Whirlwind Sprint & Become Ethereal are the kings of "quality of life" spells in the game, even in characters that use 0 shouts. One is the default one I use while traveling, and the other one is for falling long distances without taking damage
Also whirlwind sprint still works when ur overencumbered. Shouts also reset timer if u skip in game time. So u can just perma whirlwind sprint outside of battle
Becoming ethereal has been my main shout in Skyrim since the beginning for me I can pretty much jump off things without taking a single hit of fall damage if you have all three words of it
@@mb_entity and with good timing and all You can use it to escape combat especially from bigger enemies like dragons or anything that can hit you hard on higher difficulties in the game
Clear skies has a 5 second cooldown and staggers all enemies around you. While I wouldn't say its a great shout, it has a lot more utility than people give it credit for
Thank you! I've also found when I want to completely mess up a room, the Clear Skies shout actually makes more of a mess than the Unrelenting Force shout. Give it a try next playthrough
I came to say this, but deep down knew it had already been said. It's usually my go to equiped shout for that reason while just killing normal enemies. That cool down timer is busted.
I love clear Skies as like a harmless shout just for fun; it still startles people and it's got the top-tier Thundercrack sound, so I use it like a 'warning shout'
I've found when I want to completely mess up a room, the Clear Skies shout actually makes more of a mess than the Unrelenting Force shout. Give it a try next playthrough
I love how this channel ranked hairstyles first before shouts it’s truly a testament to bethesda’s commitment to skyrims in-depth hair physics which are a major influence on the games playstyles that players choose
@@top_banananaplays absolutely, unless Jesus was an elf, in which case that'd be fine. The pursuit of the Thalmor (Piss Elves) against Talos worship is not too dissimilar to the Romans ostracizing Jesus worship! Anyways I may not wake up tomorrow
Mine will always be become ethereal for I can become a invincible being and take no damage until it wears off But it's only flaw is any action performed will mess it up so I refrain from doing so
@@pyscoandco they do the same thing almost Except one weakens armor and life force while the other just does damage them if they die they rise to help you fight alongside you till it wears off
That's actually a neat detail asbthe shout jot only worksbon clouds but also whatever may be covering the borealis since if TES lore is anything to go by, tha stuff is most likely trailing from another infinite realm and invisible "clouds" decide when they are visible
@@ravenval5046 so true. the closest thing to flying is becoming a vampire lord and doing some console command trickery, so it's definitely missing some cool levitation or flying shouts in the mix. Dragon have wings after all lol
Clear Skies also dispels Alduin's meteor strom Become Ethereal combos with Destruction Cloak Spells and allows you to set-up your Master Spells uninterrupted by a crowd of enemies
Ice Form is the one I use the most. It’s my “Oh shit, I bit off more then I can chew” in dungeons when I need to freeze multiple enemies and heal myself. Plus, if you level it up to all 3 words of the shout, after you heal yourself, you can just target one specific frozen enemy and hack away at it while the others remain frozen for awhile.
Okay, my mind was blown when I was fighting Alduin at the Throat of the World in my most recent playthrough, and he started Shouting meteors out of the sky...and I used Clear Skies on a whim to see if I could cancel his dumb meteor shout. And it WORKED. Easily one of the most epic Shouts for me, tbh :3
I like Slow Time and Soul Tear the most. Insult some Thalmor, use Slow Time, get behind them, and they're dead before they know it. Soul Tear is pretty dang tortuous, lore-wise. I save it for Necromancers mainly. The ash piles in my game NEVER go away and it irritates me. Edit: As always thank you for the video, Longbrow!
@@Juicedbelmont I would have loved to see the look of confusion on my face the first time this happened to me with a dragon. It looked like I was absorbing a soul from nowhere because the ashes kinda scattered down the steps of Mount Anthor.
Slow time is literally just the superior version of elemental fury. With elemental fury you're still moving very quickly but it can be easily percieved by the NPCs because only your weapons are enchanted. With slow time you enchant yourself and then you can use your enchanted weapons too
Clear Skies will cancel Alduin's meteor storm attack. Bump it up a bit. Storm Call will strike friendlies and innocents you get a big bounty if you're not careful. Elemental Fury can be used on a pickaxe to mine ore faster if you just hit the ore instead of activating it. Good at clearing the Stalhrim from the big Stalhrim source and all the Ebony in Raven Rock mine. Whirlwind Sprint Is good for getting away to quickly heal or quickly approach long distance enemies. You can also use it while encumbered so you can get around town easier. Then you can leave summon a horse then fast travel and continue selling your expensive goodies. This one definitely deserves more love.
Become Ethereal is really good for ritual spells like Mass paralysis and Fire Storm. Use all three words and gather a nice group of enemies then start casting before it runs out. Also the first word has such a short cooldown that you can use it when a dragon is breathing fire and it will be ready again before the dragon can breathe again normally.
First word duration is almost the same as the cooldown, so you can pretty much have it permanently enabled as well, with the Feim upgrade from our favourite mountain dwelling Dragon, you regenerate health (with some mods, also stamina and magicka) super quick which even offsets Vampire sunlight debuffs.
Whirlwind Sprint is best used to get to hard to reach places. There are _lots_ of hard to reach places in Skyrim. And there is always treasure in them.
I strongly disagree with your ratings. Clear Skies is one of the best aesthetic shouts out there, and if you use it at night, you get an Aurora Borealis, which is genuinely breathtaking. Additionally, because it forces weather effects to stop, you can use it in areas where the weather is used intentionally (See the Throat of The World) in order to get a view like no other. Whirlwind Sprint (SPRINT, not SPIRIT) is amazing for traversal, and is used in speed and challenge runs alike because of its ability to outright skip certain areas of the map, and Become Ethereal outright stops fall damage and allows you to dodge any enemy you don't think you can handle (this isn't important for normal playthroughs, but for challenge runs or places where you'd be particularly susceptible, it's MVP) I don't see how Kyne's Peace could be above any of those; even at level 5 or below, with no armor and horrible weapons, you can take on most if not all animals, especially with enough skill. You simply can't replicate the effects of Whirlwind Sprint, and could outright avoid a use of Kyne's Peace with Become Ethereal. To conclude, wtf are you smoking? Also, you had the time to make an 11 minute fully edited video, with sound effects, gameplay and all, but couldn't just boot up the game again to get the names of the shouts right?
the problem with Storm Call is that the lighting strikes don't discriminate against targets, so even friendly NPCs can (and most likely will) get hit. I like how it looks, I like the damage it deals, but is a bit risk to use in many situations, well, yes, "many" situations, which makes it more viable than I like to give it credit for, to be fair
Marked for death is OP, successive uses stacks too, to the point that any enemy could be killed with one hit with a wooden sword if you are patient enough.
if i were at the sovengarden drinking my beer minding my own business and someone shouted and then i had to tell the others to hold my beer id be pissed off
One thing that I do with the frost shout that makes me like It alot more is I like to combo it with chillrend and paralysis builds in general because if I'm on a very unlucky streak I can use it, wait for them to fall, and now they are locked into the getting up animation which gives me a bunch more chances to paralyze
i love drain vitality, by far my favorite shout. not only does it stun enemies but it drains them of everything they have. its less about the damage and more about giving you huge bonuses
Become Ethereal, Elemental Fury and Slow Time are actually all really amazing shouts, as is Ice Form. Become Ethereal lets you jump down from great heights without a care and lets your follower and summons do your dirty work without a hassle. Elemental Fury and Slow Time allow you to hit enemies much faster than they can hit back with unenchanted/enchanted weapons, increasing your relative DPS massively. And Ice Form can completely turn an outnumbered fight on its head by effectively stunning a large portion of the enemy army for an extended period of time.
I love become etherial because you don't take fall damage, you don't lose stamina, you don't take atack damage, the only downside is you can't atack, so it's great for traviling
Considering clear skies can be used to counter dragon shouts that call down storms or meteor showers (been a while give me a break) as well as stagger enemies around you and has an extremely low cooldown. This isn't the most useful in a vanilla game but with dragon overhaul mods and survival mode it becomes one of my top 5 shouts in the game.
I would rank throw voice into the most useless. You can have a very light weight bow in your inventory even if you are not an archer and just shoot an arrow where you want the targets to go looking. That shout is worth 10kg of carry capacity.
Storm call is one of my favorites since it is so powerful when you're overwhelmed (literally saved me in Skuldafn). BUT it does attack indiscriminately, so your followers may die...
you calling Whirlwind Sprint, Whirlwind Spirit had me second guessing myself as if it was a Mandela effect but no, you're just wrong and said Spirit instead of Sprint
I had the same problem happen in my first attempt at Skyrim, but instead of the shout, it was the ability you get when you level up blocking that slows time temporarily. Did it in a cave against a spider and uh... time stayed slow... and I went slowly mad as I realized that I could never really participate in the world around me normally and then suddenly reality crumbled in on itself and the universe ended and now here we are in another save... oh well lol, that's Bethesda alright
Real 1000+ hours players know that whirlwind sprint can break so many dungeons. For example, in lost knife hideout (I think that’s wrong but whatever) if you climb on top of the rock after crossing the bridge, you can jump and use the shout to skip straight to the door with the end chest and boss Skyrims terrain was not thought out AT ALL and I love if
I will say though clear skies is mad useful if you’re playing with survival mode on and you’re trying to not freeze to death. Gets rid of snow and rain in a snap
Dismay's more of a tactical thing If you are outclassed or outnumbered it can give you time to go after more dangerous opponents, heal up, reposition yourself or even just run away. Very useful if you are playing on Legendary and your character is still a milkdrinker
I understand that Slow Time does not have very much functionality in the screen mode version of the game but in VR it is one of the best without a doubt. The main reason is primarily because in Skyrim VR there is no limit on Bow drawback speed. This allows you to absolutely pelt any living thing with Arrows and is essentially an instant win in 90% of the scenarios you may encounter.
Ethereal is pretty OP in my.opinion I just hang out next to enemies as they tire themselves out or dispense their majicka then blast them with a power attack, shout, spell, whatever. Great way to get in close against powerful mages when you're a scrub level fighter. Top 3 😁
Clear Skies: Nerfs Alduin's AoE Meteor Storm Shout, makes Survival Mode viable for non-Nords, stuns enemies while barely costing any time Longbrow: IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING
Battle fury combined with a mff mod so you can have a party. Also someone did a healer only challenge with follower tweaks mod and if you make a challenge where you buff and heal allies. Illusion, restoration, perhaps alteration so you can paralyze enemies. Also conjuration yo summon a undead army would be awesome. A leader that commands people to fight for him or you could do a lazy king build.
