So this was their Covid album. Many of the members had a lot of shit going on and they didn’t have a lot of time to go into the studio together. You would get a lot of Jim coming in for a few days playing some parts and going home, then maybe Sid showed up one day and recorded something but they barely got any time together. Jim even said this album was thrown together last second. I think clown wanted to get this over with so they could end their contract with roadrunner. Clown said there is more to come so stay tuned. Seeing that they are no longer bound to roadrunner I can’t wait to see what crazy shit they come up with.
New slipknot doesn’t suck it’s just a new sound that there experimenting with. That’s where we’re gonna get for next few years. Don’t like it suck it up.
Hey so if you like Lars Ulrich with his double kick, listen to the album ...And Justice For All. I believe every song besides 1 has double kick in it, there are all long songs but personally there great, this is the one with no bass in it, people don't like it but personally i don't mind it. Its my favorite album by Metallica. If you listen to this album i will sub to you, you seem like a cool dude that wants to share your opinions and i respect that.
I swear bro it’s like you are reading my fn mind. The vibe where you want to hear it just because you’re holding out hope but you’re listening at a low volume because you don’t want anyone to hear you listening to it. Turning the volume down at stoplights level of I don’t want to have to explain myself.
That's awesome reaction. Thank you ! And i very like first song in the album Adderall❤I love when Slipknot became more pop, melodic songs starts they Vol. 3 album, that actually my favorite they album. So i go in to see your reaction to Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verse
I hope you react to all hope is gone, .5 the grey chapter, and we are not your kind. Out of the three, the grey chapter, to me is great from front to back. What say you?
You have to listen to the Art of this Album. Its amazing. And yes : you have to listen more then 1 time to hear out all the greatness But for me"5 The grey chapter " still the best Album. A Masterpiece
Well that was slipknot's last roadrunner record Now they can do pretty much whatever they want They've said how much roadrunner has changed and try to change them too and make them go full pop, but ofc they won't listen to them
By Vol 3. Corey completely lost his voice for doing his vocals wrong during the IOWA cycle. He pushed it too far and that was the result for Vol. 3. A lot of people love his vocals on that album, I am not one of them. Sometimes they were decent sounding to me, most of the time not so much. By the 4th album: "All Hope Is Gone", you can tell his voice was starting to come back but still had a lot of similarities to his vocals from Vol 3. By the time the 5th album: ".5: The Gray Chapter" came out, he had quit drinking and smoking and had vocal lessons to improve his voice. That album is when Corey had returned in brutal sounding vocals. I think you would like ".5: The Gray Chapter" and "We Are Not Your Kind" (6th album). His vocals by the time the 6th album came out is almost just like what you heard in this album. Him quitting alcohol, drugs and smoking is what brought him back in a MAJOR way as you can CLEARLY tell here. Don't forget, Corey is almost 50 years old. The fact he can still scream that good for his age says A LOT! As for your final question: What bands did you like when you were younger but drifted away from? Mine would be Asking Alexandria. I got into them in January of 2010 just a few months after the release of their first studio album "Stand Up And Scream". I was blown the fuck away with how brutal Danny Worsnop's vocals and how brutal the instrumental was. Their second album came out in 2011 called "Reckless & Relentless". This was my favorite Asking Alexandria album to DATE! You can tell they really matured as a band but still kept it really heavy in a lot of it. By the time "From Death To Destiny" (3rd album) came out I was starting to get disappointed... 1/3 of the album was pretty heavy but just like Corey at one point in time, Danny fucked his vocal chords up too and he barely screamed on the album, he didnt growl the same anymore either. The last 2/3rds of the album sounded like 80's rock music... I love this era of music, don't get me wrong but it wasn't Asking Alexandria really anymore. They brought me back for the 4th album "The Black" when they replaced Danny with Denis. He brought back the old school Danny sounding vocals, although a lot of that album also was pretty poppy in a way, I still enjoyed it. Then their self titled album (5th) came out in like 2016... well suffice to say, they no longer sounded like Asking Alexandria at all anymore. They kicked Denis out and brought Danny back and well Danny refused to do any harsh vocals anymore... and it just sounded like a pop-rock band... like not at all Asking Alexandria... I gave up by that point... Anyways. I know it was a long post lol Sid Wilson is my favorite member too btw. You and I have the same tastes when it came to the scratching parts. My favorite part of "Yen" was the scratching solo too. Fucking loved it!
I try to adjust to different sounds by a long time band, obviously older slipknot is better than new slipknot, and I like the new album, but Adderall is absolutely terrible, worst song they’ve ever made
Corey Taylor completely ruined this band by trying to turn it into Stone Sour. Plus I hate his singing, I could never take his boy band vocals seriously. Especially for a supposedly heavy, evil, scary band. Plus you were right, they were actually approaching Nickelback here. Pretty embarassing.
