I remember, ( being a professional ex-musician for decades myself ), talking with Araya back in the 80’s over some beers and tequila shots. I mentioned I noticed several issues they might have had and he said it’s intentional. They have always strived for controlled chaos. This is why you’ll hear shit with the guitars that sound off. It’s on purpose.

What you said towards the end is why I would recommend Studio versions first. I've seen them live over 20 times and they could have good nights and bad nights honestly. Some Nights seemed like they weren't into it or they were kind of sloppy and off. Other nights they were all together and just killed it like no other. So you're not sure what you're going to get with different live versions. Check multiple live versions out on your own after you've reacted to the studio version Maybe :) SLAYER

Super cool that reacting to this stuff is getting you to play the bass again. Keep it up love hearing your bass intros. And Dave Lombardo the drummer definitely killed it in this performance. I would recommend Studio versions for Slayer first. Try at dawn they sleep, post-mortem, or really any song off the hell awaits album. Most reactors only react to about two or three songs from the Reign in Blood album.

if you want pit from Slayer, you need too check out some of their earlier recordings from 80's, for instance Chemical Warfare

Pits don't open up at Slayer shows. They look more like when you blow on a hill of ants and they all go crazy. They don't do that Wall of Death thing where everybody splits apart and then runs at each other. They have Circle pits. And they're the most intense in all of metal.
