Any person can get a Journalism degree. Not any given person can be a football player. But a good football player with brains can be a damn good journalist, LOL.
i always find it strange when these "commentators" have a problem with athletes having opinions when they spend their whole time being opinionated and thinking they can say what they want when they want.
Ryan Clark completely outclassed Skip Bayless. His flow of reasoning really pulled Skip's thought process out for everyone to see. Represented himself well. It's always funny to see sports talk show contributors get upset over criticism of themselves while their job is to be a critic. The problem came from Skip's defense of himself from Durant, grow up a little Skip.
Is Rob & Skip slow! What Ryan said around 10 minutes is so simple. The player turned reporter/analyst has the advantage. You will never ever play or achieve what they have done on the field. However that same athlete has the opportunity to achieve in their field. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh. I think you don't have to be so smart to do what they do. Especially after hearing dumb questions like "How does this lost feel?" What were you thinking when you took that last shot?"
Just because someone has become a general journalist or got their seniority promotions doens't mean they are the best at what they do. I agree with Ryan.
The look on Charissa's face when Ryan hit skip with that all time competitive loser line lol She wanted to laugh then she looked back over her shoulder at Skip like yeah he got you right there buddy lol!!!!!!!
its obvious you like Stephan A. but the only thing clark said that was out of line was about his hairline which is pushed back... These guys have a platform to say whatever they want about athletes but when athletes say something about them, they wanna cry and complain and tell people to "kiss their you know what" hypocrites man! Skip upset about Durrant, when durrant calls him out! bull!
Athletes are passing talking heads and it's not close. We would all rather watch Tyson interview someone, Shannon Sharpe, Jalen Rose, Chris Carter, than the old guard so Ryan definitely looked ahead to what Skip and SAS couldnt see. TO, Marshall, Foster have podcasts all superior to the old guard.
its easy to ride when the athletes on those teams are retired lol...but its like skip never wanted lebron to win a ring or to or chad johnson ..he hates some athletes...i don't know why
who are the athletes Stephen was talking about when he said they want his job.... thats what he said right before he said most of them... he ?? YOU STILL DIDNT POINT OUT THE THINGS RYAN SAID THAT WASNT FACTS..... point them out SIR!
Point blank. if you're an athlete be prepared to be criticized. Since it is PROFESSIONAL SPORTS it also falls under the category of entertainment and EVERY entertainer gets criticized. if you don't wanna be called "Soft" prove it on the field/court.The way to stop people from talking about you is to prove them wrong. if you constantly do the same shit be prepared to be categorized. The clutch gene talk wouldnt be there if Bron wasnt always doin the same fuck up shit.
Ryan Clark is a little bit of a hypocrite when you look at some of the things he’s said recently about players like Tua and Jared Goff when he was back with the Rams
This is all started because skip got hurt by jalen bringing up his real stats in high school 😂. Skip would be a weak athlete if he was playing football or basketball. Jalen never lied
They are jealous of the athletes. Athletes and analysts take two different paths to become an analysts on TV these analysts could never be a pro athletes and they look at them as a threat to take their job. News flash former athletes are the most qualified. In their eyes they don't like that players took the easy way to becoming a TV analysts but in reality they been in one sport all their lives to have the right to talk about the sport they played in and that's what columnist and analysts don't like or don't get
5:12 it's ABSOLUTELY about being personal when it comes to Rob and Skip about LeBron. There's no justification of their hatred of him other than being personal
First all Rob Parker talking about 4 Sports Journalist in NY or Chicago. Rob what about the 5000 Cities between NY and Chi that have a newspaper. I thought Ryan burried these guys early on when he said this whole debate started because Skip got his feelings hurt when Jalen called him out. Rob and Skip never came back to that or addressed that issue. This was a joke!!!!!!!
Due to social media, the players now have a voice to retort back towards the media. In the past, the media controlled the voice of the athlete because they were the only source. The "reporters" are no longer in control, and whether they are right or wrong about it, they don't like it that the athlete has a platform to criticize them back. A reporter does need to focus on the facts and not make comments about the athlete personally if they don't want to get and brushback.
The place where players shine and make their point is on the field or court. Nobody ever talked junk about Michael Jordan because when it was his turn to talk(on the court) he would shut them up, players get paid to play and writers to write and analyze.
well spoken by ryan clark. skip and stephen only on tv cuz they r drama starters. they play to the public's resistance versus morals. kinda like a day-time talk show, or soap opera for sports.
Skip again lying about what happened. Nobody is cool with him and Nobody text him angrily. He has no reason for his personal criticism and should be thankful he has this job.
Umm rob is crazy u can't call players in the NBA scrubs they play in the league for a reason players in the NBA can call each other scrubs but Rob and other analyst can't do that if they never played the game
These dudes are smokin. Stick to Xs and Os and stop takin stuff personal. The. Media is waaaaay too big now. I’d rather listen to athletes than these sorry ass “journalist” who do nothing but take shots.
Not only is Ryan Clark now one of the best analyst at ESPN he even brought his boys from the pivot podcast to get a piece of that 💰. Skip and Rob Parker have never put anyone on!
Skip put on Stephen A Smith and Shannon Sharpe and they both will tell you that and they're definitely doing better than the pivot podcast and I like that podcast just got to be honest and fair
As the "Journalist" that Skip Bayless claims to be, that was wrong when he brought up a private conversation with RC live on the air.. complete lack of journalist integrity.
Ryan’s only point here is “you shouldn’t talk about a players character ever” Well sorry Ryan, nobody gives a shit. Nobody needs to play nicey nice with millionaire public figures.
Are you serious ... Long-term journalist have the knowledge of a respective sport on par of a coach. There pedestal is that of tenure son. They can say what they say because they've been around the block. And 2) if someone calls you a scrub and you get mad at it or that you're soft and you get mad at it you are a punk that's all it is too it.... No real man validates himself off of other's word's but by the power of his actions
is that all you can give me? im talking about real sports that require more complex sports ? .im talking about sports like football and basketball . you truly have to play to understand . you can study as much as you like but you cant tell the master , who played what thry should improve on . its like to tell a math teacher how to solve equations
Anyone can criticize another and you don't need a degree to do that so that doesn't make it special.just on the defensive jus like the players do when you demean them.what good for the goose is good for the gander,-oops
Always feel bad for Clark when I watch this. Whole discussion is planed by First Take: Rob Parker leads discussion, tries to take discussion in different direction ("media people don't need to have played game to know game"), which isn't Clarks point. Look at the last question by the woman:" Has the air been cleared?" Watch how fast Rob Parker says "yes". He is happy they talked for 15 minutes without actually discussing the valid point Clark makes: Media should focus on game and facts and less on "I think" "I asssume" and opinions in general.
