My partner and I have decided it will be faster for me to come in country on a work visa I’ve got 37 years in the tourist industry I was just granted a visitors visa I am coming home on October 5 and I will be spending the five weeks with my partner and if I happen to accidentally talk to anyone about work or what their hiring requirements might be it happens best of luck to everyone even being able to go back on a visitors visa is better than the last 2 1/2 damn years
Hi Chris. I would like to ask something regarding the application fees for 491 visa. Is it possible to initially apply for the main applicant and then apply for the family members later after the main applicant has already moved to Australia
HI Rushi, As long as you meet the requirement of 491 nomination, you can lodge an EOI and state nomination (or sometimes ROI before state nomination) to get an invitation letter to apply for 491 visa. The time that you get the invitation is the key, if it is before the expiry date of a student visa, you can apply for 491 visa straight away and there is no need to apply for 485 visa. Hope this helps. If you would like to seek more advice, please book an appointment here: www.workvisalawyers.com.au/arrange-an-appointment.html Thanks Chris
Hi Pardeep, All states are currently awaiting for the allocations confirmation from the Federal Government to be able to open their skilled migration program. we currently have WA and Tasmania announcing their state nomination requirement. I graduated from Sydney in 2017 with BBA and worked 1 years as an accountant as well. I left Australia in 2019 and currently live in Nepal, so can I still apply for this sub class 491 in 2022? I currently have applied for 189 and 190 with 90 and 90+5 points respectively. I am 30 years old and I have 90/90 on PTE so 20 points towards my application as well.
Hi Jay, You may try lodging an ROI for 491 to see if there is any chance for you. It is worth trying it. If you need more advice, please book an appointment here: www.workvisalawyers.com.au/arrange-an-appointment.html Thanks Chris

Thank you so much for valuable information Chris, I am working in UAE from last 2 years in district cooling HVAC sector so in which state should I apply for 491
Hi Chris First of all, the video has excellent information. My question is, with a 491 visa, can we live in a city and work from home for a company situated in a regional area ? For ex: live in Sydney and work from home for a company in Adelaide (or other regional area) ?
Hi there! Thank you for watching the video. The process usually takes 6 months for 75% of all the visas application, and 8 months for 90% of all the visa applications.

Hi Chris.. Very informative video. Once we get a 491 visa, can we work in any regional area or will we be restricted only to state from which we got the invitation from ?

Hi Chris. I have a dilemma that I would like your advice on. I have booked a holiday for 2 weeks at the end of this year, but I'm now considering applying for the 491 visa now (This April 2023). I'm a British citizen, and I am 34 years old. The immigration website states that the processing time for the 491 visa is 17 months to 36 months. However I'm considering applying for the visa now but hoping I can apply for the 417 subclass visa in Jan 2024 when i turn 35 as the processing time is a lot quicker and I'll be able to look for jobs in all states and territories. Do you think I can apply for both visas, or is it best to decide what visa option I should go for after my holiday visit ends in Jan? I look forward to your reply. Thanks
Dude, they have changed the age requirements for working holiday visas 18-35 years (after 1st July 2024). You could potentially get a WHV for a year and extend to 2nd year. Applying for 491 might be easier and cheaper when you are in Australia. Plus, there are other visa options for you. 491 available to 44 years - Once you hit 45 without being sponsored by a regional state you can't get a work path towards permanent residency. You have time and options mate.
Hi there, for the 491 visa can I work for a company based in Sydney while working and living regional area? Or the company needs to be in the regional area? Thanks
Hello I received an invitation to apply for this visa, I submitted and it is processing nie. It is said initial assessment, the officer didn't ask for more documents. The DHA said it will be prioritizing in skilled visas. But a week I saw changes in the processing time for 491 visa from 12 months or 30! Can it change again to first time or will it process individually if I already applied for old time processing
Hi Mary, Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, we cannot tell anything about the processing for individual application. We hope that you will get it granted soon Thanks WVL

The benefits of 491 visa is useful only when Australian govt releases the new rules and open the quota for 2022-23. They have closed it around April in SA and we are in August now and there is no update available on it. This is so frustrating. When it comes to students and money Australian govt is all active but when it comes to skilled visas that's close almost for 6-7 months all year around. Australian govt should straightforward announce that they are no more interested in giving any skilled visas and want student visas only so people would be able to atleast make up their minds if they should come here or not
@@pie987low you mean what I have said above is true or not? Well I live here and work in International education sector as well and I can confirm that this is the situation in SA
