The graphics look great

From what I've heard from the Dev deep dives and people who played the pre-alpha: The engine has been updated from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 5, and Unreal Engine 5 allows them to far more quickly work on any changes due to more intuitive design. The graphics have been updated along with the sound design to be better than in Smite 1. They've overhauled the item system, and there's no longer Physical and Magical Power. Instead they replaced them with the "Strength" and "Intelligence" stats. So Gods can scale off either or both. Relics are also no longer in the game, and instead we're getting item actives that keep a lot of the relic effects on them. Beads and Wards are now built into every kit, so there's no need to buy Wards anymore except to upgrade them to Sentry wards. Some Gods have had abilities reworked going into the Smite 2, but we've barely seen any of those yet. Anhur's ult is now 3 small spears and 1 big spear instead of a constant line of shots for example. They're remaking the ranked and queue systems both from the ground up for Smite 2. They'll probably be worse than the ones we have in Smite 1 at first, but it's likely to be better for the long-term. An example of a God scaling off both "Strength" and "Intelligence" is that Neith's abilities scale primarily with "Intelligence" while her auto attacks scale off "Strength" in Smite 2.

Because it's built on a different engine. UE5 Instead of UE3. The assets don't transfer, so they had to rebuild the game from the ground up. It is technically a separate game.

@@Vexkion They actually used and are using Smite 1 Assets to develop on the new engine... the thing is that programming is from 0 and they will create new assets while developing.

How old are you that you're excited for this? I play smite since season 2 and i cant wait until smite 2 gets deleted and they keep the same game for 10 more years. Its perfect as it is right now.

test with have CQ only, in fact Smite 2 seems to be taking a more CQ centric approach. Which is good cause when CQ suffers the whole game suffers

⁠@@C3lticlord With how they’re changing and managing rank and ranked matches as a whole it seems they’re gonna have a natural progression in a way of getting people more involved in conquest and ranked games, which in turn will likely support a bigger E-sports scene which is another can of worms entirely. (Incon has a video going over what he has experienced playing the beta) Conquest will be the primary focus of the game, and it will be the only game mode for the alpha but the other game modes will be added later on for obvious reasons of gameplay diversity

@@C3lticlord This has already been proven false. the idea that arena is "the most played mode" was determined by looking at matches played, however every single person who's created a smite account ever was thrown into arena. also Arena matches are shorter and people who play arena tend to only play arena. if you look at the number of players playing each game mode at any time, its not even close, and in some years even joust was more popular. while I think arena should be in the game for casual players and some "brain off" gameplay for those looking for it, it is not detrimental to the game if they forgo it all together.

I think you just have 23 AP to spend how you want on gods you want. Be it in Alpha, Beta, or full release.

@DestroAzureDx yea, it does say the first 23 alpha gods so there's that. So I might just wait and hold out. Hopefully this will change.

there are 4 sources of dmg from his ult and 4 green numbers.. It propably ability lifesteal (like soul eater) dmg numbers are 500, greens 125 -> 25% ability lifesteal compared to soul eaters 11% (was 15% before nerf a while ago), thats quite a lot .. yes ^^

It's a skin that will be available in smite 1 and 2. So basically, if you buy any new skins that came out after January, you'll keep them in smite 2

its called its the "alpha". the game will release fully, for free in january 2025

@@fyrakitsune8662 I still bought this for no reason though. I wanted to be able to play it when it came out, instead I have to wait till January(if they make it so you can play without Core/Ultimate pass which I don't even know if they will). You know what I'm saying? I preordered because I wanted to play it the day it came out, and I can't.

Legacy gems are gems hirez is giving you for free based on how many gems you spent in smite 1. So if you spent 142,650 gems in smite 1, you get 142,650 gems in smite 2. OR if you buy the founders edition of smite 2, those gems would double. I initially only spend around 25k gems, but after buying the founders edition i have 50k legacy gems now. Note: For all new skins in smite 2 legacy gems only pay for 50% of the cost, however any skins ported from smite 1 can be payed for with 100% legacy gems
