To him, regarding is family background, ed must be like the worst illness you could ever have - and so he was that serious about it. He knows if he had that problem, he would be devasted.
Yea, I get the feeling that the reasoon Luke had been mad at Rudious, is because he thought he was trying to deny his Greyratness, thus puting his nose up at Luke, thinking he was better then anyone else.
As an anime only, I thought the theme of him and his fight with abandonment was dealt with very well. When he woke up after the deed I found myself saying 'please be there's there' over and over and when she wasn't I was like she need to walk in! It took him two lifetimes but he's finally been accepted by someone. It was really wholesome
@@squalleonkeneddyheart4191 BTW to anyone reading his reply, no, it wasn't. The anime did it better, so did the light novel, the Mushoku Tensei manga is the worst way to view the series, just read it or wait for the animes.
Yea Sylphie being next to him smiling bashfullh after that crazy night was the moment I was loocking forward the most. It was much more íntimamente much more romantic, and the meaage was clear. "I'm still hear, I love you and I'm not going anywhere"
True!! Seems I get more interaction from Anime Onlies because there's a larger market right now for it, but getting more on board with the novel would be great!
I did this when episode 3 or 4 of season 2 came out. Started from the start and now a 3rd of the way through volume 19. It's insanely good. First LN I've proper read.
The potion was originally sold for 2 gold coins. (edit: turns out it's 10 gold coins, my bad) 8:50 Paul being attacked was a skipped scene but we did get a hint about it later when Zenith commends "I couldn't believe the things Rudy taught [Sylphie]" hinting that Sylphie caused a scene after Rudy was taken away. 32:10 Don't worry, as an anime only, I thought "luke juice" was funny. I also thought it was funny how after all this time of Rudy going from person to person, even a Demon Lord of all people, and none of them being able to help him, only for Luke of all people to just go "oh, he has impotence? Here, this'll fix him."
I like the changes tbh. In the novel you can easily make a first person perspective where you say he didn't notice her until he turned around in the bed and saw her there. But an anime will almost always be third person and it's difficult to sell that they feel that anxiety if Sylphie is still there because the "camera" is able to see across the room. The easy fix for this, if you're a film maker, is to just let sylphie leave the room. You get that anxiety shown through all the beautiful isolation framing shots you got in this episode, without restricting the camera too much on a 1st person POV, which then sells the idea that he feels lonely and anxious at those moments paralleling Eris leaving him. This makes sylphie returning to the room so much more of a weighted event and you get that emotional gut punch before the music even kicks in.
It's funny how Luke got his hands on that aphrodisiac. When I saw it I remembered it from Season 1. Makes sense how it got rare/lost during the displacement.
Gonna miss Mushoku Sunday. Looking forward to your next season 1 skipped content. And of course your Mushoku Monday's. That will have to get us through the next 6 months til cour 2.
As anime only, I would say the symbolism of just somebody being there the day after, it's still there in the anime, when Rudy wakes up and looks around to see if Sylphie is there, he checks the bed to see both if Sylphie and him did the deed and it shows the blood stain on the bed to confirm it happened. He then knows they did, making him think of those thoughts again that everyone he sleeps with ends up leaving him. I thought the idea was obvious of what Rudeus was thinking and as a viewer what was going on. Btw your Luke Juice joke is fine man, not a snowflake here so you're good Otaku Spirit, Luke was the MVP of this episode lol
Really liked your analysis. After previous videos, I had an impression that Ariel's actions were VERY calculated, not coming only from a friendship place. After ppl realised how powerful Rudy was, she pushed Sylphie hard towards him. Her plan worked so well that they formed an alliance
I think it's better for Sylphie to be gone when he wakes up. He will still need to do things without Sylphie around, as will she. But in this case, Sylphie came back. He can trust her to no be there and then to still come back, which is better than just never being apart.
I loved today's episode. I've already read up to volume 24 so it's been a long time since I had read what was covered in today's episode. The anime did an excellent job portraying these scenes and helped me relive how I felt when I read it for the first time. Sylphie has always been my favorite out of the 3 girls. The relationship that Rudy cultivated with Fitz and those feelings that transferred to Sylphie are so touching and remind me of my relationship with my wife and how wholesome and awkward we were as we got to know one another. Sylphie and her devotion to Rudy is so sweet and I love how Rifujin Sensei wrote her as exactly the solution that Rudy needs. He's finally found someone that he can trust and I think the anime did a good job showing how much Rudy appreciates that Sylphie is there for him.
This series is mind boggling good. I've read a lot of books in my years and light novels/manga always blow my mind with how much fun they can be without trying to put the content over the reader. This series is a roller-coaster of emotions that feels amazing, terrifying, and heartbreaking all at once.
Ive watched only anime and for me this scene was great. This was exacly what Elise find out about his problem: "He is afraid that after the deed women would leave him like Eris have done", thats why he was looking for Sylph, thats why when he saw that they have done it, he get sad/angry and thats why the moment he heard her footsteps he calmed down and when she said to him, that she is with him he just broke crying. For me its best scene in this season.
First starting this anime I thought it was going to be a normal isekai blah blah. This has quickly become one of my all time favorite isekais and anime in general. It has all the weird and funny anime stuff but it also has a beautifulness to it.
I'm going to leave a comment and like right now even though I won't listen to the video till tomorrow. These are my ride to work on Mondays entertainment. I really enjoy these videos. Bless you!
I have read the web novel and the light novel, and I think the anime nailed it on the morning after scene. If it just duplicates the way it happens in the novels, we would get a long monologue from Rudy leading to a turning of head as the climax. It works in written form, but for a visual medium that's a stale, static scene. Too much tell, not enough show. Instead, the anime takes advantage of the visual medium to let you feel Rudy's mood. How desolate the room feels in the morning, Rudy rationalizing Sylphy leaving him for work, but his body language tells you it's deja vu and despair is setting in. Then the tension is released when Sylphy walks into the room, and you have the emotional pay off. That's excellent usage of show not tell in visual form.
@@tomi1455That scene has Rudy moving from the bed to the window then back to the bed, while showing a desolate bedroom. There is sound effects from the birds chirping outside and students laughing about outside in contrast to the lonely Rudy inside. There is the use of color in various shots. There is Rudy's voice acting that conveys his despair. There is a special ending song sang by Sylphy just as she walks into the room. If you think this is just like a manga, then let's agree to disagree. I never enjoy talking anime with novel/manga purists anyways. Anime is trash unless it's panel-for-panel, page-for-page transfer for them.
here's hoping that more care and attention is put into cour 2. The drop in quality was painfully noticeable. The action held up thankfully and that's what's most important to me, but after a stellar first season it's always a bummer when consequent seasons suffer due to studio/budget/personnel changes. OPM comes to mind as an example of a series ruined by a sloppy second season.
The way I see it Rudy needed the Luke juice to speed things along. Being unable to perform would probably have taken a mental toll on him and the whole process would have taken that much longer to get resolved. Of course Sylphie is what cured him for real. Without her the story might have turned into "Saving 100 gold in another world to get my PP working"
Dude, the Luke juice jokes are hilarious. Everyone who reads/watches this series should be able to roll with the risky jokes in my opinion. Keep ‘em cumming.
It's been an another good season of MT content. Good to hear you explain the skipped content. For this last episode, I got a chuckle when it sounded like they were saying Viagra in Japanese when talking about the aphrodisiac.
I'm new here. I loved all the Luke jokes. Do you, my man. Don't hold back because of humorless people. Thanks for the content. Much love from Puerto Rico
First off love the luke juice plus the whole "he was the only one who could fix him" was laughing my ass off to those jokes. Also i cant wait to see where it goes from here for next part.
I want add something about Ariel’s inability to control Rudeus. Rudeus not just famous in North. He was famous in Asura before displacement incident. When Silphy was transferred to castle, Ariel’s circle tried to figure out what to do with her, and they decided disguise her as male because of rumours about genius boy who tamed that monster redhead girl as her teacher. And he, coincidentally used silent spell casting too. So Sylphy was disguised as male because of Rudeus fame. You can say Fitz was fake Rudeus from the beginning. And Ariel going to use real Rudeus name now.
I just don’t get why they changed the morning after scene. The whole episode is supposed to be a contrast between Sara and Eris starting with the cave scene where Rudeus is honest about his condition.
personally i thought it hit harder when he was closing his eyes panicking that sylphy would not be there, has all these thoughts, takes a deep breath open his eyes and looks to see sylphy lying there saying good morning rudy, but the anime still did a fine job with the chapter
Sylphie not being in the room the next morning was the change that upset me the most. It felt like they completely missed the point just to have a cheap fake-out moment
love how detailed and put together your analysis is as well as how you speech and how you present yourself its awesome. you point out stuff I missed and didn't know wish i found your channel sooner will definitely be watching ur vids on future mushoku content.
I have read the light novel, and watched the anime. Having you do these analysis makes me understand so much more of the world and characters. Thank you immensely for your hard work and dedication to this series!
So I stoped reading the ln right when he got to the academy, so went into this scene blind, and when he woke up I thought he believed he passed out and wasn't able to "preform" and that's why sylphie was gone. But the hug when she shows up was my favorite moment of 2023 Anime.
17:00 definitely made me love his character. He was hating on Rudy but learning the truth did a full 180 on his perception of Rudy like did my guy Luke ever have the same ailment? Felt like he spoke from the heart lol
Thanks for the videos man! it was a pleasure to watch your analysis every Sunday, and I will be back when the second part of the anime continues, do you have any recommendation for where I can read the light novel online?? thanks!!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the videos and hope you'll stick around for the other skipped content videos. I'm not sure about where to look besides Seven Seas.
Surprised you didn’t mention the fact that they decided not to adapt the extra Eris chapter, at least not yet. Wonderful video as always though! Can’t wait for more Mushoku content!
Wow LN describes the alliance much better than the anime did. I got it but so many reaction vids seemed to assume she was going to try to just use him and control him. Which there was no way.
Thank you for all the great content this whole season! Hope to see you soon explaining the depths in great detail again. Cant wait till new mushoku tensei content next year!
I’ve noticed that there are lots of Anime only watchers of the series! Your MT Sunday Videos go past 5 digit views every time you make a reaction/review of the episode!
Seriously you are now playong along with the Superman glasses.visor trope - dude I appreceitated all he brought but can't gp there - it's INSANITY - whos' gonna driveyou home? what is LOVE... it echoes whos' going to drive you home??
its over but i started the light navel picking up where episode 10 left off. ive never felt kinda disappointed with the how fast the pacing is in an anime untill now but its still really good.
Yeah, it's hard for me not to complain about that since season 2 began. Makes me wonder if I'd had the same feelings about S1 if I had read beforehand. But I still find myself constantly rewatching S1 episodes without problem.
@@otakuspirit Thing is that, in season 1 there was some skipped content for sure, but they put in everything they could that they can, including all the things rudeus monologued about, all the weird things he said and did, he felt like a real person that wasted his years, and that makes it special, that he feels real and acts and thinks like who he is, in season 2 there is way less monologue about what he thinks and does, it dont feel like we are in with the story with rudy, just watching it.Much more skipped content,Pacing at eps 1 - 3 was also extremly off.And some scenes completly got changed throughout the whole season. And worst of all it didn't feel human, characters had more humanity to them, especially Rudeus.I feel like they made him more (Family friendly) there is no one time where he made a skit joke like he always does or say smth perverted, for some people they are fine with that and they actually prefer it.But its not who Rudeus is, he may be a better person for sure, but he is not a saint.Season 1 had way more attention to Rudy, what he is and what he thinks,it just feels like we are watching a shell of him, when i read the ln of academy arc, i never got bored of it and loved it! Rudeus's remarks of fitz and just the general monologue of everything made things nice and fun. There is way more i could say but this is long as hell already so yeah.I will continue to watch MT and hope better for cour 2, since its really important to know everything about how rudy feels there.Im not even gonna talk about the change of quality of animation and ect. I wish they gave it time to refine it, i dont think anybody wind mind that much if they waited a year or 2 more ao they can make something like season 1 even if not exactly the same. The badigadi fight was really dissapointing, they took the easy way out of animating it by making the stone cannon explode and make a huge dust cloud, even though it never explode and just went through him at mach 5 like a bullet, animation was really sloopy too, and the whole everyone reacting to rudeus making it just seemed so eh, and the whole unrealistic air around it and the yellow glow on the stone cannon was just awful, if u go back to season 1 you would see how realistic it fires and makes a way bigger impact, then just some basic explosion, the didn't even talk about orsted and how rudeus landed a hit and scrached him.Ok that's it that was a long comment.I really reccomend for all of you to read the LN
yeah.. it was very powerfull the scene of him looking at the blood on the bed.. i could imagine what was going throug his head at that moment.. (I fucked up, i was to rough, i hurt her, she is not coming back), and then she comes back, its so wholesome s2
As a person whos only watched the anime but I plan to read the light novel i feel they did luke a disservice and made him more a blank slate than to flesh out the fact that hes a greyrat and these smmaries are the reason im going to buy my first anime related book
Thanks for the update for the skipper content. I read this in the manga and that’s how I noticed the differences. With s2p2 being about 7 months away. Maybe I’ll catch up to season two from the novels. So far I’m up to book 6.
NOOOOOOOO. I was really hoping they wouldn't make it split cores, but now my hopes have been crushed. Well, I guess the faster you rip the bandaid off the less it hurts.
The scene after Rudy and Sylphy do the deed was... ok, I heavily preferred how the LN did it as it gives us better insight to how he's feeling and his fears, I'd even say the manga did it better then the anime. (rare manga W)
RE Cut Content: I feel like the anime is doing its level best to run the story, as purely as is possible, as a first-person perspective. I assume it is for that reason that they almost never let us hear anyone else’s private thoughts in a scene (only Rudy’s), and why there is so much skipped content that gets retro-explained by someone who was there. Consider how the anime pretty much went straight from Rudeus being knocked out by Paul to him waking up in the carriage later. The skipped content (that occurred outside of his perspective) gets filled in later by someone who witnessed it or told a second-hand story from a witness. Most of the skipped content seems to follow this formula, so I think it’s a pretty safe explanation for why. RE Analysis: Most other channels’ story analysis videos (for any material) make me cringe because of how parochial their view is, and so I end up berating my screen as I watch them. Most just utterly miss any deep meanings of things or events, or understanding a character’s motivation, etc. As such I really appreciate your ability here; it is rare that I can nod along in agreement with others’ analysis. RE-lated to that: I’ve learned to just dismiss (like water off of a duck’s buttocks) the people whose triggered rage analysis / reaction to stories like MT seems to rival that of a middle-schooler with zero understanding of “adult reasoning”. Let them humorously rage about Luke Juice or how “Rudy is a pEeEdoOo because his brain is in its 40s” (as if that isn’t a catch-22; it’d look far worse to the people in the story if a kid had interest only in adults). Nothing can be said or done to educate or illuminate them. There will always be people triggered by jokes. Eff’em.
I really wished they went the same route as the manga they really adapted it way better they made it 10x more wholesome than the anime go read chapter 75-76 there are no spoilers on these 2 chapters if you already finished the last episode
@@Sleep1ngDr4gon I just started watching anime, and my friend recommended this first, I don’t know where to start on manga or light novel, I don’t know the difference
Can confirm being in a sexless relationship will never work. At least for 99.99% of people. I managed to make it a little over a year before I basically told my gf things change or things change drastically. Her choice.
yeah... in the anime, Luke stabbed Sylphie, then twisted the knife and dug it deeper... and THEN he gave her "salvation" Luke was savage AF tho lol. He didn't have to be THAT brutal before offering help
