How did we get SMITE 2 before GTA 6

Smite was my first MOBA and I loved it so much. But then I was having connection issues which I found out that they removed the servers in Asia (specifically in SEA). Made the game unplayable with the lag. Hoping that they work on this because I really want to get back into Smite.

what is it with game marketing departments obsession with using rap music for games where it doesn't fit at all?

I still remember the feeling when I started playing this game at 17 years young in Beta. I'm 28 now and I have just got that same feeling all over again.

Can't wait for Smite 3!

Honestly this feels more like an engine rework, balance update, and a way to get whales to buy a bunch of cosmetics again.

Whoever chose this song needs to be fired.

Smite does a lot of things very well and really needs a way to attract new players. This is it. For as much enjoyment the game has brought me over the years, I feel like it should be way more popular than it currently is so hopefully the launch pops off and the flood gates open en masse!

Really loving how explosive and flashy the new ability vfx are, I can’t wait to see some of my favorites in action once this is fully polished up.

I didnt know there could have been a sequel or even if the first game needed it but i am here for it

Been playing since 2016 and extremely excited for this, especially with the engine upgrade.

I’m so hyped for this, literally been talking with my friend group for YEARS about how it needs a new engine

The biggest problem with SMITE is having to hit a button 10 times before the ability goes off. I've gotten in the habit of spamming the trigger button to help the ability to go off. And no I'm not silenced. Sometimes the character starts jumping instead of casting the ability. This has been a problem for a few months now in SMITE. Not sure if I'm going to get SMITE 2 unless they fix this problem.

omg, Smite 1 is the only MOBA to do anything for me. I am so excited about this sequel.

Remember how during one of the first smite trailers music played was Manowar - Sons of Odin. Now copmpare it to this.

Stuff looks like it has that...IMPACT when it comes to attacks now. That's one of the main things I'm loving, other than the very much needed visual touch up. Mad excited!

My main concern is whether or not all my unlocks (gods, skins, etc.) will carry over. If they said it somewhere and people know the answer please let me know. Edit: Looked it up and found that skins WILL NOT transfer. You will get legacy gems that cover half the cost of skins in Smite 2. Smite 1 will still be playable when Smite 2 releases, unless they make skins transfer 1:1 I will not be playing Smite 2 other than to initially try it out.

It would be nice that skins can change their base colour to the mastery level like an tier 5 skin can be detailed in diamond colour in a mastery 10 god

The game isnt only graphically updated. New UI. New way to build each god entirely up to you. You can buy every single item now. Some gods will get new abilities or buffed versions of an old ability like Ymir wall can launch enemies or launch himself forward. If you want any more info watch the keynote video they posted

Definitely looks more clean and bright. The slightly different animations gives it a little touch better. I like it

trying to sell the game a second time. Let me remind you. Batman: Arkham Knight runs on Unreal Engine 3 and still is one of the best looking games ever

I love smite and I’ve always felt it was a great game i always go back to it and when gaming convos come up between people i neet i always suggest it as a game that once u get the builds and dynamics its to much fun to play i hate that there no chat on console

As a 2013 player, im very excited for this, and can’t wait to see father zeus with his new graphic design and effects, will be sick! Also i like you bring the first conquest map, or at least it looks like the old one.😮

This is great! I loved the OG game! But when i wanted to get back into it after years i sadly couldn't bother to stick with it because it felt so outdated and this is exactly what smite needed.

I didn't expect this but hopefully we can sync our old accounts to Smite 2

I just hope we will be able to transfer everything from Smite 1 to Smite 2. Edit: They addressed it on their FAQ site they won't be transfering everything but will give us "legacy gems" for compensation.

I've played SMITE since beta, and although I've stopped because there is no cross-progession between PC and PS, I'm still excited for this.

I do feel like it's worth asking: will the god passes carry over from the original to the new? Or are those of us with them going to have to purchase every single god all over again?

Haven't played smite in over 2 years. Was a huge fan of the game and completely forgot about it. Just saw this trailer and pooped myself. Super excited to get in the competitive feild of smite again.

The problem with Smite when it launched was that cheap computers didn't run the game well. This greatly reduced the number of people who had access to the game, making it not popular outside the USA. Now in Smite 2, with Unreal Engine 5, I'm afraid this will happen again. Popular games like LOL, Dota2, Fortnite, FreeFire run on any computer.

Very sad most of the skins aren't coming over. Hopefully their divine legacy event will actually feel substantial enough to compensate for the like hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours alot of people put into smite 1. Quickest way to lose a fan base is to not respect their time

Besides the hd upgrade, there really wasn't a reason for a sequel? And whats going to happen to the original one and all the stuff and skins we own? Dont think its worth losing all our progress over better graphics.

Ive been thinking a lot and SMITE is the best candidate for VR moba game. It would be such a blast.

having both smite 1 and 2 be up at the same time will definitely cut the existing player base by quite a large margin. and skins not transferring really makes it less incentivizing to play smite 2

Now the game looks like it came out not in 2006 but in 2014! That's amazing!

Concurrently running both games I think is going to be pretty yucky, unless it is a temporary solution until most of the content they want ported over to Smite 2 gets brought over. I don’t have any purchased skins you can’t unlock or buy with in-game currency, but if I did, I think a lot of people aren’t going to be happy with the compensation for their skin being gone. Again, I hope the concurrent smite 1 and smite 2 is a temporary thing, because I just don’t see balancing and developing 2 different versions of the same game going well. Cautiously optimistic. After all, it’s still early and the game isn’t even in Alpha yet.

A reason to finally come back to this game holy smokes. Please bring back Latam servers!

Just wow, who would’ve thought we’d be getting a sequel.

Can’t tell if I’m excited or disappointed in this having almost every skin in smite just to lose it and also the build any item on any god just feels weird to me. Hopefully with time, more information will be given and they’ll explain how that will function.

Only game I’ve consistently played since the beta on pc forever ago. Thousands of dollars and thousands of hours, as long as it’s not a full reset and everything carry’s over then I’m in if not back to smite 1.
