Yeah, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to some kind of archetype that's parallel to Sky Strikers. Same universe, but different mechanics, maybe use some effect flavor to explore more of the world? That'd be neat.

LOVE that UA energy! And yeah, Sky Striker has a lot of stuff to content with this format that they never had to previously, so it'll be interesting to see how they adapt.

I imagine it's related to the ongoing storyline I have going in other videos. I imagine Eldlich has the reactive cards to deal with Utopia, but all the big Hope dude needs is one solid hit, and it's all over!

@@GoldenNovaYugioh I had a actual betting pool with others on what would come first, some of the choices were (Djinn Releaser of Rituals being unbanned, any of the spinoff manga getting a adaptation, Sky Scout being retrained to become a actual part of the Harpie archetype) among others.

I have not yet! I don't have any plans to focus on their lore for a bit, but it is part of my Long Term Plans!

I decided not to add that, as Sky Striker Ace - Accesscode Talker is a character that's only canon because the current showrunner actually made a FAN MOVIE that introduced them before they got the job, then retroactively added them into the show when they got hired on, so I don't recognize their legitimacy.

Oh yeah, the next part of the Albaz is on it's way! Rest of the month is all scheduled out, but you should see the next video on them early August!

Trickstars were meta iirc. I suppose Sky Strikers were the start of a trend a lot of players consider for deck build packs having a "waifu" theme in them. And definitely one of the strongest showings among them.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh man and salads are my fav, tho the card that is trap in ocg is more of a code talker card Heatsoul (HeatLeo+Decode) and is from the gold box where they got dragoon, the new F0, the T.G Stardust thingy. is a pair with Borrelend dragon and we are also missing the GX and Arc V cards.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh I don't know if it's supposed to be a combo of sunlight wolf and decode talker, it's Salamangreat Blaze Dragon which apparently in the anime showed up when the salamangreat player was up against appliancers. It does make me wonder about when will some of the OCG exclusive cards from special stuff will come out. One would hope that the OCG is not going to do more Frightfur Patchworks where they wait 2 years to release the card in TCG. I do wonder when or if TCG will ever get Holactie the Creator of Light, I could see it being done for the 2022 Megatins finishing the Tablet. Since I'm guessing for the really bad early OCG monsters that never came to NA it usually just doesn't matter and if they want to print them it can be pack filler for Speed Duels.

Draw + Search is a HELL of a dopamine rush!

That's not how negation works. Even if a monster tributes itself for cost, the effect is still negated (eg. Spheres under DRNM, the bounce effect doesn't resolve).

@@WilliamTheRailwayTako I've been in many duels were the judges allowed the effect to resolve since that monster was negated on the field And since it is no longer on the field it is not under the negation Since rose says "target a monster on your opponents side of the field and negate its effect till the end phase" which means it has to be on the field and is the right target it is negated However if it said "negate this cards effect till the end phase" or "negate the activated effects of this card till the end phase" then the negation will not fizzle

This is one of those tricky things about effect negation that REALLY SHOULD have a page in a rulebook we can all reference. So, the fizzling situation you're talking about works if the negation is coming from some kind of continuous source (think Fiendish Chain or Skill Drain). Since neither of those stop Raye from activating their effect, and the tributing would cause them to get out from under those specific effect, then it resolves no problem. However, with stuff like Roze and Effect Veiler, those lingering forms of effect negation, Raye's effect will be negated when they try to activated, because unlike Fiendish Chain or Skill Drain, they aren't checking where the monster is at resolution to see if it's negated, all it's effects that activate on the field are just negated. Now, if Roze said, 'Negate the effects of a face-up monster your opponent controls WHILE IT REMAINS FACE-UP until the end phase,' then it wouldn't work. But as it is, Roze was designed to be the kind of card that can stop Raye.

Not gonna lie, I've never seen a Striker player not absolutely go ham with Multirole, but personally? I hate when my cards get banished and I can't play them xD

In my personal experience when Multirole isn't at 3 its not a card you actively dig for. Its definitely a good card if your graveyard is already set up, and it can HELP you set it up if you open it, but with both it and Engage at 1 its usually a card I either play only if I open it, or if I dig for it late game

From what I saw, there was discussions and rulings decisions being posted BEFORE the event, and one of them said that it was legal to summon Zeke using Raye. I'm not sure if this was corrected ahead of implementation, but it was circulating for a while before the event xD

Makes sense to me, though only in the early game. You're gonna be looking to set up a ton of cards in your backrow, so that can conflict, but it's not a bad card to take back control of a game if all that advantage is lost.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh it's great...... if you go second otherwise a side deck filler. Sky strikers is kind of punishing for misplays. Someone on my locals yoinked toadally awesome to his field and now he's stumped because his spells are dead LOL

If it weren't for Hayate then yes. SS is best as a going second deck as it stands since Hayate can mill out the 1 Engage and then you can fetch it. Resolving Evenly requires giving up your battle phase.

They methodically rifle through their deck, looking for just the right card to set up. You look at the clock. 38:47 38:46 38:45 You look back at them. They've finally put the Shark Cannon in their hand. You cut. They draw. They mull over their hand again. What else could they be doing this turn? "Normal Raye, Link Kagari, get back Engage. Activate Engage, search then draw?" Yeah, not surprising. You look down at your hand. You have the Ashe, second card from the left. You could stop this. No. There has to be a better time than this. A better chokepoint. You nod. Maybe you can blank the Airspace? They'll never expect it, and it's just silly enough to work. They go back into the deck. They grab Eagle Booster. That's gonna be fun to deal with. "Link Shizuku, Link Kagari, get back Engage. Activate Engage, search then draw?" Makes sense. Why not loop the Engage as much as possible. It's the whole point of the deck. "Wait..." Didn't...they already Link summon Kagari? They look back at you, waiting for you to follow up. Their stare is intense. It's not just how focused they are. It's like they're seeing a part of you that you don't want anyone to see. A part no one should be ABLE to see. "Uh, nevermind." You must not be remembering it correctly. They seem so confident, they can't be wrong about that. You could check the grave, but you don't want to look like a moron. Gosh, how long has this been going on? It feel like they've been searching through their deck forever. Maybe you should call a judge over to hurry them up. You check the clock again to see how much time is left. 38:47 38:46 38:45 Oh, can't be that bad. We're only a few...minutes...in... Something isn't right. "Link Shizuku, Link Kagari, get back Engage. Activate Engage, search then draw?" You don't even remember what they added. You think to ask them, but the everything seems warped. Distorted. You can't see straight. No, it's not your vision, it's the table. Everything is curving down, like a black hole is pulling the table into the depths of the earth. It's their graveyard. piled almost to the ceiling, Shizuku. Kagari. Shizuku. Kagari. Link monster on top of Link monster, being produced by a seemingly bottomless Extra Deck. 38:47 "Link Shizuku." This has to be a bad dream. 38:46 "Link Kagari" A third hand seems to just slip the Link material into the massive graveyard, shaking so much that it threatens to topple over and bury everyone in the convention center. 38:45 "Get back Engage." You want to say something, but the words get caught in your throat. You can't even see your opponent's face. A wall of cards in their hands obscure your vision. A fourth hand is thumbing through their deck, probably for the 8476th Widow Anchor. 00:01 "Activate Engage, search then draw?" You reach for the Ashe. It's the only thing you can think of escape this nightmare. You wordlessly drop it onto the playing field, and those cold dark eyes peer at you from behind a curtain of card advantage. The glare has a hint of malice. And it's growing. They no long a passively observe you're soul. They're looking for something to drag out. To play with. To eat. To- 00:00 Duelists, That's Time In The Round "Link Kaina. Play Eagle Booster, I gain 100 LP. That puts me at 8100 to your 8000, and I pass turn. Good game!" They extend the handshake, and like that, everything is back to normal. The people at the games beside you have long since packed up their mats and moved on to anxiously await the next round of pairings. You whip a hand out to snatch your opponent's grave. It fits neatly in the palm of your hand now. One Raye. One Kagari. One Engage. Nothing out of the ordinary. "Is, uh, everything okay?" Your opponent still has their hand out, waiting for you to complete your sportsmanship-ly obligation. How did it go on that long? The game was being played at a reasonable pace...wasn't it? Your grave only has the single Ashe, but that's because it was Game 3....wasn't it? You shakily take their hand. There's nothing for it, really. Better luck next round, you suppose. But you can't ignore how cold and heavy that hand is. How, with one twist, they could pop your arm out of it's socket and take it as a trophy. "Next time, remember to wait until the Airspace to drop that Ashe. They'll never see it coming." They try to make their voice sound jovial, but it's a hollow imitation. There's a bloodlust there, hiding just beneath the surface. Some otherworldly being throwing a temper tantrum over a piece of interruption. You mumble in agreement. Anything to get away from them. They smile a fake smile, release their vice grip, pleasantly demand you sign the match slip, and they walk away. Somehow, Striker didn't convert at all to Top Cut that day. That player must have left to take care of something. You wonder which poor fool dropped a Ghost Belle on the Kagari activation to make them do that.

I think Formud Skipper would work, but it may be an issue of Diminishing Returns. They may have a sufficient enough amount of cards to access their Link Monsters, and I'm not sure what Cyberse monster they would want to search that synergizes with their strategy.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh they can search scryptron. Scrypton is level 5 and can be special summoned from the hand by banishing the formud you tributed for the link summon to get to accesscode more easily. Also it has an effect to shuffle a banished monster back into the deck when it's used to link summon. It bassically serves the same purpose as Halq or Selene but it activates from the gy while starting your normal combo.

Yeah, depending on who you ask, the time where Thunder dragon, Orcust, Sky striker and Salamangreat were the top decks is called TOSS, as an acronym for their names, or the Eternal Format for how long it stuck around. And, as it looks like, CONTINUES to stick around xD
