I'm not kidding every day is like halloween in Ireland. Our summer this year was nonexistent. Not that I'm complaining because autumn is my favorite time of year and you're absolutely spot on this movie needs to be watched on a cold dark evening to fully appreciate it. Of all the clothing to see in Primark. It's actually great to hear that you can actually get Sleepy Hollow clothing. I wouldn't mind picking up a T-shirt or two. If you have the optium Blu-ray then trust me when I say you are getting a monster upgrade with this 4K release and trust me your wallet will thank me in the end. The movie has this stylistic look which I love. Could you imagine watching Sleepy Hollow and it full of color and life. It would probably be one of the worst movies ever made. The 4K transfer massively enhances this movie as well. I never knew it could look this good

Ah yes the old stacking discs on top of each other pain in the ass I hate that as well they done that with the Avatar 4K releases as well stacked discs on top of each other

The Steelbook is a strange release and why they have the discs stacked like that I honestly don't know because I have the mediabook that's the exact same as the Steelbook and the disc are not housed that way. The standard release looks fantastic and I honestly can't praise the 4K transfer any more than I have in this video and if you are a fan trust me you need to pick this up. Hey Michael. As you know yourself I was massively relieved to see Sleepy Hollow get this kind of treatment but honestly I never thought it was going to look this good. To be a contender for best 4K transfer of the year I never seen it coming. Like I said in the video it is my favorite Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie and I can't tell you how ecstatic I am that It turned out as well as it did. The only downside is the lack of special features which was a shame. I never realized Ennio Marricone was credited for the music as well. That makes a lot of sense especially when you consider that he done the music for the thing and that's another movie dripping with atmosphere. Not forgetting as well that Francis Ford Coppola produced this movie as well. It was always going to be a success in the end. A huge thanks as always Michael for stopping by. I like the artwork on the Bruce Lee Editions but I have the boxset and there's no way I'm picking them up.

No question about it David and normally I would have left it close to Halloween to watch it but I couldn't resist

There would be one or two scenes of flashing lights but nothing too aggressive.

In all fairness Stephen I am sure the hdr10 was more than capable of handling the color that you see in this movie. It would have been fantastic to see Dolby Atmos on the release but as I said the 5.1 DTS handles the sound perfectly. Great to hear that you picked up the Steelbook of it. It's a bit of an anomaly that release.

Hey Robert. I forgot to say it in the video but yes that is a Blu-ray Media book and I just didn't see the point of picking up the Steelbook considering that both are identical. That's why I opted for the standard. You are going to be ecstatic when you see the 4K transfer. Jaw dropping good.

That is Sleepy Hollow in a nutshell. It's insanely dark and trust me it's meant to look that way. It just adds to the atmosphere and I really do hope you enjoy watching it

Trust me Colum if there is ever a blu ray that is worth upgrading it is Sleepy Hollow because it is quite shocking how bad it looks. The 4K is a revelation and I can't recommend it enough

Yes the house edition is nsm records and my god what a release that is. Honestly I never thought it was going to happen because it's been delayed so many times. Didn't realize the box set itself was going to be as big as it is. Cannot wait to check out the 4K releases on all four. I stop by and checked out your video this morning and the Steelbook is a strange anomaly. It's almost like a mixture of a Steelbook and mediabook. Looks fantastic though

I'm sometimes forget to comment when it comes to the Blu-ray releases on some of these Editions mainly because I am focused on the 4K release. The good news is the Blu-ray that you get in this edition is not the optimum release. It's the one that came out from paramount and even though the Paramount version looks a hell of a lot better than the optimum release it still has its issues in terms of the dreaded DNR. It's by no means a bad looking picture and if you do have the optimum release you definitely are getting an upgrade with the Blu-ray on this set. By the way I find it massively impressive that you still have a plasma television. It's amazing that it's still working because I remember hearing at the time that they apparently had a short life span. I honestly do not know how true that is obviously not because yours is still working. I really do hope that helps you out and a huge thank you by the way for your sub and support. WAY behind the times, but with the excellent OPPO everything honestly still looks pretty good! Hmmm... So the 1080 print with the 4k is NOT from the new 4k remaster, what a drag... You mean, they just give you the older 1080 release then? Very disappointing... Many of the new 4k releases usually give you a 1080 print of the new master. But, thanks for letting me know, and thank you most kindly again for the nice reply and for perhaps considering including a brief comment or two as to whether the 1080 Blu-ray that comes with the 4k release is from the new master or at least how it compares to older Blu-ray releases. That gives me an excellent and useful reason to watch! 😁

@latheofheaven it's my pleasure my friend. I try to get back to my comments as quickly as I can because I like to stay on top of them. Sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming when you fall behind and I'm a very dedicated RU-vidr where I like to respond to every single comment sent my way. It's the least I can do. To be honest I had a feeling that the Blu-ray wasn't going to be based on the 4K master because we are talking about paramount here and sometimes they can have ass their releases. It's very frustrating because they do such an amazing job on the 4K transfer but then they don't put any new special features on the release as a matter of fact they put on less than what was on the Blu-ray.

Believe it or not but I picked that up on Amazon UK years ago. I'm almost certain it's sold out now. There is a Steelbook on 4K and it's the exact same as the mediabook. You even get the pages inside

It's one of my go to Halloween movies myself and not only is it on 4K but it is hands down one of the best 4K transfers I've seen last year. You are in for a treat when you see it

Yeah it's the one massive downside to this release is the lack of special features. It's typical of paramount two steps forward one step back. That's why I'm not going to get rid of the Blu-ray release that I have because there's special features on it that's not on this release. Other than that it's perfection in my eyes. Definitely worth picking up on 4K though just to see how good it looks

Unfortunately you are going to have to wait until the end of October because I bought the deluxe release and it's not coming out until the 23rd of October. I'm so tempted to pick up the standard release just so I can see it

That is the one Downside when it comes to 4K you can notice so much more that you never seen before. I felt the exact same way when I watched John carpenters the thing for the first time on 4k. You could notice a lot of form and latex on the autopsy scenes

Well I have some good news for you because Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming out on 4K in November I think. So that just leaves the one. God knows when the Corpse bride will come out. Sleepy Hollow looks absolutely phenomenal on 4K and honestly you need to pick it up particularly when you stack it up against that terrible Blu-ray release

Yeah I am well aware of his channel and how detailed he goes into each one of his videos. I am by no means an export and I try to simplify things as much as I can. I know what looks good I know what looks bad. I leave the rest to The Professionals.

I try not to edit too much when it comes to my videos because you lose something by doing it. I am incredibly passionate about everything that I buy and everything that I talk about in my videos flows out of me. Nothing is scripted. Don't get me wrong not all my videos are like that there is times where I have to cover up some of my cuts. But most of the time I tried to capture everything in one shot. It's probably not the most cleverest way of doing things because it can be very frustrating to shoot but like I said you lose something if you cut a lot of your video during mid sentence. I do talk about blu rays quite a bit on my videos especially if it's a new 4K release because I find the blu rays do be almost equally as beautiful as the 4K release. It's the HDR that makes the difference. Sometimes you forget how great the bluray format is. My channel is dedicated to all formats. I've done a lot of laser disc videos as well as some VHS believe it or not. Actually now that I think of it I might have a VHS video coming up very soon. I think Batman would be my second favorite from Tim Burton. Did not like Donnie Brassco at all if I'm completely honest. Having said that gangster movies are not one of my go-to genres

I get what you are talking about Sean when it comes to Christina Ricci but as you said the fact that they don't delve too much into the romance side of it never really bothered me. Having said that look at some of the movies that Tom Cruise brings out and some of the love interest that are in them where the women are years younger than him.
