Stephen A. had been doing exceptional things before First Take but Skip asked him to be in the show and to give him 3 years and Stephen A. accepted. Within that 1st month Stephen A. joined the show they skyrocketed to #1. He knew Stephen A. would give them the energy and character the show needed and they were great together. Also Stephen A’s takes have never been as ridiculous as Max’s were, and as much as I like Max I don’t think being on a debate show was his forte. He’s much better off being a host and mediator which is what he’s doing for ESPN now
I remember I was so sad when he left espn but now honestly I couldn't picture a world without Skip and Shannon they were a match made in heaven but Skip and Stephen A will always be the OG pair nothing was better as a Cowboys fan to watch them go back and forth regardless of who was bragging lol good times

Don't understand how you can stand watching it. Almost all of skip's takes have been influenced by extreme bias the past 2-3 years. Shannon to some extend with lebron but atleast he has some good honest takes when it comes to other players.

No, I'm here from the last Max Kellerman show. But yeah, before that I watched Stephen A. Smith's reaction to Shannon's departure from Undisputed, then watched the Undisputed as well, and then I remembered I didn't watch Max Kellerman's last show. And finally, I wanted to watch this one as well
Lol. They are much more respectable now! Max is logical and not emotional like Skip. They cover the Cowboys everyday on Undisputed for half the show. There are 30+ other teams in the NFL. He's always obsessed with saying negative things about King James to the point where it's pathetic now. Shannon makes Undisputed entertaining and no one can deny it. Even though he gets tongue twisted a lot it doesn't matter because he's funny as hell!

When Shannon first started, he was hard to watch. He's become a living legend on-air personality right now, and we've got Skip to thank for that. When Max Kellerman first started, he was hard to watch. He's still hard to watch to this day. Skip's shenanigans were why I watched first take. And now undisputed is my go-to show, because it's just good vibes all around with Skip and Shannon. Thank you Skip. You might have some weird takes, but you're the mfking man.
Skip and Steven a were the mold that forged skip and Shannon, and considering I haven’t missed an episode of undisputed since the very first one, I am extremely grateful for Steven a and all the legendary moments on espn. I’ve always loved debate shows that were funny as well as interesting, and no show does it for me like undisputed.

Stephen A just said a few days ago in an interview that fox sports wanted to pair him and skip up in the early 2000s for a debate show to go against PTI but at the last minute fox pulled the plug
This clip just shows you that SAS lied a bit on how he was brought on to first take . In his sit down on JJ Reddick podcast he made it seem like skip was begging him to join the show .. saying skip met him in the parking lot which clearly isn’t true . Skip gave him a OPPORTUNITY cuz espn let him go & he had been gone for a couple years …. More than anything Skip gave SAS a second chance at that network . You need to stay consistent with what you’re telling ppl NOW cuz what you said last week is very misleading & isn’t consistent to what you said THEN . No wonder Skip upset with this mf & made a whole episode on his podcast dedicated to telling his side

Back when Skip saw the potential in Stephen A, and SAS was actually good with his work. Ever since Skip left. SAS is just terrible, and the show was unwatchable. Max was the only fun factor.

Oh Lord, please let these two great men reunite again. Shannon and Skip are good. Not great. Stephen A and Max were good but also not great. Stephen A and that fat slug Kendrick Perkins are a joke. My greatest fantasy is Stephen A and Jim Rome but I know it will never happen as Romey would wipe the floor with ESPN's favorite son. But seeing Skip and SAS would truly be an honor to watch again.
Ummm, this is proof Stephen A did lie. He said Skip begged him in the parking lot. This lines up a lot more with Skip’s version that he called Stephen A to give him an opportunity.
