many, ncluding me. I realy waned to watch but sorry, I can't. Be well.
Try matching the refresh rate of the GoPro to the screens. Even better would be filming in 24fps and adding a ND Filter to the lens of the GoPro so the picture doesn’t become to bright. Thank me later
@@gear_downSorry sir…not to bust your chops but the checklist reveals otherwise. Proper procedure is to shut down, bleed pressure, remove gust lock then restart. If the sim instructors are allowing this, then all I can say is they are not GIV guys. Respectfully submitted, give it some consideration. Easy enough to follow the checklist isn’t it rather than reinvent.
Great video might be a good idea to wear the go pro around your chest for a better cockpit view for us viewers but might make editing tedious because the head mounted go pro is nice for overhead panel so could be a bit tricky and time consuming to edit footage between both angles ….
Ohhh i understand what you mean not sure how some of the others do it but they seem to have a pretty good POV which allows better view of the cockpit I’ll look into it and see if there’s any options!
Ohh that makes sense, only thing could be giving it a slight angle if the mount allows.either way just found out the channel and subscribed keep up the great videos!!! These longer style vidoes are really nice definitely will be on the lookout for more content
Head mounted Go-Pro is good but it is too high up. Most of what I am seeing is your over head light and air nozzle. Figure out a way to get it lower and it will be great.
People are hungry for a no nonsense cool corporate content. I enjoy watching anyone that masters their craft. Like any job you want to excel at learn all aspects inside and out and be the Swiss Army knife people can call that can handle anything and speak with experience and knowledge and to have that and still be young enough to enjoy the good life it can bring at your age is an accomplishment. Keep up the good work and content man. The sky is the limit right? Heh. Safe travels and thanks for putting out cool videos. Cars and Aviation are my two favorites so I’m always checking out your new content. I appreciate you keeping it fresh and real. Keep up the good work! Edit: If I could offer one suggestion on your POV cam if possible, its pretty high up in the cockpit and a good of the left map light. Even if the map light could be rotated out of the way It’d help some. I for one enjoy watching the landing approach, seeing the runway from a distance, watching the PAPI with the pilot and enjoy seeing these stellar butter landings. It’s cool to be able to see all of that instead of the map light. Just a thought. Thank you for the POV cam and trying something new!
I’m 36 working as an estimator in the trades in Alaska and making mid $100k. Is it too late for me to switch? My fear is that my family can’t take a pay cut during that switch.
Awesome video Gear Down! Quick question: When should I start networking? Currently, I have around 25 hours 😅 There is a hangar at my home airport that has an amazing G450-X, as long with a ton of hangars with Citations and Challengers. I just wanted to ask you when I should start talking to the Pilots and the flight department managers, and how get my name out there. Keep up the awesome videos!
Your channel rocks. Love your out front attitude and take me as I am style, seriously refreshing with so much insight and highly immersive videos, just wish you had time to make more!, your my second go to channel my first being Mike Patey. Glad to here your selling the Cherokee, that plane sucks! ever thought about a Trinidad TB21 TC ? now that is a great plane!!, cheers for now.
What’s up! Love the content. Can you tell me what the 4 knobs with the orange digits in middle of the display do? You seem to be constantly adjusting them. Thanks! 🤙🏻
I enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing them! On the G4 flicker -- if the screens are 30fps, would recording at 4k 24fps work to stop the flicker? Hoping it will!
