Today I tackle VR's largest problem: The Small Playspace, and go outdoors where there are no walls, to play VR with SlimeVR Full Body Tracking! .-= SOCIALS =-. Twitter: / walesdark SUBSCRIBE!: / @cai_vr Music credits - StreamBeats
You know this is actually very genius, many people struggle with indoor space but have a yard that could be utilized, plus being outdoors can allow you to properly get vitamin d lol. I imagine if there was a more mainstream way to set it up (with wireless connections and such), this might actually be a big thing.
I love this! The idea of not worrying about furniture and monitors and being able to walk around in vr completely naturally without using the joystick is crazy to me! This deserves more views
I can't wait for your slime vr video. I have been having trouble finding a video that shows us newbies how to setup the firmware. I was surprised by lack of setup videos for the firmware and electrics for slime vr. Everyone says to check out discord, but lot of the wording is kind of if'y to me. While I have done some simple soldering and done a bit of javascript I don't really know what I am doing in Visual Studio Code. So, I look forward to your slime vr videos.
Thanks a lot Cai for inspiring me to make Slime even before this video, I tried PSMove controller tracking and it was working wonders but slimevr definitely complete step up compared to them in terms of versatility. Keep up the good work good sire! One problem is with slime is mostly calibrating, autobone does work but for me personally it's little janky and often makes my proportions out of horror movies haha.
Thanks! I think you'll like what else I've got planned for fullbody content then, because theres a way to actually combine slimeVR and PSmove tracking for some awesome results.
@@Cai_VR Woah, are you by chance planning on somehow utilizing the camera tracking and slime tracking to get the most perfect result by chance? I'm quite excited still to see what can you make, you alone impressed me with your DIY haptics! Keep up the good work sire!
11:11 me before leaving the house! God bless UK weather 😂😂😂 loved the experiment... you were having so much fun. I want to get the HaritoraX when they come out.... full body tracking is the dream.
i loved every single second of this vid yt was like "rough day? just watch this since u got slime trackers n u have a big big big yard" laughed my bottom cheeks off
Great video, entertaining and super inspiring! I've been excited about Slime VRs for this exact reason, FBT that works over the network and can be occluded is such a game changer!
Incredible video! You genuinely create some of the best VR videos I've ever seen. Have you ever tried making the DIY haptic gloves before? It would be cool to see them combined with full body, the haptic vest and being outside. Keep up the amazing work :)
Wasn't there that meme gif/video of a guy using the original Quest and getting plowed in the face by a horse running in the same field the guy was playing in!
the college i go to has large open fields and i would get one of my friends to try running in vr plus the smallest map in gorn is amazing if the field is big enough plus with the guardian turned off its just full immersion
I just finished building my 7+3 tracker set and I actually really want to try this... conveniently my access point is right next to a very spacious area outside and I might also touch some grass now :)
I have G2 and now saving for Slime to pair with it. I do VR-dancing which demands big movements and because G2 has super poor tracking for big movements, Slime comes in as perfect aid! 😍
lots of people dont realise how much slime vr servers have done literally 2 years ago I couldn't use anything else than the expensive vive trackers but now I can literally strap my Nintendo switch controllers to my legs and waste like normal slimevr trackers and they work the exact same 👁👄👁
Cai, i NEED a tutorial on those high quality ps move controllers because i use my ps move setup every day for multiple hours on end and the sensors on the motion controllers really bother me because they are just never right. anyway i just wanted to also thank you for the awesome tutorial on the ps move service. :)
Looking to do an overhauled PSmove fullbody tutorial with the newer and much improved PSmoveServiceEX, along with a tutorial on exactly that. I'd heavily recommend you try PSmoveServiceEX if youre currently using the legacy version because it is a huge improvement, and what allows for the custom trackers in the first place!
@@Cai_VR already one step ahead of ya, i already use the Ex service after i watched your video on how to improve the tracking quality and it worked wonders
Him: "Other than flexing a bit and increasing you body presence, full body really doesn't do much functionally" Me w 2000+ hours of play time in VRChat total: "Sure.. 🤨"
I wish I could do that. My play space is really really small. 😶 P.S. my haptic vest project didn't run very well actually. Ordered vibration motors, never got them and that money is gone for nothing, that was not helpful for it at all. Also I still need to find a solution for the electronic part, I use different vibration motors, more stronger ones but without the RPM electronics on it. If I could get a solution to bring that electronic to the boards on the back it would mean only 2 wires per motor instead of 3 what would be helpful. 🤔
Hey Cai Would you consider making a tutorial for using an Oculus Rift CV1 setup for FBT? It runs you around the same price as a PSMove setup, and is much easier to get working.
I'm totally new into VRchat and avatar capture system (other than LIV). Do you use some application to capture your avatar? I'm looking for a substitute or any other capture option for LIV, where I could use my .VMR avatar in VR-sculpting program Open Brush while streaming. I'm getting a bit frustrated and desperate 😂😭
Can slime vr track position without wearing headset/controllers (yes it can be connected to steam vr and a VR headset but just not waring it). I would like to know if slime vr can track the position this way.
I skipped out on something like that because the signal integrity and latency over repeated wifi access points is REALLY bad for VR streams lol. Would be interesting to hear how that works out for you though.
Ive noticed the slimevr trackers that are being crowd funded on crowdsupply say they connect via 2.4ghz wifi and the pc needs to be connected to the same network. how did you have yours connected? I would prefer 5G tbh
