I called Regina as the killer. I didn't think she was Margaret's daughter though I assumed she was her sister but I called it from the first episode that she was The Widow! We needed an extra episode to wrap everything up.
I couldn’t agree more Benjamin I feel like we needed another episode to fully wrap things up. It ends and leaves more questions than answers to be honest.
This is my favorite season now! I like that the killer won and got away this time. It was a different ending and they did a good job making me root for the widow. It is the first season I figured out the killer before the reveal, that was a little disappointing, but maybe on purpose... Not sure. Great season overall!
The definitely did a different ending and I agree with you. I like the way that it wrapped up for the widow because it made sense after all those years. I wish I just went around things are different way but I’m so glad to hear that this is your favourite season so far, that is awesome to hear :-)
Now that I have finished the season...I was right! Absolutely loved it! My 2nd favorite season just behind Solstice. Loved the atmosphere, the backstory, the acting, the soundtrack, the kills and The Widow was one hell of a killer. I didn't expect the random parkour in Ep 7 but was dope as hell. And I love that Kenneth fought her twice, and got wrecked both times. This was the horror/martial arts combo I needed, but didn't know I wanted. Clare McConnell was fantastic in the last episode. The way her facade drops to reveal her true self was fantastic. And that final kill was...Chef's kiss. It felt cathartic and powerful in every way. Clare killed it and I loved the line "Basil Garvey and his friends raped, tortured and murdered my mother. And because of who they were, nothing was done." Now this was true revenge for a good reason.

My partner’s favourite season was Solstice too, so you that in common. I like how the Widow did attack Kenneth more than once, and both times outfought him, leading to his potential death twice. I’m glad Basil got what was coming to him, he deserved it and he got his just desserts. It was a brutal death and I agree, I like Clare McConnell, I thought she was great throughout and did a good part.
I enjoyed the season, but I thought it was pretty predictable that Regina was the Widow, and pretty self-explanatory. How did no one suspect her? The killer in the movie was a widow and she was a widow too. If margareth had a daughter, how could they not suspect that the daughter was doing justice and how could they not recognize Regina?
Hey Lucas! I couldn’t agree more and when scenes would happen with The Widow or that initial photograph from 12 years ago, Regina was never in one photo, which just made it incredibly suspicious from the word go 😂
i agree. there was no exact direct connection to Margaret’s daughter ever up until the end. i suspected andrew, the preachers son, as his dad was framed & killed for the death of margaret. it would’ve been in true slasher fashion, like solstice. the main story was about kit but the motive was to avenge the mother of the Rijkers.
Yeah the ending was very underwhelming unfortunately. I guess the detective was real cool that it was simco. He was happy to place the cuffs on anyone he suspected throughout.
the ending was super duper confusing to me.. it seemed rushed. we suddenly find out margaret had a daughter.. out of nowhere.. then when the killer is revealed to be Regina.. i was confused cos instead of being startled by the reveal, the others help kill Basil.. i get letting the killer live as she technically fulfilled her purpose for killing. but like.. she’s a murderer😀.

Verdi had some killer instincts already, and she prolly had connections to Regina since what she did to her sisters helped the widows a lot. The maid was constantly beaten and considering the time that the show was set, violence wasn't really that much of an uncommon thing. The preacher was friends with the widow all along
I was worried from the seance that it might turn out that magic was real. There were only two explanations. Either Regina got possessed which would have ruined the genre or she was the widow. It’s not set in the late 1900s btw. I watched your video to find out what happened to the middle sister. I thought I must have missed the kill. It was all a bit rushed. Loved the other 4 seasons. Liked this one.

I was expecting one of the Botticelli sisters to be the killer, and for a second, my hopes of Paula Brancatti as a killer were nearly a reality lol. Best season in my opinion and it also had probably the best cast. However, Judith Berry (Season 2's killer) still remains as my favorite killer in the anthology. And the kills (Specifically Enid's and Israel's), made me truly cringe and/or want to puke. Top 3 favorite characters: 1. Dr. Melinda Israel 2. Georges Rondeau 3. Solome

Just finished this season - and I agree with other comments that it was too obvious that Regina was the killer. It was clearly going to be either her or the priest (son of the hanged man 12 years ago) - or possibly them both working together, like the brother and sister in S3. I haven't seen Flesh & Blood (S4) yet but so far Guilty Party (S2) is by far my favourite season.

I completely agree that Regina being the one responsible was obvious as she was never in the scene when someone else was who was murdered. The preists son could have also done it but given the fact that a religious figure would deter that I’m guessing! Awesome to hear that season 2 is your favourite so far, it’s a good season and I like how they’re all different. Flesh and Blood I’d recommend as it’s mostly good but the ending wasn’t the best
I dont really have any questions, only why the detective joined the final kill. I get he was already over everything, but actually joining and killing Basil in that brutal way, after 7 episodes of him virtuing for justice? Doesnt sit well for me. Also, the killer actually getting away with it isn't something new for the show. Season 2 did the same with Judice escaping and waiting for (I forgot her name) after she goest to the police to surrender herself.
I literally just realized why they had to have the priest join in at the end... I think the only reason for him to help kill Basil was just because the writers wanted Verdi to legally get all of Basil's stuff, so they needed to have the priest be in on it, so he could forge the marriage license (certificate? Which is it?). And the maid may have been for the same reason; to sign as a witness. (With Regina being the other witness).
I realize that may be thinking way more about it than the writers did. They may have just not thought that far ahead, and I'm just seeing explanations that aren't really there for questions nobody would probably even think about. I'm pretty high, though. So, it's possible. But, I think it makes sense. Like, I probably wouldn't be surprised if they actually said that was the reason.
I think you definitely think about it more than the writers but that’s not a bad thing because I had flaws with the season and thought ‘why haven’t the writers included this or did this instead’ moments. What you say about the priest being involved does also make sense and with the history for families and what Basil did to the priest was awful
It’s been a while since I last saw this season but I’m gonna be completely honest, I was rooting for Terrance to survive since (again been a while so I could be wrong) he didn’t seem like a target for the Widow and was actually kinder than some of the characters he interacted with, even going as far as to try and stop the sisters scheme just to end up killed by Salome. So when the Widow did her thing with Salome, I was cheering on alongside her. Again I could be wrong with Terrance’s character.
It’s definitely an interesting season even if it doesn’t all work. I mean I don’t remember be that much of it as it’s been months and been a lot of stuff after then! The Terrance character from what I remember wasn’t too bad
I started to get into it when I realized none of the people who were targets could've been the killer even people who seemed decent like the medical examiner but really weren't seeing those flashback and the cruel things they did to Margaret I knew all them were going to die and someone on the outside was the killer

I actually really enjoyed this season, it had an interesting storyline and it might be my 3rd favorite season. I was a bit sad when Vinicia ( I believe that’s how you spell her name ) died because I really liked her but I’m glad Paula was able to finally survive a season with her being a main character. I would rank the seasons like: 1. Guilt Party 2. The Executioner 3. The Ripper 4. Solstice 5. Flesh & Blood

When a man is that rich and powerful, that he can send young women at an isolated location for rape and abuse. A man that people believe in, not matter how corrupt and obviously evil he is. A man with no respect for Black people or transgender women. A man with multiple failed marriages... Wait a fucking second.......
The kills were kinda lack luster for me, in this one. 💯 Sad because a season called ripper should be awesome. Idk the prior seasons i like waaaay more. Not horrible trash but the weakest season for sure. 😔😔

The best explanation would be: Plot hole. He was most likely the one who "sold" Regina's mother. Let's not forget that Margaret Mehar was a whore before all of this and she was working for someone else. Also, he was there at the party, so he was most likely involved...
I enjoyed it but this was probably only better than the 4th season. Was a bit boring at times. The sister element of the show was utterly pointless and so frustrating to watch.
Yeah I couldn’t agree more Robbie. The sister element was annoying, terrible and didn’t really add anything to the plot, terrible side story 😂 I preferred the 4th season lol
