@@menoneries4730 *central. And I'm not even an European or a Slovak...i once said Eastern Europe and my friend was pissed. Lesson of the day: don't call them eastern European
When I was a kid, the boys always used to hit me so hard😂😂 now I laugh at it. I love our traditions and our country, we have a lot of fun and a really good times.
But it's only the ribbon that's supposed to touch the Girl/Woman's but!! And it's not supposed to hurt!! Those Boy's should have been BITCH SLAPPED!!!Htting You like that was quite obviously NOT funny!!! Now if You have bitch slapped them for hurting You, THAT would have been pretty funny!!
Neznasam zurive sibacky. Ja som nastastie mala povacsinou dobre skusenosti, ked sibackove navstevy boli priatelske a rodinne stretnutia pozostavajuce a viac-menej zo symbolickeho posibania a , namiesto polievania studenou vodou len vonavkove posprejovanie.
In peru, we do something similar during carnaval in summer. No whipping involved but throwing water (in buckets) to your family members or community regardless of gender. It can be fun and playful. There isn't something like that in the USA.
It's probably a remnant of ancient pagan culture. On our Frisian islands we have rituals quite similar, except they're performed in winter, so no easter eggs, but the type of roleplay between men and women, with women getting slapped for fertility, matches. On our islands these customs have survived, probably because of isolation.
Hungárian here. You're eastern tradition is exactly the same ,IMO ,as hungarian eastern tradition top. It would be maybe for our intermixing during the Kingdom of hungary, or maybe because beside the language we're totally the same people nowadays.
I guess ,, me too,, or some another movement will go on twitter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am half slovakian and this is just beautiful habit during Easter. I think every country should respect traditions. And i respect another countries traditions.
@@tatianadejanac8474 Bullfighting is a tradition in Spain. Women not allowed to travel without being accompanied by a man is tradition in Saudi Arabia. Female Genital Mutilation is a tradition in some places too. Just because something's tradition, doesn't make it good or worth keeping.
@@tatianadejanac8474 They would be no problem as long as the women are consenting to participate in the events. If a man out of nowhere whip a women he gets what coming to him.
And when I thought I finally had found a thing that only Czech culture has this appears. I love the Czech language so so much. Which is why I'm learning it. It's so harsh and unique. And their humor and traditions like this at least I thought were what made them special otherwise than just regarding language. But seemingly, as always, Slovaks have the "better" and somehow same version of the Czech one. It's so frustrating. I think this tradition is amazing. But there's no video like this existing explaining Czech easter traditions or any other interesting ones. It's so hard to find out about Czech culture! Especially the differneces betweet Bohemian, Moravian, Silesian and I know they're very different! All I've said may sound superficial, but I'm trying to find the wild, untamed part of the Czechs. I thought it was Moravian music and dances and that I'd finally found the wild side of Czechia, then I found out all those seemingly Czech songs and dances are actually Slovak, Romanian or Hungarian. Can anyone tell me (I know people here are probably fixated on Slovak culture and music and dances etc, but maybe someone knows nevertheless?), can ANYONE tell me about some Czech things that are unique to them and not influenced by another culture, especially not my own ugly and boring one(I'm German sadly)? Is there beautiful wild, fast music and dances, that are Czech and not Slovak? Or is there another tradition like this, which is only Czech? And where does the Pomláska tradition come from originally? Slovakia or Czechia? Excuse my frustration, I just can't help it this time. But it's a great video and hat's up to you, Slovaks! Much love from Germany
@@mionellessi3086 I know there has to be more. Czechia is not only beer. If it was like that I could stay in Germany, it's also famous for it's beer. And beer doesn't interest me in the slightest (but I like it). I'm talking about traditions, music, dances etc. There just has to be more. And I hate that the Czechs take so little pride in their own culture. Slovaks are the opposites(my impression), they worship their culture to the fullest. But Czechs seem to just not care about it. WHY?! It could all be so different if they did, then their own unique culture features would be so much more easy to find! And sorry again - I know a Slovak tradition video is not the right place for this but since we've started... Maybe some Slovaks know something about Czechia I can't find out. It's the other way around. Up to now I've only searched for Czech videos. But maybe Slovak ones are just the right place to find out more about Czechia (like a look from "outside" if you know what i mean..)

This is rather a tradition, we do it with water only usually and our girlfriends pour us back then as well and we have a nice meal together then. It is quite a fun, but here in Trnava, there is a more popular thing known as Spartakovská šibačka, where we whip the men in light blue colour to their balls and we get scarfs of slovan which we then burn together by the fire in the evening 😂😂😂 great one really, come and try
@@mat3x0 I KNOW very well what it is about . I live here. But you think that we like being hit and get cold water poured on us ? NO girl thinks this is fun . The boys even get money , alcohol and food for doing this to girls and we get NOTHING. And you really think we'll get "Prettier" or healthier after this ? This tradition is stupid. You could make yo girl prettier in a different way that hitting her and pouring cold water at her

@@majstter7420 why do you have the kingdom of hungary state with the Slovakian flag ? Its disrespectful to the Slovak people. You're definitely a hungarian
It would be totally different if the whipping was done to both girls and boys lightly and jokingly, but doing it only to girls and sometimes to older women by young boys feels wrong to me sorry.
I do not support such habit. It is inadmissible aggression on women. I do not understand why women are giving reward for such aggression. Somebody has not something ok in head.
