Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI Review: First Drive | autoX 

The Rapid TSI needs to be driven to experience the thrill it gives you..The comparison here is a fair bit true. If you are one of those, who will choose flair over ruggedness, Looks over performance, Features over Fun then City or Verna for you! No doubts there. Rapid is a pocket rocket with a great engine, superb ride quality and built like a tank. The Rapid Rider version is the energy bar that you look forward to for those workouts :) The money that you would save makes it a super VFM without skimping on a lot of features making it a compelling buy!

Great review of one of the good cars which is still holding its grounds with two of its usp i:e Handling and the TSI engine, such cars are lost in the sea of new age technologies and weightage is given to feature rich cars I also have to say that among all the reviews till now, you guys have got the best location to review this car which compliments the car character, twisties, straight roads and all, keep up the good work. May I know which location is this? Would like to drive on such roads Thank You.

So what I take from this review (which is very informative by the way), is that the Rapid is now an old lady with botox implants made to look young. Its terribly behind on tech in modern cars of similar value and is pretty low on the WOW factor. Is there any reason anyone wouldn't get a Hyundai Aura, Dzire or even an amaze at the same price point, all of them are decent lookers and provide so much more. Skoda and the VW group needs to do a lot of work if they want to sustain in a ever evolving tech-savvy India. Lets talk about performance as well, It may be fun to drive on highways and all, but as a city dweller there is a very limited amount of actual highway cruising, Its mostly short bursts of driving followed by a signal or a pothole. Which actually puts drive-ability not the highest priority for a 2020 city car. I would much rather be completely pampered by tech in a bumper to bumper situation which makes up 50% of driving in cities while the remaining 40% is taken by suburban strolls. Now.. for that 10% of actual driving pleasure, is the Skoda rapid that much better than competition? I don't think so. I think the Skoda rapid is a great option if you were buying a car 7 years ago.

Way too expensive for an old car that does not offers features that are now industry standards. And this is so unSkoda where they have always been known more offering more for less.
