Let’s gooo! Pretty awesome day back in honeycomb canyon! Need to explore this area more for sure but the snow was creamy, the mountains were beautiful, and the stoke was high!
This was a great day to be up there! I was wondering when I'd see myself in one of your BCC/LCC vids -- you got me on cam at 6:30. I think it was also you who complimented by Zipline gogs as I was loading Summit for my next lap...it just didn't register at the time! I was too deep into my day, in the best way. :)
Been there twice and never have been unhappy in any way, such a peaceful yet adventurous place- Just found a few of your vids and like how you are doing them- Very enjoyable to watch, thanks for sharing your passion...
If there is anything better than waking up with a Lucas video ready to go, I haven't found it. Thanks for another great video and thanks for bringing us along for the ride!
Solitude is cool place sort of hidden gem. At Christmas a few years back, it was dumping i think something like 18 inches overnight and a couple of feet over the week and of course 0 lines! Probably one of the best Christmas pow days i have had
Let's go!!! I still thought that the skiing was sick, even from the very first run when you showed your roots in park and on moguls. Hope your back feels better soon!
Maybe you didn’t feel the best on the hill but your videography and editing are always on point. I used to be in the video/editing world so I know the work you do to set up your shots and do your editing. Enjoyed it again. Thanks.
pnw getting DUMPED on right now. crystal mountain has the almost everything open in NOVEMBER which is mind blowing. you definitely gotta get up here and hike the king for some crazy pow at some point this season
Hey Lucas, me and my brother have skied a lot in Vail-Breck-Keyston area the last few years. Skiing park city for the first time week before Christmas and wanted to see if you have any tips for us (best runs, best areas, etc)
Your vids always get my heart yearning to go skiing. I was hoping to go this week, but my "local" resort is closed until Fri because they are making snow. Ive only skied in the Midwest, but I'm hoping to go skiing out west for the first time this winter!
Like that you are honest and true to yourself!Life remains abundant and on an even keel for those who are able to occupy that space. Please remember that a positive flow will come naturally for one who has the ability to live authentically in the moment. It does not require a performance. So, no apologies are necessary. Deer Valley was a moment in the past and today’s awesome video also will be.
I just rewatched this vid to see the rip through the moguls. That's mainly what I skied way back when I was in my twenties. You said, "I didn't bring my A game today and didn't find the groove ... but we need those sorts of days, so we DO experience our best days". (paraphrasing) -Now, that's a positive vibe coming from a man who's honestly wise beyond his years.
I don’t think you had a bad day at all Lucas. That’s just what honeycomb is… amazing when it’s great (18+ inches of powder), and when you don’t have deep powder, it’s a coin flip of moguls and choppy snow. Looked like you ripped it to me and got it pretty good. Honeycomb is Tons of traverse though for a small reward, and if you ski yourself down the wrong part, punishment.
Dude can you tell the snow gods to take some of that snow you’re getting in Utah and push it to Colorado? Have fun getting dumped on tonight. We are only getting a couple inches at most from that storm.
Dude, get a drone that can follow you. That way you will get amazing video clips, plus you would be able to properly use your upper body while skiing. The way you are skiing right now is difficult, not using your upper body almost at all.
Nice work! I can show you ways to cut your 3 chair ride into HC into 1 good scary one, or 2 chair rides to Here Be Dragons, or a nice sidestep to the GSpot off the Summit North gate. your vids are inspiring!
Solitude has some good lines. It needs to have much coverage for them to be viable but I certainly enjoyed my time there. Having said that, it's still my least favorite resort in the wasatch...
Was at Solitude one time about 12-14 years ago. Honeycomb is amazing. Went with a local that knew all the best lines. Fresh snow all day long. After Jackson, one of my favorite places. You destroyed that mogul field at the beginning just like Candide would.
The successes and achievements and congratulations are all very well deserved. Your passion for this is undeniable and I am glad the rest of the world is finally starting to get a chance to see how hard you work and how much heart you put into this.
Hey Lucas, just wondering if you have the app slopes on your phone. If so you should drop your username so the fans can friend you and compete with u this season.
I was at Solitude too yesterday but looks like I missed you. So fun to see such good video of it though! If you plan to be there 5+ more days, it's worth buying a weekday parking pass. The canyon was closed because a car turned over on the side of the road. Keep up the stoke!
Lucas! Your videos are so inspiring! You are a legend and teaching this community about hard work, quality ski etiquette and how to be a general decent human. Loving your channel and your vibe man!
Ian thank you man. That means a lot to me. I’m stoked to be able to share my passion with everyone and tell a story around skiing each day. Appreciate you.
Dude, can't believe the Stoke Daddy almost had his season ended! I will say Honeycomb looked pretty exciting especially those glades. I can't wait to hit my first glades
As much as I appreciate those big mountain, Backcountry lines, so cinematic and beautiful, end of the day, 95% of us never leave the resort area. That's why I love this type of content. Now can you find some night skiing...
Quick FYI on parking: I haven't been to Solitude yet but I was doing some research for it. Apparently you can park at some park and rides at the base of the canyon and take a free bus up to Solitude if you have an ikon pass. (Info is on the solitude website) It's not the most ideal for the van lifers who come back for lunch and such, but just thought I'd share it.
As always thank you for the video. Can't think of much better than a midweek day back in Honeycomb. Definitely giving me the motivation for some early skin laps up here in MT tomorrow.
Really like your content. Such good content, its just a shame ski dreamers like me aren't more common and your channel isn't bigger. But your viewers love you I can assure you that. We appreciate it.
i guess if i want to find snow i am going to have to know where you are going to go skiing.. i gotta give those jjs some credit.. they are floating.. i don't see them sinking at all..
Let’s gooooo!! You deserve any and all opportunities with the amount of hard work you have done the past few years. Congrats and hope theres more to come 👍🏼
My only complaint about the Honeycomb bowl is that it was not easy to lap quickly. You end up needing to take the Honeycomb return lift and I was never able to get directly to the Apex lift from there. Maybe it was because I was not too familiar with the mountain, but felt like lots of filler runs in between the ones I wanted.
The snow looks better than when I was there last February. Nice skiing Lucas. I think its safer if you dont use your pole straps while skiing in the trees...... better to have your hands free if your pole strap catches a branch, or if you fall into a tree well. After doing both of those things I never use my staps anymore.
Whatcha confused about man? Just shooting two cameras at once so I had a few different angles to work with. I used the pole cam footage later in the video
@@LucasCatania17 ahh didn't realize it was used later. I was just looking at the pole cam and was thinking: "Sweet Setup, but is it even recording?" Lol
Solitude is always a tough mountain to lap the good stuff. Sorry you had an off day but it was another quality watch for us 😊. Damn what an incredible season it’s going to be! As always, thank you!
Hope you're feeling better today man. This was another great one and I can't wait for the big announcement! Very exciting to see your hard work continue to be recognized and rewarded. Much more goodness to come! Congrats!!
I feel like the quality of these videos is so underrated. Videoing yourself and getting some of these shots is insane. Also, your energy and attitude is always so positive and uplifting.
@@LucasCatania17 nah my wife and I enjoy that part actually. Pretty sure I started eating Kodiak Flapjack cups after seeing it in one of your vids last year.
Been in honeycomb Canyon many times And yes it a little bit is a pain in the butt to get to If you're trying to lap it. But if you stay to high traverses and work out farther and farther it's got some really special terrain. My favorite is off summit express looking up at the mountain skier left Which has some really nasty fun tree chutes...cheers IPA time...Thanks!!!!!!
