burningkarma CW have killed them selves to try and find a show equal to Smallville!!! truth is “There is NONE” and never will be, this story has the capacity to continue in major feature length movie.
burningkarma I remember feeling the exact same at end of Superman the movie and Superman II, the Smallville series!! especially the end had all of that.
@@Princess_DYS I know Erica Durance is going to appear in crisis but is Justin Hartley actually confirmed? I've only been hearing about him possibly showing up
yes that's true for smallville for my friends jake dessi and me as ethan i choose to watch it because i was born in early 2000s like spider man trilogy and lucky for me i got blue shirt and red leather jacket for my 21st birthday so tom's birthday is april 26th and mine is april 25th and i will rewatch smallville show again i promise
@@RaptorJesus. you have red leather jacket too ? that's cool and i have blue shirt too so in 10 days on august i will rewatch smallville show again i promise
Crisis on infinite Earth was stupid. The last time he gave up his powers. It almost cost him his life. Because his kryptonian father said ignoring his kryptonian heritage is like ignoring who he is. He's not human he's krptonian.
His Dad was like " X-ray vision, telescopic vision, and a whole bunch of other vison powers and he still couldn't see there was ceiling a there? Hey Kal-el put those glasses back on! You need them!"
Can we consider COIE Smallville Universe a different one from this Smallville universe? Make Smallville season 11 the canon universe but Bart returning to life and becoming the Flash and Cyborg a Jler
People are just gonna assume he’s using blue kryptonite to live a human life. Crisis should’ve included a line that he just retired because Connor stepped up and then focused on his blue watch to let fans know he didn’t give up his powers forever.
"You're abilities may be of my blood, but it was your time in Smallville with Jonathan and Martha Kent and all the people there that made you a hero"This was one huge part of Superman mythos that Man of Steel missed completely.
So did superman the movie everything that was superman was jor el and krypton nothing that clark learned in smallville helped him become superman in that movie he spent twelve years in the fortress with jor el and then came out superman the hell he was a completely different clark when he went into metropolis.
Up to the 1980s reboot of the character after Crisis on Infinite Earths, Superman was almost totallydefined by his Kryptonian heritage. Sure he grew up in Smallville and was raised by the Kents, but Clark was well aware and versed in the culture of his home planet. It was the Man of Steel miniseries that made Jonathan Kent's moral guidance and not Jor-El's grand mission, the prime shaper of the Superman persona. Before 1986, Superman and Kal-El were the dominate parts of the character and Clark was the puton. After 1986, Clark Kent became the real guy and Superman/Kal-El became the persona facingthe world.Superman The Movie was just being consistent with the comic books of the day.Man of Steel was something of a throwback to the Superman/Kal El dynamic because the storywas focused on a Kryptonian invasion. The whole point of the film was stressing Clark's alienessand his choosing humanity even if he never felt he was really part of it.That's not how most modern spins on the Superman character go. Clark knew he was different mostdepictions of his young life had him as a well adjusted young man whose loving parents and closepersonal friends helped him develop a deep attachment to the human race.
..Its because tonewise Superman isn't like Batman, both are heroes but Superman isn't dark and gritty, some moments re but as a concept he is lighthearted, hope, Justice and doing the right thing. The Kents raising him with high morals is pretty much Superman to a tee. That is who he is. Sure he's Kryptonian and will feel weird among humans but really he's no more human then any of us considering what he goes through. Tldr: Superman is not a grumpy cynical jerk, he's a hopeful compassionate man willing to defend everyone. Batman is a grumpy cynical jerk and thats ok because there's reasons for that. You can't just apply the "DARK AND GRITTY" filter over every superhero and expect epic results. Not how it works.
I might be dead, but I still will watch over you. That means when you wake up, when you take a shower, when you get dress, when you get down and dirty with Louis. Especially, when that happens. 😏😆
Clark: Finally accepts his dual heritages, acquires healthy levels of pride and personal responsibility and fully becomes the Earth's greatest hero with full control of his powers. Also Clark: Needlessly vandalizes a priceless Kryptonian resource intended to assist him in his destiny, for dramatic effect
What I love about Smallville is the fact that Clark Kent had to earn the title and the mantle of becoming Superman. It was the trials and tribulations that he went through that made him the Man of Steel. While most Superman fans disagree, I think Smallville is a great alternate story of Clark Kent/Superman.
+The Green Arrow spends 5 years on that hellish island and comes back and fucks as many bitches as he can. Oh yeah he also knocks up some bitch and has a 10 year old son named william.
fathomflaw Tom Welling’s version is the “Man of Tomorrow” which possesses universal power, this version of Superman was made obsolete because they had to dilute his character to incorporate other DC heroes, this is why after Smallville series finished the Routh/Cavil version’s we’re introduced but in No way as dynamic or Super as the Reeve & Welling version.
Kevin McDougall that’s cuz Tom Welling didn’t want to put on the suit so they had to use footage from when Routh was Superman and cgi welling face on his body
Super Man Welling never specified in any interview or statement that he (100% did Not want to ever wear the suit) this was allegation that grew through time and like many allegations got out of control such as your relation to the theory.
matt kylie yeah idk I read somewhere that he didn’t want to be typecast and didn’t want to wear it this the “no capes no flights” slogan or whatever but I know they wanted him to wear it for the last episode but he didn’t want to for some reason
I am loving the new DC TV renaissance of tv shows right now, but it was Smallville that made the first step, and made them possible. "Always hold onto Smallville' and someday this world will join the rest of the Flarrowverse.
As much as I loved this show and the finale, I do feel like they missed an opportunity to fully see Clark in action wearing the suit. You only get partial glimpses and wide shots of a red & blue speck. I know they had a “no tights, no flights” from the beginning, in order to avoid a series about a teenage Superboy series, but I wanted to see Tom wearing the suit head-to-toe at least once.
@@Journey24215 I understand what the show was about, as well as both Tom’s wishes and the creators of the show, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. 10 minutes of him in the suit being Superman would not have betrayed the spirit of the show, and I’m sure Tom would’ve been fine with it.
After so many years, while I love the show it still upsets me that we never see him fully don the superman suit. Sure we get the iconic ripping the shirt open to see the top at the end, but never him in the full suit. Tom Welling was pretty jacked by this last season, he would have made it look pretty good.
Carlos Even if that was a nice farewell for Smallville, i think the giving aways is powers just was a bad choice and makes Smallville useless and contradicted many of the things that happened on the show like Jonathan saying he will be the greates hero known, or the Legends recognizing him from the future.
@@nango4073 yeah i started watching smallville for the first time and was halfway through season 5 when i saw the clip from crisis and immediately lose all interest in continuing the show. I hate the whole hero gives up his powers. The whole reason we watch superhero shows and movies ARE FOR THE POWERS
@@nango4073 He was obviously a lot older in the crossover than here, he must've spendt some years as superman aswell. You don't know what happend in the time between this clip and the crossover clip.
As a Smallville fan, I still feel "CHEATED" to this very Day! I knew it would lead up to this day, but as a fan? I'm owed to see him in the FREAKING SUIT! SMALLVILLE FANS DESERVED IT! A FULL BLOWN SHOT OF TOM WELLING, A.K.A, CLARK KENT, A.K.A SUPERMAN IN THE FREAKING SUIT! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Clark asked Jonathan "should i"? He said yes. Easily one of the beginnings of the dynasty that is the arrowverse shows. I loved this show. Somebody save me! I dont care; how you do it!
I still remember reading about how Tom Welling didn’t wanna wear the suit. Which is why they took either close up shots of his face and/or very distant shots of him in the suit.
what?!? this whole time Smallville was a story about Superman??? All this time, I thought the S and everything were just coincidence!!! wow. i never saw that coming.
To anyone getting pissed at the fact that it was the Superman Returns suit... They weren't allowed to make a suit of their own due to a competitive factor.
I think the show runners originally planned to use the Superman The Movie suit but since Welling would not actually wear a Superman suit, it was decided to use the Superman Returns suit since it would be betterlooking when rendered by CGI.
He played the character for 10 fucking years, suit or not, he was going to be typecast..............honestly not putting on the suit killed his career till he got picked up by Lucifer
Perhaps an fast forward ending if the show ended a few seasons earlier where future Superman is played by an older actor pretty much like Jeff East and Christopher Reeve or Gotham Finale.
Every time a saw an episode with a heroe like aquaman, the flash the justice league and jsa in smallville a got the chills.Fot me even today this is still the best series ever.
The fact that the two most immediately recognizable symbols of all time are both symbols of hope I always found to be a reassurance when I'm in a "humanity sucks" state of mind.
@@aarn321 It’s interesting how a major part of the Christian dogma is the belief that the Messiah will return one day. Do they think that when he comes back he’s going to want to see them all wearing a symbol of the instrument of his death around their necks? Some even have his likeness on them. For millennia they’ve failed to see the total irony of worshipping a carpenter who was killed by being nailed to pieces of wood
“I shouldn’t have tried to push away my kryptonian side. I’ll just wait until 2019 to do that when the multiverse needs me and I don’t feel like saving people 🤷🏻♂️”
I love this. Made me cry too. Honestly Superman is my favorite superhero ever. Also loved Smallville, great series. Tom was a great young Clark Kent. Question though do you think he went through with selling the Kent farm?? It didn’t really confirm it.
In all these years, since we know Superman wears his uniform under his day clothes, what on earth does he do with the cape? Tuck it down his trouser leg????
I was scrolling for my next video and the scene where he is handed the suit, I saw a thumb nail from the arrowverse crossover. It was fun to see the difference in the Clark’s with the time jump
