@@charlesjunior5087Yeah, the original movie was named Nemo, featured in 2D about this little boy named Nemo and his best friend a squirrel 👀(forgot name) go on an adventure into this dream world, we're they make friends and learn lessons along the way kind of... Anyway it's way better than the short description I gave, though I do believe you can still watch it on RU-vid for Free. Also there's a lil magic in it too and other things a dream world would have. Hope this helps!

One of my favorite impactful lines in this movie were, "Do you know why we have lighthouses? It's not to keep them safe.... if we did that we'd keep the ships docked at the shore. A lighthouse is only there to guide the ships on their journey through the sea. To places that only the lighthouse could ever dream of." ☺ The moral of this story is, we shouldn't stay on the land of comfortable. We need to go into deep sea of waters where it's scary and unknown in order for us to grow. 🧡

This is something unusual for Jason Mamoa which is a good thing! He gets type cast a lot and rarely gets to play a role he hasn't been in like ten other movies or TV series, this looks genuinely new for his filmography. Hearing this is based on the one anime movie I remember owning Nemo also makes it look interesting even if none of this connects me to that vibe, that too could be a good thing. Netflix has done way too many bad things to anime adaptations.

This is probably much more likely to be based on the 117-year old comic than the anime movie and original game were inspired by than the anime itself.

@@manuelorozco7760 Unless you mean the old Dune you do know you haven't seen all of "Dune" right? It's done in two parts. I would caution to wait and see how it all shakes out before judging the whole movie. After all imagine seeing only the first half of A New Hope or Ready Player One and saying "I didn't enjoy that". I rarely enjoy half a story myself it's why I try not to use actual cliff-hangers in my own works.

Little Nemo was my JAM as a kid! Loved that movie. It was so different from Disney animated movies of the time. I realized years later that it was my first exposure to Japanese animation and I was ON BOARD. Flip is an awesome character and I’m very much looking forward to Momoa in the role. Can’t wait!

This is the kind of movie that just makes you feel good and reminds me of my childhood with all the fantasy...I'm glad they finally realized the range Jason Momoa has as an actor and cast him for a role like this instead of always having him cast as a tribal leader or a tough guy! Can't wait for this one looks GREAT!

Big fan of McCay's Nemo strips an the animated film. I can see the iconography in the titles (such as the man in the moon), and there's some familiar nods like the walking bed. But this mostly looks very different from the Slumberland I know. I'll still give it a chance though.

I grew up with the animated film and discovered Winsor McCay’s comics in my tweens. I’m so glad these characters are being brought back into the spotlight, but I can’t help but wish we had gotten some gorgeous anime instead. Or if Netflix is going to lean into live action, adapt it as a companion show to The Sandman that takes place within The Dreaming. Just seems like a missed opportunity for Netflix. The great stories always return to their original forms. Fingers crossed all the same.

Show your kids the original first and I bet everyone hates this in comparison. That original movie was the definition of a gem. It can’t be remade in today’s world. Even if this movie is good (which, without Icarus idk how it could be….)it will just be a disappointment to the original series but all of my hating energy aside, I suppose this is what creativity is about. Hate it or love it, someone is reimagining the story to fit their own frame of mind….😪
