Beautiful little creek and beautiful trout. I grew up on a cattle ranch in western Alberta, in an unincorporated district called Ricinus, near the foothills of the eastern Rocky Mountains. We had approximately 400 to 500 head of cattle at varying times on two and a half sections of land, (one section = approximately one square mile) and one section had a creek running through it that was maybe a little bigger than the one in your video. We cleared the trees around the creek for cattle grazing, mainly deciduous aspen, birch & poplar trees, but we made sure to leave about a 100 foot buffer zone of trees on both sides of the creek in order to guarantee the integrity of the creek. We didn't want to impact or even potentially destroy the creek by removing all the shade and cover and rooted trees around the creek. There were also a couple of beaver dams with pools maybe 50 feet in diameter which seemed to contain the bigger trout. I'd say the trout averaged around the same size as the trout in your video, maybe slightly larger. The biggest I caught was a rainbow in one of the beaver dam pools and was about 20-21 inches long. Having a creek abundant with wild rainbow and cutthroat on your own land and in a creek you can throw a line into any time you want and almost always guarantee yourself a fish, is a privilege that defies description. It wasn't really suited for fly casting because of all the close tree cover, so I always used spoons and I was successful with just about any I tried. My best friend though was a red and white Dardevle. Me and those Dardevles have remained close our entire lives. 😆 Sorry for the long post. I just got triggered by the trout and the stream. Another great video. Thanks.
Your channel has the stuff it takes to be one of the greats! Hang in there and do what you do best , the views will come sooner or later. Here's wishing you all the success you deserve. One day hopefully you'll hit the million plus!
I am on holiday for awhile but I'll not miss anything . Big or small Or huge it's all about trout fishing ! Something I absolutely love to do ! Thumbs-up young man great catch !
you should try fishing Olallie lake oregon, it burned down a few years ago in a wildfire and nobody goes up anymore so all the fish keep eating with no pressure and have gotten massive.
Had a lot of success on my local river last night. No rain for a few weeks and then a downpour yesterday morning. Managed to land 4 solid 3lb brownies. Great vid man. Respect from Northern Ireland 🤙🏻🍻♠️
Thats a 10 bearing reel, the best you can buy. I recently switched from the Ugly stick to an Ocuma SST 7' lightweight rod. With a President reel it will throw a 16th ounce jig 20' farther! I also switched from fluorocarbon to Zebco Cajun low-vis Ragen Red 4lb test line. Casts farther and zero bird nests. Might need to order online, but worth it!
Oh all the reels I've owned, (besides an extremely expensive one that i won in a tournament) the Pflueger President is my absolute favorite. It's not cheap, its not expensive, and it'll hang with the best of them 👍
Man I really enjoy your fishing, and cooking . Iam up here in Montana and also have great fishing been trying some of your recipes love it all.keep up the good work .
Got a creek that's a 10 minute walk from where I live. Got curious and a little later I get a bite from a big 14 inch brook trout from a jig. I Was so surprised to find any fish let alone a pretty big brook trout. Never know what's in these creeks especially with what Biggins they hold. Found a nice new fishing spot right next to me on top of having decent fish to take home and eat.
Hey my exact rod and reel combo. Presidential 30 and gx2 ugly stick. I fish mice tails in Los vaqueros reservoir in Brentwood ca. the trout love those mice tails!
We have several Pfluger reels both that size and the next one larger. too much line on the reel, least at least 1/8 inch unfilled. Suffix 832 braid works great (maybe a leader for trout). I use 10lb for bass and walleye. I would use 6 lb on trout.
Great video, so fun to watch. I get not sharing your spots but the scenery is so beautiful, I’m just curious the state? We live in North Idaho and it looks like southern Idaho in your video. I’m SO curious!
Bro Love the videos. I fish the provo, but it is running so hard the last MOUNTH , went to Schofield and it was ok. Any suggestions on some good river, streams right now?
Went to the license area today and the rainbows were so annoying, there were 4 huge ones just chilling and eating domething, i tried literally everything and they did nothing but dodge the flys and lures, then when i looked away isaw that a rainbow ate my fly and i missed the hookset🥲there went that chance, hope i get another try tomorrow
