There’s something so relaxing about these small town/back roads videos. There’s so much subtle beauty and charm across the country and it’s wonderful you’re able to share this with us.
Hey, Cynthiana. That's where I live, glad u stopped by our town. Some news about the Rohs Opera House, it is our movie theater and used for plays and all kinds of stuff. My wife's uncle is part owner of Rohs. It is listed as the 3rd most haunted place in Kentucky. It was built in 1871. It's owner's H.A. Rohs and his son Karle are the grandfather and great grandfather of the actor ,Chris O'Donnel the actor. It still has the original seats and lights in it. You should really come by one day and let me introduce you to the owners and let u tour the place and maybe see some ghost. It is really cool inside and would make a great video blog for your channel.
One of my favorite experiences was working for Allegiant Air doing promotions around the country and driving back roads to certain events. One of those was working a NASCAR race in Sparta, KY and driving the back roads at night to my hotel. Beautiful towns, sunsets, rolling green hills, horse ranches, and fire flies! Thanks for taking these paths
That bird walking down the tracks is called Killdeer, but we always called them Kildee’s. They always have their nest in gravel parking lots on the ground. If you approach their nest the mother always runs off and will flap a wing like it’s injured to get you away from her nest!! Born & raised in Kentucky! Great video Adam👍
In California they like to lay nests in the gravel driveways in my area. As a 30 year UPS driver I always had to be cautious of their nests. Most of the home owners would put little flags or markers designating where the nests were.
@@theathjr I worked for a gas utility company & every town we served had a town border station, a big gravel lot, I would locate the nest & put line marker flags or cones around it so our company maintenance vehicles wouldn’t run over them!
You show the most soothing and quiet backroads and areas ive ever seen. I could sit outside n soak up some sun n listen to them birds chirp for days. One of these vlogs is gonna have me wanting to move to a location you feature. They beat the hustle n bustle of these over crowded areas i love in for sure
I just love the rolling hills and all those trees...Kentucky and Tennessee have the best views of any. The people are the most down to earth and friendly too. Great video! Can't wait to see tomorrow's ...it's gonna be my b-day! Yay!!!
I love these small town videos. I grew up in a small town (72 people in my graduating class) and I have fond memories of it. In fact, I moved back close to my hometown and still attend their annual Christmas parade every year.
What I appreciate about these particular backroads videos is, although I've been to all 50 states, odds are I will never visit these places. The history and importance of these unknown places are just as, if not more, important than the cities and touristy areas. Decades from now when you are on your deathbed and look back in life, know that these vlogs have made the world a better place. Peace and safe travels man.
Really enjoyed that vlog Adam, no hustle or bustle, loving all the old buildings and hearing the birds chirping nice ambiance Thankyou 77 days on the road that's a long time
My wife used to work at a towing company in Florence. I would stop in to see her and post on Facebook from there just because it said my location was “Sugartit, KY.”
That old dilapidated theater was one the coolest finds ever!! Love that you were able to open the front lobby door and see in through the backside. Something so eerie about it
The ol theater in Falmouth ky has been closed since the flood of March 1997 it used 2 be the old pastime theater. The flood almost wiped Falmouth and buttler off the maps.
The theater is full of mold BC the former owner after the flood instead of a proper cleanup just sprayed it out with water and it done more harm than good let alone it still has flood mud in it.
Big fan of Kentucky. Crossroads of the Midwest and the South. Mountains to the east, river valleys to the west. Have enjoyed my time in the Bluegrass State.
hello, i'm Jorge, a pilot from Lima peru, working with LATAM airline. i came across your page here through the utube suggestion for me so i thought to write to you. where are you from? Write me when you can and do have a nice day and may God bless you.
Hey, you came close to my area! I live not too far from Rockholds, Ky. The old buildings on the Kentucky side of Jellico were destroyed when a train car exploded years and years ago. It blew out windows in houses for miles around, injured and killed several people and left a huge crater where the train car had been. There’s been at least one book that I know of written about it. It’s a very interesting story.
B&O, or the Baltimore and Ohio, was a real railroad that was featured in Monopoly. It was the oldest operating railroad company in the country. It was acquired by CSX in 1987.
I love central ky so much, you have really the best of all worlds, mountains east of you, flatter lands to the west, and tons of lakes and small towns to visit. Hopefully you are heading towards the smokies
and you really went out of the way if you went through Irvine lol, and a lot of the tracks you see in KY are not used often maybe once, twice a day if that, a lot of them are old coal train tracks, williamsburg is a college town pretty much with university of the cumberlands near by
You was really close to my neck of the woods, I’m from Beattyville, which is next county over from Irvine Kentucky, if you ever come back up and go to natural bridge or red river gorge just let me know I own a motel and we will hook ya up with a free room and some south cooked meal
My grandmother grew up east of Irvine, literally on the first mountain. She moved north like her entire group of brothers/sisters during the 30s and 40s for jobs in Indiana and Ohio. Wife and I almost bought property right down from where she was born and rasied. Its like home there we love it
Adam The Woo at his best...... love the backroads and small towns. A piping hot caffeinated beverage (thank Heaven for 7 eleven) and cookies. Ridin' shotgun with the Woo. Thanks Adam
Never thought I’d see Jellico, TN on RU-vid! My dad and I spent the night there 40 years ago driving from South Carolina to Springfield, KY (near Danville). I must’ve been 9 or 10, I’m days away from being 50 now. My dad was taking me to visit Centre College in Danville where he graduated. Kentucky sure is beautiful!
That bird is called a killdeer. We're in they're extremely possessive over their nests and often nest in the ballast around railroad tracks as it provides a great camouflage for their eggs. They are also the type of bird that if you get near them and their nest they will act injured and flop around to draw you away from the nest.
These little towns reflect they way the whole country used to be except of course big cities like Chicago, NYC, LA, etc and me & my family used to ride around in these wonderful rural areas when I was a child in the 1950's, 1960's and have a wonderful time. And oh god he's using a real paper map like my dad used to use.
The old panel truck is sweet! Welcome to Kentucky. I remember you stopping here with your Dad last year around Corbin. Very nice to see some towns I haven't been to.
This is a great video here. I like it when you go in a small town and I get to see things I normally would never get to see. Thank you for inviting me along.
It's crazy that you're pretty much back to where you started when you first started this long cross Country road trip. You are getting real close to home now.
The old truck is a 1954 Chevrolet Panel Delivery (It's the one year only grille that gives it away). They were a popular form factor before manufacturers started making dedicated van bodies. Deliveries were based on either pickup truck chassis or station wagons.
I live near Lexington and am familiar with some of these towns you went through. Amazing how you avoid the bland suburbia that covers a lot of the area and just show the fascinating crumbled areas. Thank you!

I love that you are visiting these small towns, and taking us with you, Adam.👏🤠🌞... However, it's sad to see how many of our Main Street, downtown areas.around the country, have so many empty storefronts, and buildings. 💔
Technically that was a spillway not a waterfall, but it's your channel and you can call it whatever you like. I love the back road trips it reminds me why it's called "America the Beautiful"
Also the building he kept showing across from the Eiffel Tower in Paris is also the worlds tallest 3 story building. The one that had the Chinese restaurant advertised on it.
For you railfans out there,,in 1979 we were in Falmouth to photo the L&N railroad. In town was a local with a grey painted L&N ALCO C 420. Then all of a sudden a north bound autorack train came blowing by with a Family lines painted ALCO C 630 on the point!!!!! Those were the days!
Darn it. I was in Lexington yesterday. I had a feeling you’d visit my home town, Cynthiana. (Cynthi-Anna). Roh’s (Roz) Operahouse is 150 years old and was originally built by actor Chris O’Donnell’s great grandfather. I could have probably gotten you a tour. It’s very haunted. I could go on about Paris too and the rest of the town.
Always great to get off the beaten path and see "real America" ....the bird on the tracks was a kill deer....they are a protected migratory bird , the nest on gravel on the ground , their eggs look like gravel , perfect camouflage....stay safe ...enjoy ....🙏❤
What a cool T.W.D mural I love that show and how accurate they are with the original comic book! That 54 panel truck was badass! I'm kinda a fan of Kentucky now thanks Adam for showcasing old American towns!
In the first issue of the comic book, the hospital, the sheriff’s office, and Rick’s house are literally illustrations of the real places in Cynthiana. Harrison Memorial Hospital is the name of the hospital there. The original artist Tony Moore who helped Kirkman create the comic drew the real life places. It’s pretty cool to see the comic Vs the real place.
