V druhé polovině prosince roku 2013 vynesla ruská raketa Sojuz do vesmíru evropskou družici Gaia.
In the second half of December 2013, a Russian Soyuz hauled into space the European Gaia satellite. For five years, Gaia will be tracking the locations, distances, movements and other physical properties of some billions of celestial bodies. The outcome of the European Space Agency´s project, also involving researchers from the Czech Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences, will be a 3D map of the Milky Way.
