Welcome back to doing videos again. Glad to see the move went well for you. I’m glad I’ve had the chance to meet you in VR as well as few times at events. Now you can beat up everyone at the meet up. :>
I can't believe my favorite comfort twitch streamer is back I can't wait to see you stream ON TWITCH in korea. I hope that twitch doesnt shut down in korea that would be bad
I really love slimes but the really long wait times are a big no from me, 4 months is a long time. Mocopi cost more and seem to track worse but 2 day shipping from retailers is really nice
super excited for the future of ime tracking but if im being real the drifting issues are scaring me off tbh esp since im already dealing with controller drift
I bought 5 homemade slime trackers from a guy on slimes official discord market and they work like a charm, since i dont live in america i had to order from someone in europe that resulted in a toll fee for around $100 extra, it still only cost me around $250-300 total. I rarely get any drift and they are very smooth, people think i use vives and are very surprised when i tell them i use slime, 100% recommend getting them Edit: it took 3 weeks from ordering and to get to my door
@@VickyViolet yeah, if you go to slimes official discord they have a marketplace for people who make their own trackers, i bought from a guy in norway because it was the closest to me but if you live in the US there are hundreds of other people who sell their trackers on the discord, i cant link it here on youtube but if you google you should be able to find the discord
@@VickyVioleti tried sending a discord link to slimes official server but youtube wont allow it :( Also looks like my other message disappeared so ill retype it. On slimes discord they have a marketplace for people who make and sell their own trackers, i got mine from a guy in norway, that was the closest to me but if you live somewhere else for example the US there are a bunch of other sellers more local. I would suggest looking over there and see if you find anyone close to you. Hope that helped :)
Nope. You always know when someone is using slimes or haritorax. Those trackers doesn't have any clue where the floor is and you're always floating around.
I have a switch. And like 20 joy cons. I recently figured out that you can use joy cons as imu trackers. So now I have 16 point trackers with only joycons. It works pretty well.
I am an owner of the Sony Mocopis and I have to say that I think it's still a good idea to get Slimes. I'm in the US and shipping time was about 2 days. but there is no way to get more trackers, slime and mocopi have around the same tracking quality but not as many points of tracking. Therefore you can't really bend your ankles, they drift frequently and in about a 2 hour play session I probably re-calibrate over 10 times. Maybe I'm just picky but I still think Slime is worth the wait. Hope this helps anyone! :)
There's only one good idea in 2024 = Vive Ultimate. IMU trackers are plain trash and base stations are now 100% useless after ultimate's release. Even the lighthouses loose tracking where ultimate's not.
@@simcoyote true, although you really can't use them at all if you get them as of right now. They aren't even usable with Steam VR yet. It would be great if they were and I would for sure buy them.
@@simcoyote as someone who has had the chance to use both 3.0s and ultimates, I find IMU trackers like slimes fascinating, particularly their ability to get occluded and still work ultimates are a pain to set up; best case scenario, they're like 3.0s but without the base station tax. however, if your room is plain, it doesn't work well, requiring redecoration or printing and hanging AR markers to get results. it is still inferior to base station tracking in fringe cases, like your tracker getting up against something. for mocap i welcomed the precision of optical trackers but for something like vrc, the comfiness of imus by not having to worry about occlusion sounds very appealing to me
@@horrorfan1978 Ultimate's & Quest3 was absolutely trainwreck combination. Returned both. I have tried Quest3 and 2x Pico4 during past year and returned all. Never going standalone again. Battery dies in the process trying to make the FBT work. Stutters all the time when using VD+SteamVR(4080 + stable 200mb AV1). Going to wait new Index or buy Pimax Crystal Light and setup ceiling cable management.
I recently bought Mocopi because of the update that lets it talk directly to a SlimeVR server. It's a decent alternative to waiting forever for Slimes (my Mocopi shipped in 3 days!), but honestly it's better to get Slimes so you don't get the lag of running the IMUs through another program before SlimeVR. I'm planning on getting a base set of Slimes and combining them with the Mocopi if possible, and I wish I'd gotten a full set of Slimes instead but I wasn't patient enough to wait that many months for my legs lol
I got my Slimes less than a month ago, and have improved after the 4th time of using them. I don't have the space like the base station trackers require, so these work out well
Loove my slimes, been dancing in em since 2023 fall ^^ DiY, and if done corrctly you can fool everyone. New ppl still think I am in lighthouses (see profile for proof Cartwheels weee ;) ) I am wearing 12 trackers every night, and the cost for all my 12 = 1 ONE vive tracker. Thanks for making this showcase ^^
No because one of my friends uses slime vr but when we like dance together or smt you can litteraly see how shitty theirs is, maybe it's because it's not calibrated or set right but you can still see a huge difference. Personally if i didn't have my vive trackers i would never go for slimevr just because it's annoying to setup, takes time and is kinda shitty. idk abt other people's expierence but i would rather save up for vive
also, the discord server has people that make them for you and sells them a lil cheaper, and ships them to ur house in a few weeks if u dont want to do the full wait time, and theres also a bunch of helpful people just in the server itself if u ever need help or have questions
Yo twice! I really wanna thank you for being a HUGE part of my inspiration to be a vrchat youtuber one day,and is really cool to see you going back from the dead!
I think this was a great review of the slimes. They are inexpensive, but there are still downsides, and I feel like you adequately expressed the downsides. I disagree with it being a good solution for people that can't afford Vive trackers, since you can get a minimal setup for $660 new or cheaper used through people selling entire sets. It isn't "the cheap solution" like getting an RTX 3060 or something. It actually has significant downsides, mainly in the setup process, which are shared between DIY and Production. They are entirely different solutions and there's a reason the Vive trackers are more expensive.
I’m still waiting on my slime trackers. Ordered them July 2023, was supposed to ship November 30. Delayed, supposed to ship January 31st, 2024. It’s been almost 3 weeks, but it’s coming from the Netherlands. If it doesn’t get here within the next 2 weeks, I’m jumping off a bridge 💀
pfft.. still expensive. poor wigglers like me..been trying to get an quest 2 off ebay for under 200..since last year. and the cheapest tracker cost 195? well naw.. WELP! guess ill just keep watching videos Good video uploader.. keep it up!
"Cheap" in germany its almost 500 euro thanks to shiping and import fee's. since its getting send from the netherlands to the US and then to germany :D (after that comes the 19% Tax on top and boom ur at almost 500)
I am wondering on the website I can see the full body set having 7 trackers but you have 8 in your video 2 elbows, 2 knees, chest and hit. Or am I missing something here?
I have the big screen beyond with valve index nukel controllers and 3 3.0 trackers and 5 tundra trackers with 4 base station with a 4k pc I need to sell one of my kidney
I hope that by the open source community and the slime developers watching this video, they can work on improving the drift issue and simplify the setup process
I bought a set for a friend in late 2022, around august. They only now arrived to her in February 2024. Absolutely ridiculous. I would have rather bought her the vives or tundras.
I've been thinking more and more about the future of FBT, and the more i think about it, the more i think we should go back to basics, with cameras with depth sensor like the xbox kinect, and do a GOOD revision of that, maybe add another camera or two to get more points of vision to compliment the tracking of the main camera and improve accuracy, a simple setup once forget about it solution, maybe use simple multicolored straps to determine which part is front/back/left/right now that we have software that allows for image recognition on the fly. Instead of all these spaghetti abominations that you need a quantum physics degree to setup.
This is kind of why I am excited for the Vive Ultimate Trackers. Though yes, I agree. Heck, even if we went back to camera-based constellation tracking. We never got a chance to see what FBT could be like on Oculus' constellation tracking.
so what I'm hearin' is SlimeVR is a good choice for someone on a budget, but if you want more accuracy and overall better quality, then you'll just get the high-ass Vive thingies. Thanks for the video.
