hey guys ! if youre gonna use spoons and cups for sticky things ( honey, molasses, etc ), you should lightly oil or grease them so it comes out easier and avoids mismeasurements or waste. cooking spray normally works fine for me, and doesn't leave a bad flavour or taste !
George, I legitimately almost pissed myself laughing at how awkward the two of you were about cracking an egg. I know y'all have cracked eggs before but the sheer awkwardness made it seem like you've never touched an egg before in your life. Love this content :)
If you guys are gonna do more baking, I'd definitely suggest one of you investing in an electric hand mixer. It'll make things like icing soooo much easier.
You just gave me an idea... What if a group killed a dragon, cut it up, started roasting it, just as they are about to start carving, the Dragonborn walks by and eats the soul leaving only the bones...
George rides the train with a backpack full of Mason jars of white powder XD "Honestly, officer, It's flour. I'm gonna bake some sweet rolls. Is that not a thing?"
These cook videos are literally the best things on youtube in my opinion right now! I made the Nuka-Cola Quantum a week ago and cant wait to actually try it! and I'm freacking over ecstatic for this one!!! (probably bake some tomorrow if i have all the ingredients) I've been playing skyrim since its release and cant wait to to stare at one in game and think to my self, 'I know what you taste like Mr. SweatRoll!" Please keep making more of these videos!
I like George's thinking! You guys should do the recipe then make another smaller batch with your own spin if you have any ideas. Ie lemon sweet rolls!
Me: Lydia! I made sweet rolls from scratch! Here, try one ......why are you chewing it so slowly? Is it THAT good? Lydia: ymfs mw thnn....😖 ....ih hss sunch a nss crmnch!....(with effort) MMMMMM.....😣 Me: **throws out the rest of the batch**
Cringiest egg cracking I've ever experienced... But I'm excited to know that I can make all my favorite Skyrim snacks! I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed this book *starts shopping online*
That egg cracking was delightfully awkward. But the final product looks good. Use a whisk for icing, or better yet an electric mixer. In a pinch, a fork works too. Just... not a spoon. And for mixing the batter, use a spoon. Not a spatula. But for a first attempt at baking it was pretty successful! Good on ya.
Well..you might want to have used just a tiny bit of cooking oil on the bundt roll mold to help them come out easier..also I know they sent you the molds but they look a little more like...fancy donuts than sweet rolls from the game..a deeper mold may have been better to get the taller look they have from the series...even from what I can see in the book looks like they used a deeper mold than the one they sent you guys. Just my two Septims, I am looking forward to my copy..I pre-ordered my copy the moment I saw it on Amazon back in December..it'll look real nice next to my Fallout and Feast of Ice and Fire cookbooks..I'm really hoping we finally get an official Black Briar Mead recipe in this..I know the fans have been trying for ages to figure out something close to what they describe the taste as in game. Sure making actual mead takes...months but at the very least if they give us what amounts to a quick version with the right flavors..we'll figure the rest out for ourselves.
A good rule of thumb in baking is mix all the dry ingredients first, (i.e salt yeast flour) and then then liquids like the milk butter and egg. That way everything mixes better
If you do get peice of shell in in future, try using a bigger peice of shell to get it out. Shell attracts shell. I think there are some other methods too.
@@0periodproductions a tip for your next egg cracking experience, don't crack it on the side of the bowl. Just gently tap it against the counter to crack it a lil and then rip it open
Okay George we made our entire Thanksgiving meal from the Skyrim, Witcher and Star Wars Life Day cook books! You guys really need to get The Witcher Cookbook for full on meals! Also pick up the Dungeons and Dragons Cookbook!
Lemon. . . I know sweetrolls aren't native to Skyrim, but where would you grow a subtropical plant in Skyrim? Snowberries might be good as a topping though.
As he stirs the ingredients together with a turning spatula: "This is my first time baking!" Ya don't say 😂😂😂 I'm not being mean btw, just thought it was a cute and funny moment. Everyone's a beginner at something! Thanks for sharing the recipe with us. I can't wait for the official release of the cookbook 😍
Someone may have mentioned it before, but in future, when dealing with Sticky Substances such as Honey, Treacle or Molasses (Why you'd put this in food I don't know), dip the Spoon or Knife into a cup of Warm Water, it makes said Substance come off the Spoon or Knife a lot easier.
Glasses guy looks a bit like Chapper from a Danish children TV show that aired for a very very limited period. I can't remember much other than that I thought Chapper was an extremely cool and friendly dude.
I like this. In lack of anything concrete, I watched different videos, how they made sweetrolls, and from that Basis kinda came up with my own receipe. I'll definetelly try this one out at some point. A little tip: don't know if you already did this, but if you apply the icing while the sweetroll is still hot from the oven, it will probably run a bit more/easier. At least it's that way with the icing I always use, which is just powdered sugar with lemon juice, mixed to a thick paste.
yo ik, this video is a few years old, but here is a little tip when baking: when cooking with flour, try sifting the flour first as it'll help with lumps and make mixing a lot easier, The same goes for the powdered sugar; sifting it would help with it clumping and allowed you to stir a lot easier. also when cooking with baking pans put a light coat of melted butter in the pan as it'll help with sticking a lot and prevent breaking! (sorry if these have already been mentioned)
Guys guys guys. Okay first of all crack the egg flat on the counter to avoid the shell pushing in and contaminating the white and yolk. Second, make sure the milk isn't so hot to scramble the egg when you add it, mix with a spoon for more thorough mixing. And even though they are silicone bundtpans, you should always butter and flour them so your sweet rolls don't stick.
I will be forever set that a week ago in Skyrim I managed to thieve an entire house, but the moment I went to pick up a sweet roll on the table, I got arrested. :O
