Bought my 1.5 DSG from my hometown Kolkata, drove it to Sikkim, to the north zone, Yumthang, Katao, in black ice areas. The car never disappointed despite having only 4x2 setup. It's effortless to climb steep hills and a sheer fun to use the paddle shifters. Then drove it back to Bangalore where i reside. It handles highway like a breeze. I feel pity when i see ppl buying large SUVs just for the size. They dont know what they're missing out on until they drive these german cars. You can casually accelerate past 150kmph and won't feel a thing.

You forgot to mention one of the best feature of this engine "cylinder deactivation technology". It lets you get a better mileage despite of being 1.5 ltr block.

Got kushaqs base model rather than getting top models of lower segments…. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive.

I have the Kushaq 1.5 Automatic and it’s a sheer joy to ride. I have 2 other cars of other car makers but driving the Kushaq makes me feel really happy even on traffic packed roads.

I am a proud owner of Kushaq Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG and I love it. Driving this car is a pure joy and i have never felt bored when I am in it. Be it highways or mountains this car always gives you happiness while driving. Almost zero body roll, remarkable handling and driving dynamics makes it only 2nd to sedans in my opinion. By the way, I don't mind it being smaller than its rivals and I love its design. It's a timeless one.

German cars are always fun. But that's not what Indian mass market demands. Great car though.

I have the slavia 1.5 manual and trust me when i say, it just gives me thrills when i drive this car, beforw this i had the ecosport ecoboost, so even that car was purely based on driving dynamics and sheer fun, so coming from that i had no other option but to go for this beast for the same pleasure

Bought a Taigun 1.5 DSG a year back after test driving almost all the cars in the segment. Yes creta was very tempting especially after going through the feature list but the Taigun pleasantly surprised me. Even after 1yr of owning it every time I drive it puts a smile on my face. The Kushaq and Taigun are seriously underrated yes the price is on the higher side but these cars give you the highest safety (5star GNCAP) in the segment! A great engine mated to a quick shifting gearbox, adequate features and unmatched driving dynamics. Yes these VW 2.0 have their flaws but you really need to own one to truly appreciate how well engineered and how lively and fun the Taigun And Kushaq are.

haha one of the best cars I own. I would even choose this over the XUV 700 and even the innova when I go to road trips. Sure this thing is a lot smaller but the fun is immense. I usually travel with my girlfriend so no one really cares if its an innova or this. The 1.5 is a true beast especially with a manual. Its so fun

Tata did same with NEXON.. but only increased hight and front bumper size.. everything same as ALTROZ… under 4 meters…😂 at list VW nd Skoda has good engine safety nd length and all the elements which good car should have…

Its very easy to make a car fast by strapping a turbo to its engine. But making a NA engine powerful is very hard. Engineers will understand. Eg. of best NA engines tell me in comments.

Nice compilation, 2 more key advantage is all major safety features are available in base model itself and this 1.5 has ACT. Moreover ESC,multi collision braking , Hill hold , electronic diff lock,Traction control are available in base model itself .

I found this pathetic car and so VW's taigun. At lower models they offer 1000 cc engine with turbo. Which has engine noise. I mean couldn't they give 1200 CC??? Then size is way to low. Suspension wasn't that great. Infact I would like you to review and talk about Citroen C3 aircross. Damn affordable although heavy cost cutting. But is it worth it?

I have also driven this car. Performance superb. Just lag behind in the feature, length as you said. And not many people has made video regarding twin cylinder technology at less load.

Taigun and Kushaq are based on MQB-A0 platform same as that of Global Polo. So Polo has continued in India in a differenr form. And thats why Kushaq and Taigun are smaller than Creta and Seltos. But its also why they have better driving dynamics too!

Nowadays many people don't know the magic of a sedan... Recently from the last few years the public changed their choice and these companies also turned their thinking into business... Sedan is the best example of Aerodynamics, because of this feature only it moves fast and gives better mileage than any hatchback or suv cars... The boot space is also bigger in the sedan when compared to a suv or hatchback car.. sedan is more stable at cornering. Road stability is higher in a sedan... Companies have to pay more tax if they manufacture a sedan which is above 4 metres in length, hence they moved to hatchbacks and suv or mini suv and started manufacturing a car below 4 meters in length so that they can escape from tax payment to govt... They offered some new features like sun roof and other eye catchy things and started telling hatchbacks and suv cars are the best cars...

I miss vento ..was such a nice car..1.2 l turbo TSI engine ..pls bring it back

5-10 years ago vw group used to sell jetta and octavia for 20 lakh which were big cars with a 2.0l turbo engine and had premium materials and features. Now 20 lakh buys you these small cross overs which though decent have a small 1.5l engine producing no where near the power of the earlier 2.0l turbo diesel and cheap plastic and cost cutting. I dont understand where companies are heading.

Drive Slavia back to back with Kushaq you'll notice the difference right away. Kushaq is a great car but I think Slavia is more value for money, better in almost every aspect and the road presence isn't comparable as Slavia has the Octavia vibe at least from the outside. Great video btw👍🏼

last month while hunting for new car ; we visited many showroom, various test drives, different model's but back of mind I was tempted for *SLAVIA* from 2022 when it was showcased in Camo version . we visited Skoda dealer in feb . they were pushing us towards Kushaq maybe because of , SA was telling disadvantages of Slavia/ Sedan , its low seating position, length, etc.etc. as i Was driving Wagonr so i WASN"T lOOKING FOR A big crossover, what i need was big boot and comfortable Drive , SO I was Sure For Slavia A Big Crossover EATER . i GOT *SLAVIA* LAST MONTH ... and I'm EXTREMLY Happy FOR IT. And YEs 1.0 L TSI is not Underpowred at any Situation./.. I Still own My WagonR and will be Replacing it with new Skoda sub 4m car in 2025 as it is completing 15years in next year ,

What I like about Kushak is its feature to shut 2 of its valve at cursing speed on highways to be more efficient.

I love the subtle touches given by Skoda in all their variants. The finishing and everything just looks extra premium and ofcourse performance is no secret. My personal favourite

I believe one of the reasons it looks smaller than the competition is its longest wheelbase in the segment. It obviously helps the legroom but more importantly helps in the dyanmics of the car.

MISTAKE 2: It's DSG gearbox and not DCT....VW group's Dual Shift Gearbox (DSG) is much superior and original than DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) as promoted/copies by cheap korean cars

I like your video, one thing I partially agree, at around 7 mm you said engine is the main thing for making a car powerful, I will just one more thing along with powerful Engine we need excellent transition to wheel through gear boxes, that is why VW cars or BMWs runs muche fater smoother compared to similar powerful other cars

We own a Taigun (1.5 L). Completed a year of ownership last month. What a car ❤❤

Identifying Creta, Seltos, Hector, Kushaq, etc. as SUVs clearly shows how Indian market has miles to go before it looks ripe. These cars are just beefed up sedans with a higher ground clearance. Except the GC, there is barely any difference from sedans. For clarity, SUVs need at least a 4-wheel drive system to fall within the classification.

I have 1.5 TSI Topmodel..I can say that I am completely happy with my decision..I would ask new buyers to just take a test drive once you done with Creta and KIA..

You mentioned 140 bhp somewhere.... that's not accurate...it is approx 150 bhp..for 1.5 TSI variant

Does the kushaq 1.0 at still have ac issues in the 2024 models? Are there any issues with reliability, EPC issue, creaking noise in 2024 as well? Planning to buy this car but very concerned about the long term reliabiliy of the vehicle. Any leads are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes they are fun to drive Cars on the highway especially the 4 Cylinder 1.5 TSI Engine with Cylinder Deactivation technology. But on comparison with MT in competition especially Creata-Seltos & Vitara-Hyryder Kushaq-Taiguns clutch travel is deep & hard at the same time gear shifting is not silkin smooth. Maybe I could not adjust the sync with hard clutch system on my Test drive. They perform the worst single digit in fuel efficiency on our congested & chaotic City traffic conditions. The POLO 1.0 TSI Engine on 4.2 Mts in City shames the SUV in AC performance & lack Power delivery in Congested traffic conditions. Its purely European Car for 4 adults & not for our Indian family of 5 members. Its a Premium hatch with bigger bootspace at Midsize SUV Pricing. Buying a German Hatch for ₹22 lacs is too expensive for many Indian family. Unless you have lots of money to buy Car for Fun.

My favorite compact SUV is ESPRESSO 😅. For me that is the only SUV which can lock horns with any SUV on earth...😅😅😅 But jokes apart, I would prefer to go with Slavia 1.5 DSG any time.

I bought Kushaq 2023 model in 2024 Apr because of huge discount of 2L offered by Skoda but even top style variant have lot of issues. Avg comes around only 8km/L which is pathetic, suspensions are not good, even if car hits any pot hole at speed of 50Km/h it gives such loud thud noise like some stone has hit car from below, is it really expected from top variant of so called german manufactured cars? Probably they don't have pot holes in Germany but it India pot holes is common phenomenon on roads. Rear piano glass was broken when I removed tap after delivery, what kind of cheap quality skoda is putting in cars? No wireless android auto even in top end car, after spending 20L if skoda can't give such basic feature then its really shameful. Only good thing is drive quality which is enjoyable but apart from engine really nothing which skoda has done right in this car.

Kushaq and Taigun are the extended version of Polo that's why Polo is discontinued. It is intelligently sold as SUV with premium price at around 15 to 24 lakhs but underneath is a hatchback where Polo was selling around 8 to 11 lakhs. Cleverly they played all us Indians.
