Can anyone explain to me how to unlock his ult. I've gone whole 20 min arena match and never got to use it but see opponents use it early in game. Am I missing something

I find it somewhat hard to justify because Asi is such a beastly item for him, even in an ability based build due to the flat pen. And a lot of more advanced mechanics with Hydra's also work better when you have a little bit of AS and Asi is perfect for that. I tested Soul eater with the most broken version of his ult and the result in terms of self-heal was very underwhelming. That said, the lifesteal with the 2 against a full wave or in a teamfight could be interesting. Will include that in the more advanced mechanics vid.

It's just the ult, so it's definitely not terrible. Just figured it was worth mentioning. There are of course alternatives like Breastplate or Shifters, but nothing that fully replaces Void.

Void shield worked for me as well. For magical protections, I usually include runic shield or something with dual protections. I’ve always been an easy target without them, but I’m still not used to using his eacape

I think it depends a lot on the matchup and how much you can outclear. The other issue with it that every rotation you make to another lane pre level 20 is gonna be weaker as your abilities do less. If you purely focus on farming up asap and don't intend to leave your lane, I can see it working, but many games don't go that way.

@@DukeSloth Yeah it's definitely matchup dependent and jungler dependent. If you can pressure without the extra damage on the 1 or 2 right away, you can get away with it in lane. And if their jungler is focusing you, 1. You won't be in a position to rotate much anyway and 2. You might need the cooldown to survive ganks. As a hunter solo, those two things aren't uncommon. The main takeaway is that any levelling order is good for certain situations, which is good design.

I've tested the 2+ult combo a ton and never had the issue you described. What do you mean by the 1 resetting though? The desync basic attack happens every single time, it's because the animation of ending the 2 is so long and it overwrites everything else. It never ghosted for me though, that might be a ping issue.

DukeSloth it's only happened once in my memory so it was likely ping, but basically what happened was that I knocked someone back with the 2 and then clicked to bring up the 1 and did the animation but no sword went up and when I reclicked to call it down wondering what would happen I redid the animation this time actually throwing the sword up and then a second later it called itself down where I had targeted on it's own. Probably ping it just confused me super bad. Im glad the autos desync is normal though so I'm not crazy lol the thing getting me the most though is the ult followup cause that's happened more than once even in the same game where I use it right after the knock up and when I run into them i immediately just skip back to where i started as if nothing had even happened. This irritated me the most when in a match i was in a fight against a fellow Heimdallr and we were both pretty low, both had our ults up, and both had our beads down. Essentially whoever ulted the other first won. When I managed to activate and early cancel my 2 on him and lined up my ult, confirming the win. But when I hit him I reset as described and then when he landed on the ground immediately ulted me instead and killed me. I'm not sure what exactly causes it or if its ping, especially if you've never had it. But I've had it multiple times across multiple matches. Big fan btw kind of ecstatic you replied lol

@@FadeToBlood I know man I've called out and reported so many people for not playing intended role already due to this god. They bitch saying oh he's new but then I see some idiot bringing him in starting with asi and it's like great now you have zero power on an ability heavy god and you can't land basics. If you want to learn him go auto lock him in arena. Keep off of him in conq and joust if you don't have the role or can't play the god well

@@Cloud-kf2dp oh I agree but the issue is you should let the role they are primarily in choose to select him or not. I used to play jorm jungle a lot and do amazing with him but I would wait until both support and solo picked first in case they wanted to play him. People aren't thinking oh he's good in the jungle, they're thinking they're entitled to play the god wherever as long as they lock him in and that shouldn't be the case. Apparently hi rez doesn't think so either cuz I've gotten a few "an action has been taken against them" messages lately as well. I won't even play wierd off picks in the jungle that have been out forever until that mage/solo/ or hunter has picked their god. It's just having courtesy. And I'd rather see a hunter in the hands of someone that plays hunters rather than someone who plays other roles and just wants to snag him to play him poorly every game they go in.

On PTS, the secondary targets of Berserkers already had the reduced heal, that's part of the item. Pretty sure that's still the case. As for Frostbound, I don't see that as a major issue. How often are you really gonna have multiple enemies close enough for that to affect them?

Yes it is, I've seen many successful heim solos already. However I believe his true strength shines with this full power build. You can hit upwards of 1k with no crit late game and can hit Phoenix for anywhere from 300 to 650 an auto depending on buffs

Yeah but when is that gonna matter? Enemy players usually don't cluster up enough for cleave item procs

Eric Indeed you can in the ability builder from the God tab on the main menu screen. You can setup the order of the skill level ups on auto.

@@liamoconnor8950 The scaling on his first and second abilities is high so he can do Midlane or Hybrid Power/Attack Speed Hunter builds.

Raelyn if you play duo why not start warriors blessing rush b shield Go ninja tabi Exe axe Frost bound Runforge Then flex your last item Personally I’ve yet to be out boxed by any other person playing him gives you health sustain and a lot of physical power I don’t think there’s a better way to play him with how he works as a tanky hunter so far it’s my personal preference and he still hits super hard and with those items your a warrior with hunter damage stats give it try just a friendly suggestion Forge my recent games @Informationals on Xbox or pc :)

Not really a fan of that build. I'd only go a build like that if I was playing Solo, and I don't think he's a good Solo laner either. He should be played Duo or Mid. Heimdallr already has somewhat lackluster clear, going warriors will guarantee that you're going to be outfarmed by the enemy ADC. Yeah you'll be a bit more tanky and resistant to poke, but your damage is just gonna be nonexistent. Hunters Blessing is just more practical. Berserkers is a decent item if you're playing Solo I suppose, but the item is problematic for Hunters in the way it just fucks with both your power and gold curve. When you hit late game you are going to be very behind other players in terms of damage output because you built it. You'll be out 1700 gold, which is a big deal. You're far better off thinking about your build for the whole game by buying something like Devos, Bloodforge or Asi if you want sustain. Frostbound is niche and I don't rate it for Heimdallr really. You're better off getting some actual power or pen online. Honestly, I think Tanky Heimdallr is just not worth it. If you're going to be tanky, you want to be in their face disrupting them. Heim can ult one guy sure, and do a knockup. That's about it. And he's never going to be anywhere near as tanky or annoying as a proper Warrior or Guardian, so what's the point? You might as well make use of him being a Hunter and go for max damage.

@@diogopereira1475 Sol has good self peel but Heimdallr has a passive that helps with seeing rotations Has a sword ward for 10 seconds Has a knockup to self peel Has an uninterruptable teleport (minus knockups) And has a banish ult that is also a long dash if needed. His whole kit can counter ganks

ABYSS those, except for trans, worked for me as well. Now, I typically include ninja tabi, asi, and heartseeker while including situational items for protections and health as needed. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but he’s been kind of squishy for me as everyone seems to always target me so I usually need a tankier build

@@aperkins07 been trying to get better with him as well and his biggest drawback is how squishy he is along with his lack of ability to get away from fights assuming the 3 ability isnt viable at that moment

When someone uses beads before the launch on Heim's ult, the launch doesn't proc because its a displacement which is prevented by beads. In a similar effect, Heim's ult is useless against anyone who has inherent or ability varient displace prevention. For example, Jormungandr, being tethered to the ground at all times, is uneffected entirely by Heim's ult. It is not worth leveling immidieatly if the enemy has a lot of beef, because you certainly dont want to be in their face, and there is a good chance it wont proc.

Well, damage-wise, the crit ends up around the same or higher per hit, but DPS-wise you lose out significantly. I did a brief numbers breakdown on that here: www.reddit.com/r/Smite/comments/e5grvp/heimdallr_the_nordic_god_of_yeet_early_god/f9k4vyh/ I think the main reason for the lowered scaling is because an amplified third crit basic with Hydra's and Deathbringer would otherwise lead to absurd single hit crit dmg. If haven't done the numbers for Deathbringer specifically, but I know it's doesn't suffer from the penalty. Will look into it for the in-depth mechanics guide
