Excellent tutorial! Will help me to do the next oil-service to my Karoq TDI by myself. Thank you from a Skoda-driver from Germany!

Thank you for your excellent guide. I have the same car and found the tutorial a great help as seeing it done first always makes it an easier job.

Hi question why do u need to prime the filter by a scan tool should it just prime with ignition on n a few seconds off cranking
@DropTheBoxOfficial
@DropTheBoxOfficial 4 дня назад
It will prime the filter by turning the ignition on and off a couple of times, but I find if you do it via the scan tool the vehicle will start alot better. This minimizes the chance of running your high pressure fuel pump dry and potentially causing damage.

Why you didn't change the second oring and leave it on the table?
@DropTheBoxOfficial

That filter is used on a few different engines, on this application you don't require the second 'o' ring. Thanks

hi M8, why did you use the wrong motor oil specification.....for this model and diesel engines specification is VW 507.00, ACEA C3 ? Otherwise very good video, thanks for sharing !!!!

ACEA C3 Same as C2 except for HTHS > 3.5 and without Fuel Economy performance. Stable, stay-in-grade oil intended for use as catalyst compatible oil in vehicles with DPF and TWC in high performance car and light van diesel and petrol engines, with a minimum HTHS viscosity of 3.5mPa.s. These oils will increase the DPF and TWC life ACEA C5 ACEA C5 oils are high performance, lower SAPS lubricants. The primary goal of ACEA C5 oils is increased fuel economy in high performance petrol and diesel engines in passenger cars where advanced after-treatment systems such as Diesel Particulate Filters and Three Way Catalysts are used. HTHS viscosity must be in the range 2.6 to 2.9mPa.s (i.e. low) - typically SAE 0W-20 or 5W-20 and made with Group III base oils. Key: DPF: Diesel Particulate Filter. HTHS: High temperature / High shear rate viscosity. mPas: millipascal-second, a unit of measurement used to express dynamic viscosity. SAPS: Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus, Sulphur. TWC: Three way catalyst. Viscosity: a measure of a fluid's resistance to flow; it plays a crucial role in engine lubrication

All parts were supplied by OEM supplier and recommend the higher grade oil due to the above advantages. Thanks

Then pls., explain why the service book say for diesel engines use VW 504/507.00 ACEA C3 which has HTHS 3.5 mPa.s ? Btw Ravenol VSW 0W30 ACEA C3 has lower saps and beats any basic VW 508/509.00, SAE 0W20 oil in specification data and tests. (Group III oils are usually base oils and doesn't have sagnificant drops of additives ... they are cheap and stable ..yes. Group IV, V are PAO and ESTER oils, they are more efficiant, much better low friction , low viscosity than Grooup III oils...cost few bucks more, not so stable , but if you change oil on 10-15k km per year is pretty fine.) Best low saps, low friction, low viscosity oils for me are Ravenol VSW 0W30, Motul Specific 0W20 and from basic oils Mobil1 ESP X2 0W20.

I'm guessing kodiaq 2.0L TDI is the same deal?
@DropTheBoxOfficial
@DropTheBoxOfficial 4 месяца назад
Depends on the engine code, might be slight differences but the procedure will be the same. The engine code for the vehicle in the video is DNNA

@@DropTheBoxOfficial Thanks brother. Btw do I REALLY need VCDS to prime the pump or can I just do it the old fashioned way? (Filling the filter manually)
@DropTheBoxOfficial
@DropTheBoxOfficial 4 месяца назад
It can be done the old fashioned way but you run the risk of excessive wear on your high pressure fuel pump. So we wouldn't recommend it. Most scan tools should have the activation function if you don't have vcds.
