Hello from Turkey,we had two more earthquakes 5.8 and 6.4 two weeks after the big one,its very scary,but I am okay just wanted to let you both to know,we are still working through the rubble,these recent quakes yes there were more deaths I believe its 46 thousand deaths now,I really felt the quakes wowzers!!!!!,Lol I am okay!!!!!!, I am helping alot people that's important,and I want those squares,yum!!!!!!!! Still thinking peanut brittle yum!!!

Mr Brown made my heart smile when he said he liked to look at the pictures rather than read directions. My recently deceased husband used to always say " I kind of read directions, I look at the pictures and laugh at the big words!" ❤️ Brought back such loving memories! 😊❤️ You two are such a gift! ❤️

I just love Mr Brown’s old pick up. what a Classic. My Grandpa drove one like that back in the the early ‘50’s. My grandparents would drive from ND to Montana to visit and he would surprise me and pick me up after school. The sight of your truck brought back happy memories. Wow, i have never had anything like those Smiley Bars. They would be a good recipe for Christmas, for the family or a gift. They must be incredibly rich tasting,and very sweet..oh my! I wish I knew about them this past Christmas, labor-saving, mix in the pan and bake. Miss Lori, i mixed up that big batch christmas cookie recipe, intending to give them out as gifts. I put the dough in the refrigerator and just couldn’t do any more. I was sick with the cold weather, it was SO cold here, below freezing, arthritis flared up. The dough sat in the refrigerator, didn’t even get it into the freezer, for a month. My son had never done any baking, but he started in on them and they were just perfect. he baked a couple of big pans every other day or so. We all got in the habit of eating cookies every day. The dough kept very well in the refrigerator and the cookies turned out crisp,just right for dunking in fresh coffee. So when I felt better, after the dough ran out, I mixed up another batch. My son got creative and started adding nuts on the tops or dried cherries or choc chips. We just ran out of the second batch, so it is time to make more. Thank you so much for that recipe, it is a real winner around here!!. I thought winter was over, but we woke up to a snow storm and freezing temps (again) this morning. I hope that big winter storm going on all over the country, missed Whipoorwill Holler Stay safe and warm 💕💕 from the PNW 🌲🌲 (edited for typos)

This video certainly did make me smile. Watching the two of you reminds me of my husband and myself. We have been married 46 years, 47 in August. I always say, "It took me this long to train him, I don't want to start over with a new one." Laughter makes everything so much easier. The bars look delicious!

In the book, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," by Betty Smith, Katie (the mother) allowed each one of them a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk for their meal. They either stirred it into their coffee or spread it on a piece of bread. It was a treat for them!

Growing up Momma called these Magic Cookie Bars. Once I had kids I understood why we only made them to take to a potluck or family dinner! I make a version of this recipe, it's called "7 layer bars" and my husband and I love it! I have found that using a yellow cake mix makes a sturdier base though. Just replace the graham cracker crumbs with the cake mix and use the same amount of melted butter. Toppings, sweetened condensed milk, and bake time is still the same. Enjoy!!!

And Miss Lori, I got split pea soup with ham hocks in the slow cooker and I made your spoon rolls to go with it. OH NO! Don't oil the oven door! Years ago, my oldest brother was visiting our grandmother in New Orleans, she was making him biscuits, everytime she opened the oven door it squeaked like that. My brother was recording it, grandma didn't know about it. When she served him breakfast, he played it back for her. They had a laugh about it. The smiley bars looks delicious. Love watching you two together in the kitchen. Mr Brown wind the clock, love hearing it chime, just don't oil the oven door. Patsy Cline is my favorite female singer.

I saw a guy singing but assumed it would be a goofy rendition as others usually are at these events. I had never heard his voice before you mentioned him, so I looked up the video of his Super Bowl performance and you are right, he has a beautiful, soulful voice. As pretty as Alison Krauss, for sure! Thank you for introducing me to him -- I'll be looking for more of his singing on YT!
