Yeah, I noticed this the last few years also, I will start off on the right side because that's the side to get in and my cat joins me; then after 10 mins or so, I do a rotisserie turn over and straight to sleep.
Hey man I don't know if you'll see this comment but I'm 41 years old and I just been diagnosed with heart failure and all your videos are so supporting and I really thank you for everything you've done I know I have to make a lot of lifestyle changes and because of what I did when I was younger I'm dealing with the consequences but you make me feel like I have a chance and no doctor has made me feel that way
Yes, I too remember them saying to sleep on a particular side for that reason. It’s been 24 years ago and I couldn’t recall which side they said. Glad he shared this with us.
Also when you are having labor pains @ the hospital. Lay on your left side until the labor pains start up again. When the labor pain pauses lay back on your left side. Keep repeating until the baby is born. It helps the heart. ❤ Amen ❤ I learned this about 35 year's ago.
You have that because you eat too much sugar, carbs and plants. Your stomach wants to get rid of them in the most quickest way without move them through all intestines.
Wow, He gives valuable Info, and does not make you listen to a half hour promo & require a monthly charge on your credit card before giving any help. He's a Real Dr., Thank you sir, & God bless you!
Sleeping on your right side, also known as the right lateral position, may be best for people with heart problems. This position can help maintain the heart's stability and relieve cardiac strain. It also moves the heart further away from the chest wall, which can help prevent the heart from being pressed against it. Some studies have found that people with heart failure often prefer to sleep on their right side. This could be a protective mechanism because the left-side sleeping position can cause discomfort due to the sensation of the heart beating against the chest wall
Well that just went against everything he just said. He said sleep on the left side. Yogis say sleep on your back is the only n proper way. I sleep on my right and I have heart issues and back issues as well as sleep apnea and I'm fluffy.
You are correct. When I worked in the ICU and had really unstable cardiac patients, putting them on their left side was always tenuous, and when I worked in hospice if somebody wasn’t moving along and walking through the veil, shifting them over to their left side…they’d pass.
"Research from the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) suggests that sleeping on your right side may help the brain's waste clearance system work better. ", is missing from this video.
That’s interesting for sure. When I sleep on my left side and wake up my chest/heart area hurts. I’ve always thought it was angina but really don’t know. I prefer the right side.
@@richardpage5812 I seem to naturally gravitate toward keeping in my right side, even if I start out consciously on my left. But I'm going to try to train myself to default to the left side for health's sake.
Me too. I fall asleep faster and for longer on my left side 😴. Now I've tried it with my grandson, and he stays asleep for longer, too. That is, if nothing wakes him up 😊
Sleeping on your back is the healthiest position. Sleeping on your left or right side can damage the shoulder. The weight literally compresses the nerves causing damage. Many people wake up during the night with numb arms. This is also my field. Most Dr's would not agree with this video.
@@duke613Just finished a sleep study and was told by my neurologist my breathing is too shallow on my back, and he recommended I sleep on my left side…just saying.
@@cherylmcnutt9905 Raising your head can help you breathe better when on your back. Try a wedge pillow. Or an electric bed put the head up where you feel comfortable. And raise the knees at least slightly… to remove pressure on your back.
Actually as we learned in the school of n. Medicine ( sleeping on the right side is the ideal way ) and the opposite is right sleeping on the left side you’ll putting the heart in danger .
Dr Mandel you are such a blessing. I went to see a cardiologist, he walked in the room, greeted me warmly, told me not to eat pizza, fried, foods, sugary drinks, stay active, my blood pressure was high, take my medicine and he'll see me in 3 months.
Bravo doc!!! Im 69 and been doing this all my life, staying on the path of longevity is a way of life for me its nice to know that i chose the natural way to sleep, bravo
❤❤ thank you for caring and trying to help others.. there are too many people want you to pay for very important information. It's more bless than to receive. May God bless you all the days of your life Amen and Hallelujah ❤❤
Wow, who would’ve known this very important information without Dr Mandela? I actually tend to favour my left side when sleeping. I assumed that it was because I’m left-handed, however I never knew that this had been beneficial to my health. Thank you Dr M ❤God bless you ❤
I’m right handed, and I favor my left side to sleep on; one of my sisters told me this along time ago; in her early respiratory therapist years, but lately, I thought I might ought to rotate from side to side, however, I always end up on the left side.😊
@@roseslipper8305I have arthritis everywhere from a DUI driver hitting me head on and turning my Sedan into a tin can 24 years ago. I sleep on my left side and it's the most full of Arthritis. You'll be fine.
Dr Mandel thank you so much for your greatness!! I have been sleeping on my left side without knowing the benefits of it. But now I’m suffering neck pain, shoulder pain, shoulder blade pain, chest pain, ribs pain, hip pain all in the left side, I tried chiropractor, physical therapy, massage but not medication and injection yet….im not sleeping on my left side anymore. Thank you for your service.
@@cherylmcnutt9905except he said sleeping on your left side means your body weight isn’t compressing on your heart which it being more on your left side means being on your left side has more body weight above it, thus is contradictory to what he said.
I'm a big believer in your own body knowing/telling you what's best for you if you pay close attention to your own instincts. Everyone is different & what maybe fine for one person may not be, for another. ( For e.g. while a woman is pregnant her own body tells her what the baby needs nutritionally by the cravings she will have ... and sometimes these cravings are seemingly for the most unusual things & vary for different women etc And if someone is ill the body tells them when to sleep, eat, drink, not eat and so on and so on. What may be correct for one person may be detrimental to another. People just aren't used to (really) paying attention to their own body's as much nowadays. ( just my opinion )
MAGNESIUSM GLYCINATE !!!!!! I have been feeling as horrible as can be for weeks, took a little bit of the magnesium and I simply couldn’t believe how I just woke up feeling 2 hrs ago
I am so happy to hear this! I’m 76 years old, and have a gigantic hernia in my stomach and suffered from a blockage. They don’t want to do surgery because of my age and my health ever since I’ve been living in this motel I can only sleep on my left side, mostly because the bed is so high I can barely get up into it. Thank you doctor for this information. I feel a lot better now.
This statement about not being able to do surgery because you are old I don't understand. I am going to die anyway, try the surgery. If I don't survive it, I don't but if I do then I am in better health.
Maybe they think it is not worth it to spend the money on old people. We are worthless anyway but atleast they could put us to sleep as they do with dogs and ends our suffering.
Check out this search here for this therapy: wirbelsäulen basis ausgleich. By a German man. This is the only thing that has helped me i have 7 hernias and I am able to dance and do gym. Good luck. This will help your back. And eating well (no carbs plus iodine)
25 years ago while pregnant with my son, my blood pressure was slightly elevated so the doctor advised me to sleep on my left side while in the hospital… Thanks Doc! I continue to do so till this day! 💯
You are a beautiful person I so respect everything that you do for all of us God bless you I really love what you are you are an angel helping so many God bless you
Ja-jeg er fra DANMARK-jeg synes også du er meget troværdig-og VED NOGET OM DET DU UDTALER DIG OM. Tak for rigtig god inspiration og lærdom! Tak for forklaringerne. TAK🍺🍺FRA 💜🇩🇰SUSAN
I find this interesting.. Presently I've been having some palpitations and occasional heart spasms. I feeling some discomfort sleeping on my left , fearing that extra body weight and pressure might worsen my heart condition....
I totally agree with this recommendation. I have been sleeping on my left side for years now. When I shift to the right side I immediately get heartburn. Thank you for informing and advising us.
I know the Creator is working!! I just received this after tossing half the night then changing from my back to my left side!!! Woke up running and feeGREAT!!
When I was an RN at Duke Hospital, the Drs. always told our patients to sleep similar in fetal position as in a mother's womb . They claim it is always the correct way to sleep. It's much better for the body . That was 55 years ago, and Im still sleeping this way.
@claudiascott6484 Sorry for the delay, Claudiascott. It doesn't matter one way or the other, which side but a comfortable pillar should be placed under the head when lying in a fetal position, so oxygen and blood pressure flow evenly throughout the body. And if you are very slim, then you may also need a small pillow between knees and ankles bone so there's no pressure or pain that can be uncomfortable. I hope this helps, dear. ❤️
