The interesting thing is that Pim and Charlie aren't just weirdly-drawn humans, they're called "critters". I feel like there's some kind of deep worldbuilding lore about their species but it won't ever actually come up because it's just not relevant to the comedy xD
@@herpderp3916imo the weird bean fetuses that are on the fridge in the break room, the shelf in the witch's cave, and Mr Boss's baby are homunculi, and that is just how critters reproduce (but it's like a very different social situation)
@@Gamer36046ive seen alot of people ask what he does for smiling friends and to be honest i think he was just mr boss's other kid, he looks like the one he breastfed in the first episode and he doesnt seem to be that old or work for a job

@@simonsanchezkumrich8489 the joke was the marketing for the episode to be greeted with an episode of them getting to brazil and not having a hotel. the buildup is lost without that prior kknowledge.
When Charlie’s Grandma said his grandfather was killed in 1958 I thought “wow his parents must be pretty old then if his grandfather died that long ago. And then I remembered my dad was born in 1958.
I never actually looked up the definition but here it is if you’re curious like I was: Homunculus - A very small human or humanoid creature. I always assumed it meant monster because of Full Metal Alchemist.
actually the FMA definition is closer if a bit off: it does originally refer to the alchemical ambition of creating a person/being from inert chemicals and/or tissues. Later it also came to refer to a model of the human body that exaggerates the size of feature based on their importance and sensitivity (giant eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hands... etc...)
