The Best DPS Hunter Build Includes An Unexpected Item And Doesn't Use Its Passive! 

There are a lot of questions regarding replacing items in the comments, so I'll try my best to answer the most common ones. First of all, again, a ton more information can be found here in ImpishCoconut's thread: www.reddit.com/r/Smite/comments/avunp1/63_pts_hunter_top_damage_build_spreadsheets/ - Especially if you have questions regarding how specific gods work with this build, you can find out there. 1) Is this only for hunters with steroids/attack speed buffs? - No. As I said in the video, it's even the highest DPS build for gods like Hou Yi who don't have that. 2) What about Transcendence? - One condition for this build was to have 1 Lifesteal item. If you don't want that, swap Bloodforge for Transcendence for higher DPS. Also, build it earlier. 3) What if I want more lifesteal? - Swap Bloodforge for Devourer's Gauntlet. Minor DPS loss, drastic lifesteal increase. Also, build it earlier. Keep in mind that this build doesn't synergize as well with lifesteal as a crit build, as a decent amount of damage comes from Qins and Odysseus' Bow procs which don't factor towards lifesteal. 4) What if I want more ability damage? - Swap Odysseus' Bow for The Crusher and build it before Executioner. Pretty much the same single-target DPS, more ability damage. 5) What if I want crit? - See crit section of the video 6) What if I want more earlygame ability damage? - Build Warrior Tabi and swap it for Ninja Tabi (or something else) in lategame. 7) What if I have a personal vendetta against Silverbranch and never want to build it? - Put both Crusher and Odysseus' Bow in the build instead. It's as close as you can get. 8) What if I still can't hit my basics? - Welcome to my world.

See I thought the item was gonna be Runeforge Hammer, the title would be wrong then, because you sure as hell want that sweet passive. Silverbranch bow making plays, that honestly caught me off guard. It’s nice how many build options are actually viable at the moment. Crit, pen/power, attack speed and qin’s, runeforged asi, It’s fun to have some more build paths for what normally is a pretty linear role.

He doesn’t do as much damage as he used , with all the nerfs and buffs I don’t know how to make a good dps build. Especially one that makes my 3x bounce kill squishy with 3/4 health or below

Honestly super interesting. Hunter builds have never been more variable. Quite an exciting time to play the point and click adventure role. I played around with the build earlier and had a lot of fun with it. Noticed I was clearing and poking a lot more, but the lack of inherent lifesteal definitely was noticeable until I got Bloodforge online (I often found myself picking it up before Qin's Sais). In what matchups would you recommend rushing Devo's over Silverbranch or vice versa? And how does Runeforge compare I wonder? The Hunter role deepens.

As someone who just joined the game a week ago I’m happy to find youtubers who do builds. Hunters seem very hard for me as a beginning player (I played league before on a decent high lvl plat/dia but these adcs feel a lot harder)

I love this item on Apollo at full build I’m constantly overcapping so when his passive steroid procs I literally get almost bonus power 😍😍 not to mention the 30-35 power the item itself gives I literally delete any structure or tank late game

I'm curious, do you think a hammer build on Jing Wei would be to awful to consider? More than likely you'd just pick up titans bane as your one pen item, get all three hammers (most likely in order of Blackthorn > Frostbound > Runeforged with titan's bane woven in the middle of that when the enemies have enough protections to warrant it), and as a Jing Wei specific twist, Stone of Gaia, since she can both make use of the normal passive and intentionally proc the secondary passive, aloowing her to play even more aggressively with her dash (maybe even play her in solo lane with this). I don't know when or where you'd actually pick up the Stone of Gaia though (build order wise).

Duke the build with: trascendence, warrior,crusher,heartseeker,yotun and titan/odyss/soul eater for close is still worth on ability based god?

How do you feel about the Titan's Bane + Quins combo? With the push to bring back Warriors and double tanks being more common, I find this Tankbuster combo useful more often including some gods you do not see tanking that are still affected by it. Anything on the Smite Trello website?

I like the new frostbound build for Cern and gods like that, it's just more fun than the unicorn build

I build the full bow tree except the one with movement speed and have alot of fun and it hits pretty nice it even worked on hunter loki ×D

@Dukesloth might I recommend Asi or Atalantas bow to swap in. Ditch the boots, get the potion. (I tested this build with cupid. His 3 adds passive attack speed.) Swapped bloodforge for asi and his attack power was 322. Plus it came with penetration, which is crucial. And instead of rage, might I recommend Wind Demon? The proc on that would benefit the user more.

Silver Branch Bow is perfect for Apollo cause his passive.

But a big question IMO is - what about very early game? Comparing a few hunters starting with hunter’s blessing and either T1 SBB or T1 Transendence (with which you can also afford two more potions), the AA dps is practically identical. But you lose out on, depending on the scaling of the ability, anywhere from 6-10 damage (with a few edge cases like Artemis) on your waveclear each time you use it. With the first couple of waves being so crucial for potential purple invades / defending against them, the amount of early clear being sacrificed to rush SBB after boots seems questionable (like how Ichaival rush isn’t really a thing either).

I was messing around in jungle practice with silverbranch the other day. Didn't realize it's base stats were so good after the buff. Wouldn't wind demon work in place of rage with the added power you'd get from the proc? Also move speed for chasing

Silverbranch was my first guess xD But I expected some crit to be in the build as well for maximum dps EDIT: I was correct, I calculated the dps of the build in the video with 0 defenses (because the compassion won't be affected by pen) was 894.9DPS. If you change out bloodforge for a death bringer, approximately you get 984.65DPS. around 12.5% more dps than the "calculated" one. And no, Rage is not better, it only gives 948.4DPS (and I used a pen and paper for this...)

The fact that SBB Bow is now a good item is one I find deeply unsettling. Single-crit as part of a Qins build hurts me even more :P But maths is maths, the facts are all there. I’d like to see a tweak to Silverbranch, personally, where they nerf the base stats and buff the passive. There is zero sense from a design perspective of an item being good even when the point it was made for - to synergise with high attack speed builds - isn’t even relevant because you don’t need the passive for the item to be strong.

berserkers ninja tabi ichaivel runeforged frostbound. Not great late game but early game is actually decent cus everything is so cheap, kinda a meme build but works.

I really never expected silverbranch to be useful. I've tried some 2.5 attack speed builds and I only got 18 power and thought meh it's not worth it, but now I see many people using it, even as early item and I'm like what the hell

will definitely have to try this out but wouldn't stacking trans asap still be better on gods that make good use of their abilities like Neith, Chiron, Medusa to a point, etc?

Could I use this on Anhur??? He’s my favorite hunter and I usually go Trasendence on him first with hunter blessing. If I can’t use it on Anhur, what other hunters are viable

on characters like Rama, Artemis, Medusa... They can still use Transcendence. idk.... Maybe Transcendence, Ninja Tabi, Silverbranch, Executioner.... Odyssey. I guess? and then use the speed buff from the ability....

Could this work with Neith?

I'm amazed that this build isn't even better with wind demon in place of blood forge. I know BF has a lot of power, but with the passive from WD with passive from silver branch (maybe with AS steroid) in addiiton to more crits seems like it would be better. Maybe I'm just a softie for crit

Few days ago I was level 14 or so and hit Ah Puch with an auto while he was inside my ult as hou yi. It hit for 430 without mark...just runeforge passive which is nutty and you’re telling me this has the potential to do better than that?

I have been away for at least a year and when I left silver branch was stealing magic power or some crap like that. It was one of the worse hunter items. I normally do not watch many videos but i wanted to get a feeling for the top tier items and gods again.

As soon as i saw the title i knew it was silverbranch bow. Why? Because the passive is the only one that is unaplicable enough for the title to make sense. Pls change that thing.

I've always thought you should build attack speed first...but listening to people that "know better" I really never did. Yes, power would be great for an ability based god or if you hit every attack.

Crit is not an option against nemean and thorns heavies. They identify you inmediatly if you do a good performance in your lane, and soon you will have a solo and a supp with that build, and even mid if it is a healer or they just see that you are the top player and yourmid sucks. And with this kuzembo in many games that item is the last choice. Besides healers like baron, chang'e, aprho and hel are very used in casuals, so toxic is going to be a forced item to have movement speed and anti healing at the same time in order get those heavy goods. If you have healers in your game, your damage will worry them a shit because they will have good movement speed with the asclepius plus their pasive movement speed -because all the healers have a passive that involves movement speed- and then you will hit maybe a couple hits with a merely based on damage build and your performance will be bad. In this case wind demon or its brother are one of the best choices. And penetration is just forced too because healers always go for armor when the carry is good enough. And the sustain is just too nacesary for many carries that if you don't have it you will lose your lane by pressure when the other buys sustain. Only a few hunters can care less about sustain items like neith or cupid, and maybeeee chiron, chernobog, ah muzen cab, and ullr can go for trascendence because they have sustain passives or can return to lane fast, or they have to much early that they can't be pushed (or all together like that fucking ullr). But in general the sustain stacks are base. And the final thing is that a player has to identify if his hunter do better performance with skills based build or with basic attack build. No one will build skills based with rama or jing wei. Those gods are mainly basic attack gods and their build has to care primarily for: attack speed. And gods like neith or ullr, are skill based mainly even thoug they are decent with basic atack builds. And finally theres an item that has broken the meta and it is: runeforged hammer. It is a total beasty item that gives adc absurd damage.

I wish i had money to pay for internet, but i used that build on apollo a couple of months ago. Carried in almost all my ranked joust games and man o man were they upset, but in all honesty, they started to int bc of it. Lol No crit needed

Is this one of those builds that doesn't translate outside of Conquest? I've tried it in my last few games... And it just feels horrible compared to the more standard builds. Its DPS doesn't seem to kick in at all until the 5th item and even then it just doesn't feel strong. Even capped on AS as Medusa I was getting 0 Power from Silverbranch normally and only an extra 37 with her steroid up. Its enormously underwhelming.
