A visualization depicting the Soldier’s Manual of Common Tasks (STP 21-1-SMCT) task Send a Spot Report (SPOTREP) (071-COM-4080). This was developed for the Center for Initial Military Training, FT Eustis, Va. Storyboard developed from the STP 21-1 Soldier's Manual of Common Tasks Warrior Skills Level 1, September 2021.
Approved by the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT) G-3/5/7, Initial Entry Training, Fort Eustis Virginia.

Yes we do, but it’s easier then you think. The training we do all the time makes this stuff second hand, we do 90% of this stuff without even thinking.

@@ShitBagSPC U is - uniform / unit - E is equipment. Their is no “ / weapons being used “ the equipment covers all that, no need for that to be added. Not sure if you added the “ Y “ yourself but if you meant that to be part of the report it’s wrong.

Its not that hard when you train a little. Plus no one in real military will bust your balls for forgetting about one element of the report, they will just ask.

Line 1 is redundant and confusing. The time of transmission doesn't need to be sent, only the time of the observation (line 7 in this format) matters. The radio operator in the TOC will log the time of transmission. All unit SOPs I've seen have omitted this line for that reason. -USMC Radio operator, 8yrs

So what is the difference between SPOTREP and SALUTE report?

A SALUTE report is more for recon. You’d using it while doing recon. . Size - activity - unit - time - equipment. I believe a spot is for active patrols, and you “ spot “ something and report it as such.

A Civilian, whether an AMCIT ( AMERICAN CITIZEN) ,or else, a Foreigner, would ask Me why would I learn how to conduct Basic Soldier Skills and Infantry Tactics, as well as Marksmanship Techniques. #1) I owe No One, EVER, any explanation for what I do. #2) I live in a Free Country, Our United States of America, that I Served and Sacrificed both as a Marine , and also, as a Soldier. #3) No Education, whether Military, Civilian , Secular or Religious, is a waste of My Time, for It all serves and suits My Purposes.
