Making 13 tricks on board 1 was super easy for me. Won lead in dummy to get rid of my D2. That made all my trumps in both hands high, no chance of overruffs. So, HA, H ruff, C ruff, H ruff (now hearts were all good), C ruff, SA, gather trumps, SK, 13 tricks. An almost 100% line for 6D, and a huge chance (I estimate it at over 70%) of making 7, either if HQ falls doubleton, or if hearts split 4-3, or even if there is a S/H squeeze on West.
1. I'm annoyed because I used a slightly different sequence and did not get a 6C response to 4NT. I stopped in 5S which turned out to be a horrible contract. I proceeded to follow this up with a failed slam bid on the next hand and missed slam on #4.
Thanks again for the insight. I think there’s a squeeze on board 1 for 13 tricks and an endplay on board 3 for an 3xtra trick, as east is marked with all the points.
On board 8 there's a cool psychological play of winning AD, playing KS then a low heart towards the ten, hoping that slips by and you can then pitch a diamond on a spade and then take the club finesse
Just about scraped 50% on this one. 3N+2 seemed better than the field on 1, 6H-lots on 2, just +1 on 3, same on 4, only just made on 5, 5D-1 on 6 after weird auction, only +1 on 7 after thinking a heart finesse was an unnecessary risk and never taking one, then same on 8. Rough couple of weeks.
How did that happen on board 5?? He didn't pitch a heart against me either and played exactly the same way as you. Aren't the robots programmed to play the same way every time? If not it makes it a bit of a lottery
At trick 3 a club play is clearly indicated, establishing at least 8 tricks if the club ace is with West and 7 tricks if it is with East and East has all the remaining hearts. The diamonds can wait. There is little point taking the diamond finesse at trick 3 establishing 7 tricks. Pete got 100% and 8 tricks because East got squeezed on the run of the diamonds, but this was certainly lucky due to the doubleton queen of spades with West.
@@rainerherrmann7025 Agreed - but I didn't say take the D finesse immediately though. It can wait and by all means play a club first - but the point i made is correct - its still nailed on. Playing the club up gives a decent chance at 9 tricks (and you actually make more if the robot continues clubs). The scores on this are always weird anyway - cos it just takes another 14 random players. I also got 100% on bd 5 -the first time round.
