Yeah, while sly doesn't sound excited as the others, I really took his voice as a bit more of him trying to stay quiet since he's out in the field, always keeping his cool no matter the circumstances.

I have to disagree about Sly's voice. I think it fit him pretty well. He's a calm and cocky guy, never really letting things bother him. Though his voice gets a lot better in Sly 2 and beyond

You know, I've never clicked the 'The Completionist' episodes because I've always thought it's just a video about you, 100%-ing a game, which is something that I personally less connect with. But I happened to click this one (as I'm a big Sly fan) and was surprised and delighted to see it's a 20-30 min video with your own opinion and review of the game mixed with some pleasant, not overdone humor. Exactly my cup of tea for RU-vid gaming videos. What I'm basically saying is that maybe it's better to think of a better way to communicate what these videos are actually about. aaah, Sly Cooper, one of the best games on the PS2.

I love the soundtrack for this game, especially times when guards spot you and the music picks up a lot and then dies down when you go back into the shadows. But my absolute favourite was the song that plays when you get a treasure key. So satisfying

Sly Cooper, the Assassin's Creed of old some might say. Or I say, like just now. How does this game hold up over the years? Granted I did not play it while I was younger, so I do not have nostalgia glasses to bias myself. Overall I found this to be a very rewarding and fun game. Truly a classic platformer. This is the first game series I ever did 100% when I was a kid. I got Sly 3 in 2006 and couldn't put it down until I beat all of the challenges, and the last secret unlock was totally worth it!

Best part about the binocucom- if you rotate the analogue sticks you can make their heads circle around while they're talking

Sly Cooper is one of my favorite franchises right up there with Ratchet & Clank. One of my favorite things about the series, aside from the story, is Peter McConnell's composing. It really makes me feel like a master thief sneaking around and thieving like a badass with those added musical cues. McConnell's Paris Rooftops is the most iconic track in my opinion and the music, along with the story, just gets better in the sequels.

This was the first video game that I ever owned. I got it along with my PS2 for Christmas when I was about seven years old, and absolutely loved it (and still do).

the voice acting for sly in the 1st game isn't the greatest but it gets better in subsequent games.

This game reminds me a lot from those Turtles games for PS2. You should complete Konami´s Turtles trilogy on PS2.

This game is the most nostalgic for me. One of the fondest memories was of me playing this game at age 5. I honestly never even got to the Muggshot boss until I plcked up the game again for another nostalgia run, and even still I've yet to 100% it. But, let's be honest, Sly 3 was the best.

I have considered you my favorite RU-vidr for awhile now, and I always dreamed of you reviewing this, but I never thought you actually would. You are awesome, and keep up the good work!

Man, seeing this video really brought back some memories. This was one of the games that I grew up on, and I have many fond memories of it. It was probably the first game that I managed to complete, and looking back on it, it was worth the hours of time I've put into it, playing through many times. I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it as much as I did, Jirard. As for a series that I just now got into after holding off on for a while, that would be Phantasy Star. I've heard great things about it, and I got one of the games about a year ago and absolutely loved it. Only now, however, am I really digging into the series, and I seriously regret not playing them earlier.

BUT BEARDMAN! I have to ask, are you going to do an episode on Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time after the trio is done???

Naughty Dogs version of sly cooper is my absolute favorite game series of all time and one i play at least once every year. With one of the most satisfying story endings ever, thank you Sly 3 for being a masterpiece.

I don't typically post comments, but I need to say thanks. I was never a big platform gamer, stuck mostly to racing games and JRPGs growing up. Watching your review of this made me branch out and pick up and play the entire Sly Cooper series. It now ranks pretty high up on my series.

I argue AoStH, the Mario Cartoons and the Mega Man cartoon were toneally perfect, but they had other problems. DKC was funny for all the wrong reasons and Zelda should have another go as it's more refined nowadays.

This game is racist against sentient raccoons. Not all of them are thieves, you know.

As a martial artist trained to wield various hand-to-hand weapons, including the cane; I can say that a cane is an incredibly versatile weapon that would be incredibly effective for someone in Sly's profession. They give you incredible reach on your opponent, allow you to get great chokes and submissions you otherwise would be unable to without the weapon, as well as simply giving you the intimidation factor. If you're Sly Cooper's size and around enemies like the big, beefy bruisers he's commonly up against, you need a weapon like the cane that is used to fight by throwing your enemy's momentum against them, rather than clashing with it using Sly's tiny frame. Canes also as demonstrated in the game - if you have grips along the shaft - are great for parkour. Sliding along ziplines and hooking into little inlets to climb a wall you need to get up to escape, or stay out of sight. These reasons, among others are all why the cane makes such an amazing and perfect weapon for Sly and is by no means just breaking the laws of physics and some great shock that he's waylaying everyone with it. He's actually using his head! Something raccoons are known for! >:D

"And trust me you want to find these things (The safes) as they hold the missing pages of the Thievius Raccoonus!... We're talking about badass techniques... And even invisibility!" But you get invisibility after beating one of the bosses, it's mandatory, it's not even a secret.

Jirard, I just found it out that the animation studio behind the Sonic Boom TV series is going to produce a Sly Cooper show next. This was announced in June. That makes me very happy, because I've always said I would watch the hell out of a Saturday morning cartoon based on this game.

I was super reluctant to play this game after playing the 4th game, but I played through it in 8-ish hours today and was very pleased with it, and even more pleased with how faithful the 4th is to the first game.

This is the game I would suggest to anyone wanting to play a super fun game and complete it 100% their first time with relative ease. It's such a fantastic title

Honestly, I think a fully-fledged cartoon of the Sly Cooper series would be awesome.

I always thought his voice was like that because it was mirroring the delivery of lines found in noir protagonists.

I remember back in 2014 that I got so excited for a movie starring our ring-tailed rogue and his team, only to be ultimately disappointed when it NEVER CAME AND HAS YET TO SHOW ANY EVIDENCE OF ITSELF.
