The cool thing about Dave is that he's fine playing Bostaph songs (notice they play a lot of Bostaph songs), not like other a**holes that have too much pride and refuse to play somebody else's song or don't put much effort into them. But Dave makes them sound much better, he's the best.
I absolutely love the way dave lombardo has taken one of the best songs Paul bostaph played the drums on and just made it that bit more aggressive and frantic, it's absolutely amazing and you can see how much dave enjoyed playing it, it was already amazing but the fact that it's written in a similar way to daves style in the first place just makes it that bit more aggressive and frantic and just damn slayer just goes to show exactly how much dave was to the proper sound and style of slayer, even though Paul is brilliant and spot on with the drumming, when you hear how much more visceral and violent the song is when dave is playing it, DAVE LOMBARDO, is half the sound of slayer, just listen to all the music that dave recorded with them and you can see why they had a massive resurgence in 2002,when dave came back to the band, such a shame they couldn't of closed out with him behind the kit, to me it was almost like half a slayer sound on repentless, the fact that Jeff had died and wasn't putting his stamp on the album is obvious the only way they could have sounded as they should is if Dave was on the repentless album, it really needed dave to make it sound more like slayer, loosing 50%of the the original members is just to much when it comes to the real frantic and violent edge that dave and Jeff brought to the band.
I have to respectfully disagree. Every fiber of my being knows how to move with how Paul played this and, yes Dave is Dave…he’s not Paul here. In the same way Paul played old shit but not in a Dave way.
Legend has it Dave Lombardo ate 4 grown Elephants raw, bones and all, after this show to get back all the calories he burned off during this insane performance.
God Hates us All is the angriest Slayer album in my opinion. Is not the heaviest, is not the fastest, is not the most technical but it's totally driven by sheer hatred and anger. I absolutely ove it

Damn I miss these four performing together, when Jeff sadly died ,I thought at least Dave is back so they will still be able to sound as they should with Gary doing a great job as the new member , but when they screwed Dave again and got Paul back and announced they were recording a new album ,well I thought there's no way it will sound like proper slayer , and for me it didn't , it was like Tom and Kerry had started a new band , they needed Dave's ear big time to make relentless work , Paul's great but his writing style didn't suit slayer for the most part .
