The defense didn’t hate him they just felt like he was coddled and they felt the super bowl loss was an indicator of that because they felt like Pete Carrol called a pass to spite Marshawn Lynch and praise Wilson. You can tell that’s the reason cause Earl Thomas is still friends with Wilson and Kam Chancellor is too. The only people that really had resentment were Bennett and Sherman. Plus the defense that Seattle has now loves Wilson and embrace him as family or friends

I don't agree because Cam's already dug himself a grave by winning the MVP and starting the dab thing. He's going to be hated no matter what he does. So don't waste your energy trying to please people or make them feel more comfortable by putting on a fake face after a tough loss to get through a press conference. The only way he can fix his public perception at this point is by winning.

The reason people hated him before is because they saw what a showboater he was beforehand. That and even when they won, if something happened he didn't like he'd complain about it. (Ripping up other team banners, getting in players faces when he scores, etc) Nobody hates him for his team losing because most know he's a talented player. The fact is he has a massive ego that he needs to feed and when that doesn't happen baby Cam pops out of the woods and makes a scene nobody wants to see.

Just watched the debate on first take withe the same topic, It really sucks without Skip because it feels like they have to disagree on everything that each other is saying. Max Kellerman made a strong point that Cam has not matured since the super bowl, having to him handling the press like a leader and face of the NFL instead of an arrogant person. Stephen A Smith, came into Cam's defense just because the team is 1-5 and they dont have the same team as last season, giving him the right to act how he acted with no strong point. That shows seems to be very sloppy nowadays. Shannon is an educated professional football player and say what you want about Skip, his resume is very impressive and is an amazing analyst.

Heisman trophy SEC Champion National championship MVP NFL Rookie of the year NFL Offensive rookie of the year Pro Bowl NFL MVP NFL Offensive player of the year Cam Newton have a chance to be a great QB, a Hall of Fame player, and do things no other QB has ever done with his gifted body (Lebron type). But he needs to grow up and man up. As soon as he grows up, the sooner the Panthers have a chance to win Superbowl(s)

In my honest opinion Cam should just do what Beastmode did and say "I'm here so I won't get fined" after every question. The only reason Cam is getting ripped by the media is because when he wins it's all rainbows and sunshine.(even if they played bad). But as soon as it's an L, he wants to cross his arms and act like a child. If he acted more mature and less arrogant when they win, he wouldn't face so much criticism when they lose.

Big fan of Cam, but yeah, Shannon is right. Leaders have to be the emotional center of the team. Can't be whoridin' after wins and monotone after losses. There's a place to be in there. He's the QB...the franchise. I'm glad that winning matters...that's awesome. But handling defeat is part of being a winner and ultimately a champion.

I blame the carolina panthers GM because there was no need to let go of josh norman like that...and skip and shannon need to realise the panthers had the number 1 offense and number 6 ranked defense...this season they are ranked top 10 offense and 26th defense...that is all down to the carolina panthers GM being arrogant thinking this team can go on another super bowl run without its main defensive players from last season....I dont condone came for leaving like that but he has to feel let down by the organization for putting the panthers in this position

Drew Brees has a WAY worse defense and has had it for just about his whole career. Do you see him throwing fits? Rodgers isn't playing with a great defense either, is he throwing fits? Ben isn't throwing fits because of his defense. I don't care how bad your defense is, as a QB for a team its your job to set a tone and to be a leader. He is doing no such thing and its hurting his team. On top of that, Cam has been playing some of the worst football of his career, you gonna blame his interceptions and terrible completion % in games on his defense too?

I like Shannon but i disagree to a certain extent. He compared him to Tom Brady, but Brady doesn't get attacked like Cam does. Cam could have responded better but the saying goes, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it all. His team is 1-5 and he isn't completely the blame. He is not getting help. Ask those questions to his GM and coaching staff. The media wants Cam to react this way for a story. C'mon.

Cam is arrogant when he wins, its clear we all know that. At the same time tho.....If his team is constantly losing and he isn't necessarily the blame....You cant be mad at him keeping it 100. Id rather him walk off and say nothing than him throw his teammates and coaches under the bus. Give the guy a break. He loss the SB. Came back and week 1 loss against the team that embarrassed him and is now 1-5. The frustration in him im sure his crazy because they are not looking at the team, they are looking at him. He has a right to be angry. He could have handled the press better but like i said, id rather him say nothing at all than something he might regret.

I'm with Shannon on this one. If a woman that I like isn't into me, I may be hurt psychologically, but that doesn't give me the excuse for the justification to act immaturly. When you lose, you are expected to be as professional when you win. Everyone hates losing Cam! Get over it!
