Six years later, I finally bring you episode 4 of Sleepin' with Pete, one of my most requested videos ever. For the return in my new format, I sit down with a random issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) from February 2002 to read articles, judge game reviews and appreciate amazing full page ads from one of the best years to be a gamer, all in a much lower and relaxing tone to help you get to sleep with an ASMR style voice. Thanks to all the people that offered kind words on how this series helped you get to sleep over the years. I hope you enjoy the revival of Sleepin' With Pete!

Pete did you have fun making this video? I hope so, because we loved it! I grew up w these magazines as well, and still have a small collection, and it is such a tine warp to go through them. The art and advertisements you cannot beat. I would love for this to be a continuing series. Especially because you have so much knowledge about alot of these games, i enjoy your commentary and insight. Cant wait for the next one!

Pete, I've been a fan of yours since the All Gen Gamers podcast and your earlier days way back in 2012. Your AGG and solo RU-vid content has helped distract me during a very traumatic and arduous ten years or so. As someone who doesn't watch livestreams, I very rarely visit Twitch, but whenever I see you upload on your channel it makes me so happy. I'm having the hardest time of my life right now and boy did seeing a new string of videos AND a Sleepin' with Pete just slap a giant, stupid smile on my face. I appreciate everything you're doing on here and I hope it continues regularly. Just wanted to leave another comment... I've been listening to this for days in chunks (because I usually fall asleep within 5 minutes lol) and this format is so awesome. I hope you upload some more - it's really cool to hear the "time capsule" contained within these magazines. Some old PlayStation Magazines would be killer. It would be cool to hear the contents of the demo disc that came with each issue.

This is so good and I hope you keep doing them. I liked the fun trivia question on "what game do you think was the top seller in Oct. 2001," it's perfect for helping with sleep as thinking about that kind of thing has a "counting sheep" effect. I think this is a great format going through these magazines as I definitely prefer longer-form ASMR videos. Also I appreciate you only doing pre-roll ads for these. I never understand why other ASMR channels think it's a good idea to put mid-roll ads in that jerk you awake.

I like this format. I threw it on while grinding in DQ8 and it was nice background noise and didn't overpower the music. EGM was my magazine back in the day. Good pick.

this was really great. fell asleep with it a couple times, did my treadmill walks with it a couple times and it worked perfectly in both situations to be slightly engaging to make the walking go by quick and calming to fall asleep to. I love seeing these old magazines because my family would not let me subscribe to anything when I was young so I only ever got my hands on gaming magazines via an occasional game informer I would buy at the game stop check out. So for my favorite years of gaming on PS2 and whatnot I never got to look at these. Kind of shocking to see JRPGs just catching shit for no reason, kind of explains why we eventually barely got any localized for a while, I'm sure some gamers were misled by articles like these

I had game informer back when it was jam packed like electronic gaming monthly. That magazine used to be just as good as the big boys. Magazines have been dying for a decade now so every year game informer gets smaller but they are the only ones still really going besides retro gaming and pc gaming magazines. Game informer used to have all the same corny articles and ads and top ten japanese games. Good times. I used to read them over and over again. Had a membership a couple years ago and because of the internet I flipped through the magazines like once and it was depressing lol
