Here is my fully tested 2023 Skyland Load Order for Skyrim. This is a living shared document, so you may see changes to it over time as the year progresses. This includes new additions, changed mods and removed mods.
I keep it on the discord so if anyone has issues, they can ask about it and we can help you out and ensure you have the best looking Skyrim load order you can have, whether it's on xbox or PC.

What mods do you HAVE to have in your load order? What did I miss? Whats a good food texture mod that covers all the food and ingredients?

the most comprehensive one I've found is " High Quality Food and Ingredients SE ", another great massive texture pack for various items is " Misc Retexture Project " by IwantATardis, covers a lot !

What I can’t live with out in any mod list - currently the newest ones would be Dragonborn voice over with improved camera AE and immersive interactions. Atmospheric- cathedral weathers with pi Cho Konan and elegance reshade preset, obsidian fog and clouds all over and morning fog, storm lightening. Landscape - Atlantean parallax. Textures - smim 4K , El sopa potions redone, gothic alternative candles. UI - Dear diary dark mode warn text and show player in menus with quickloot EE, plus El sopas colored and animated icons and colored active effects. Survival- INeed and Wet and Cold. Weapons - Bowgasm by Nico. I use your tents and imperial forts and animated mean and ale bottles. Oh I forgot Immersive Equipment Display and weapons physics

Dragonborn Voice over, camera Se and alternate conversation camera will make the story feel more cinematic and provide more options on customization via voice packs.

My water combo is a bit more low key - consisting of RW2 Toostruus' Choice (which is a mash of RW2's water caustics that I prefer, and WFENB's textures), along with Natural Waterfalls. For clutter, I go with the rustic collection (along with misc retexture project and forgotten retex project), just cus it's simpler for me if I should ever rebuild my LO from scratch, and they cover in bulk too. The one thing I tweak with Skyland is the snow, replacing it with Majestic's just so that I can match the color of HLT's snow pines.

I’ve had problems with interior lighting + JK’s Interiors in the past, but ever since I started overwriting JK’s with the lighting mods, I have yet to have issues with it. [[Flickering Mesh Fixes]] can also help. I’ve tested ELFX and ELE so far (with WS modules + Haze Lights), and have yet to see flickering within JK’s Interiors or anywhere else. Results may vary on PC, but very doable on Xbox. Give it a shot again sometime, because JK’s interiors is a staple imo. Best of luck, and thank you for the video! Also thank you for giving us the best AIO on Xbox. I’m currently testing other combos, as it’s been 5yrs since I’ve been in the modding scene, but Skyland remains my all-time favorite.

Thank ya. I may try if there is an JK interiors AIO on Nexus. My biggest thing I ran into is disapearing meshes for some reason. I only run ELFX and no other lighting mods and even with patches, I'll go into certain locations with no walls.

Oh wow, that’s interesting. I may have to dig a little deeper then. I assume that’s including the ELFX + JK’s patch? That’s the only up-front solution I can think of, but I’ll definitely look into it for you. A fresh save could also be an answer, but I assume you’ve tried that as well. Hopefully we get it figured out one way or another. Perhaps try disabling your SMIMs on a fresh save, and see if it’s a compatibility issue between a particular SMIM and JK’s Interiors. That’s the only other thing I can think of, if it’s actual meshes disappearing and not just flickering lighting. I could be dead wrong

I recently downloaded Skyland AiO and Skyland LOD's. I use a lot of the same mods you use like ELFX and NAT. Question is where in My LO do I put Skyland LOD's... at the bottom of the list just before NAT or right after SKyland AiO whish is placed upper in my list, kind of in the middle after the mesh. Now that you mentioned it.. I think my JK interiors work very well with Lux. Haven't seen any issues so far as I remember. But light mods really triggered me too for a long time.

Normally, I played Skyrim on Xbox. However, I have currently upgraded to a Gaming PC. So, I'm learning to mod Skyrim AE on a new platform for me. Your Load Order helps me to understand the idea behind a stable base. However, while using this load order as the foundation, where would I place the other parts of the downloads like perks, combat, immersion, or followers to use with this set-up?

There are tons of smart people who have picked it up as a hobby and have just learned on their own. My brother who is in the medical field, not sure exactly what he does, spends most of his free time currently learning how to make his own mods.

@The-Skyking flipping amazing. Skyrim looks great running at 720p. Easy to mod and spend most of my time tinkering with it cuz that's what we do, right? How can we make this game look better and run faster, then move on to the next. The ergonomics of the trackpads and gyro are awesome. From emulation to AAA, it just works. Highly recommend

Yeah, that's a really good suggestion. Very immersive. I didn't think it would be cool because I'm like, how much time passes while playing the game. I think it took me about 1 year and a half in game time to beat the game and some side missions. I could easily pass 3 years of time doing everything.

@@The-Skyking exactly! Combined with timeflies and survival mode I have to really plan out how to finish a quest and actually rest the character at night. My current play through is the longest i’ve played skyrim ever. Just defeated alduin and miraak and it took me 2 winters already. One question. Since you recently released green thundra. Are you interested in making a seasonal compatible landscape? That would be really cool

@@The-Skyking i currently have seasonal landscape in my LO. But what i dislike about it is, in some seasons it changes my main architecture textures (skyland) in some cities like wrstonewall and solitude ground due to its form swaps. and the texture they provide feels out of place. Seasonal landscape is easily replaced by shrubs of snow actually. But if skyland turns seasonal the only thing that actually changes would be green thundra to brown in autumn and maybe another green with some flower petals in spring. Snow would already be covered by seasons of skyrim with skyland snow texture.

I know it’s been a couple months since you posted, but I’d put your followers like Inigo, Kaidan, Lucien, and Auri towards the bottom of LO, same with their patches. There’s a good LO layout on the Skyrim subreddit that you can follow.

I love what you do here, and it is helpful, however I really wish you'd be clearer about the edition of Skyrim you're using. For example, Net Script Framework (you need the spaces to find it) is NOT compatible with AE. If you're using a downgraded version of Skyrim, please say so at the start so people understand. That said this is a great looking mod list. Thanks for sharing it.

Skyking hi, can you think when you can to do a mod collection in nexus? you have everything a skyrim fan need but you have somethings like elfx that I can make it work so I keep lux with the 100+ patch, a lot of us dont speak english very well therefore is hard to keep up with the intructions... so can you think about it and help a part of the communty, and thank for fix the imperial metal jail door I remember comment to you about it long time ago in imperial forts parallax... and thank you for the green tundra you know I live in the Atacama desert in Chile and my fantasy game have to be green a lot of green =) greetings from Iquique Chile

Hey man just wanted to say I love your mods especially the new bits and bobs! I’m on series x myself though not PC unfortunately. I had a question. So I’m using skyland AIO and bits and bobs. I have the optimized chains and ropes meshes above bits and bobs then skyland aio underneath bits and bobs. Farther down I have jk’s Skyrim below all of those. Most of my ropes look good like they are suppose to but some of them have the textures but no meshes so they look vanilla. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

So it's SMIM > Skyland AIO > Bits and Bobs > JK? That should be fine. Maybe the SMIM for ropes and barrels doesn't have all the meshes?

@@The-Skyking almost. It’s smim then bits and bobs then skyland aio then jk’s. I was using smim essentials as my smim like you suggested on the mod page. I just can’t figure out why it’s doing this. Driving me crazy lol

You provided a very good modlist, my friend! i'm gonna try it just as you put it. And have some questions: do you have any kind of detailed instruction about what to choose inside the installers to make everything work fine with less pathes? 3:49 1) another thing i don't understand is that forst we have placed Realistic water 2 in the water section and after speacking about textures we again put the same mod? how does this work? i'm using this video as a step-by-step instruction and this thing breaks the logic of doing so, please comment. Should i put SkyLand B&B after the texture modlist you gave before or better install it inside after SMIM but before everything else? 2) you put snow mod before Skyland AIO though on the SkyLand AIO's main page it is said to put it after... please comment 3) another very important question is do you have a sort of nexus modlist page with modlinks? that would be so good before i became a master of copypasting ))) 4) sometimes you pick parallaxed textures sometimes not... or it is just not put in the name of mos? example - ERM - you wrote the name of this mod in your modlist with no paralax though the mod itself gived a choice to install paralax and 4K which is not mentioned either PS i'm using some retexture mods by xabio for armors and weapons - very good looking from my point of view, though massive cathedral overhaul is a great choice. Convenient Horses is a gret thing for skyrim! Makes more sense with quality horse textures) SkyClimb - bravo! Improved Camera for 1st person gameplay is very good in combination with different animation packs of one's choice ( First Person Combat Animations Overhaul 2.0 -SIZE MATTERS / Comprehensive First Person Animation Overhaul - CFPAO / Finally First Person Magic Animation for SSE ) Gourmet + Thaumaturgy + Mysticism + Ordinator = very good combo if you ask me Personally my base mods before the modlist actually are Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures and Creation Club Anniversary Cleaned and Upscaled - heavy and perhaps not nessesary but i put it before everyting else just in case) Thank you very much for this modlist and notes btw. Hiya, I didn't put instructions on what to choose while installing for the mods that offer it because I thought people would add more mods to this since it's a small load order. At the time of this video Skyland B&P didn't exist and so it's not in the list. There is a lot you can remove from this list and just have B&P.

@@b0raNdEvery texture and mesh mod goes after SMIM. NOTHING goes before smim. Everything overwrites smim. I put water low with skyland. I do water, enhanced rocks and mountains, snow, skyland. I put Skyland, Fantasia, and Bits and Bobs super low in my list unless there is a mod you specifically want to overwrite with it. Keep an eye on the conflict icon in MO2 to see what textures/meshes are overwriting what. If you use Vortex, I can't help since I've never used it. You can put snow anywhere. Looks and acts the same in my game if it's before or after. I don't care where you put it. The spreadsheet with links is on my discord. I don't really use parallax. I use it sometimes on landsacpes. I prefer it on architecture. I just have Whiterun parallax released.

I didn't like some of the fire effects with embers HD and had a couple other things I felt enbers hd did that I liked more. Totally up to you if you want to use XD instead. Nothing in my load order is in stone.

This converts pretty well to xbox and we have xbox load orders on the discord that users have made based on the Skyland 2023 load order. I don't have an xbox so sadly, I can't make one.

Oh, gigs and gigs. For xbox, you can fit most of it. A few people on the discord made a xbox LO based on this.

🤔😭 Xbox next gen X i Cannot get my game to the right load order & i use up 4.something GB of storage Bethesda needs to add more GB like i say 8GB & needs a Automatically lord order too Bethesda should add that even if it 💸💰 serious Hello Bethesda team 🏹🗡 i am not a expert in that area of MODS/ lord order then game crashed on me early today be playing all day even had a New game

Friend gifted me AE but didn't told me that coudl downgrade without losing all CC stuff. Now I have 330+ mods installed in my 1.640 version and so far 0 crashes. No crap useless LOOT used, just installed them and wentorder them in as most common sense despite dont have much knowledge. Now my game become in term of difficulty worse than dark souls, ironically dark souls 2 were a walk in the park comapred to my skyrim now >> Sadly there's some mods I wanted use that seem can't, like Elden Counter and for some reason the eating animation one werent working for me no matter what or where I placed it. Im using Pi Cho ENB too atm, my 6 year old gpu isnt much happy of it and the all texture mods however XD Edit: I also failed to use lod stuff watchign tutorials, dyndolod simply throw error about some mods having bad terrain stuff made with some "O-something" tool so I gave up...
