I noticed there weren't many full build tutorials on how to build a Slime VR Tracking setup. Hopefully this gives a clear, useful demonstration.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have!
Here, we're using a TP4056, Weemos D1 Mini, and the BNO085, all on the Hyperion platform, with 503562 Batteries.

Very good and helpful video ! ^^ But I heavily advice to make sure to flash the D1 mini BEFORE soldering to make sure it works as intended (its very annoying to find out that you need a replacement after soldering) >

Great video for a dad about to attempt to build with the kids. Almost all the parts have arrived. Now I gotta find the best settings to print cases with PLA.

You really want petg or pla plus, unless your strap solution doesn't get torqued, ie velcro

Thanks for your previous reply...im having trouble identifying which tray and case to use from the Hyperion files. I have same parts as you (accept my wifi module is usb C) none of the case models seem to have a hole for the wifi module. Are we supposed to open up the whole thing to upgrade things in future? Also not sure IF we need to use the models with the AUX hole. IF you could clarify I could get this stuff printing while I start ALLLLL the soldering on this for my kids. I have enough components to make apx 10 trackers with no extenders planned as of yet.

You need a minimum of 5 trackers for the system to work FYI. There is no need for a wifi module hole because you don't interact with that port very often. Just pry it out and use it the first time you flash and you should be good. Aux is unnecessary unless you plan on building on auxiliary trackers, so you should be good to ignore the Aux cases and aux compatible main cases.

If you go to the slime docs you can find all of the different types of diodes, resister and other parts they use! just look under components guide! :3

So I can buy all the pcb boards and build it all myself and flash it myself dam this is great I didn’t know I was going to buy slime Vr but they have a big waiting time. Can you recommend me a case I don’t have a 3D printer.

Unfortunately, no easy case solution exists to my knowledge without the use of a 3d printer. You can go to the Discord for Slime (a quick google search should pull it up) and find someone who would likely be willing to help you and sell you a printed case setup.

Which firmware did you flash the trackers with? i have the same setup but im not sure which to use

Always latest unless otherwise specified for your hardware.

@@FrazierDanger I was having issues with the trackers being detected, first I thought it was the firmware so I commented here but I found out it was because you have to solder the SDO pins together on the BNO085. Thanks for the help though!

@@Saucey352 yeah man totally fine, don't worry about it. It will really only affect your case choices, and that only on a limited basis

@@Saucey352 I would get a minimum of 6 different colored strands of wire, and go for 24 or 26 awg.

@@mooshu7067 If you buy from AliExpress for your main components and use a bmi160 setup, you can get the costs down to sub 100 dollars for a full body setup including your soldering iron
