I carry this pistol all the time IWB its super light weight and doesn't drag your waist band down on a pair of light shorts, its scorching hot here in Georgia and normal attire is light shorts a tee shirt and flip flops, I carry it loaded with CCI stingers its super accurate and always dependable

I have this firearm, suppressor ready. It was a good buy for me. I like most everything about it with one exception. The M&P badging on the slide is painted on, not stamped into the slide. So if it should wear, you can't color fill it back in.

I'm waiting for mine to be shipped to my local gun shop. With the cost of 9mm ammo now in Dec, 2022, I've either got to quit going to the range so often or buy this to shoot instead of my M&P Shield. I rented one and shot it at my range. I absolutely loved it. Can't wait for it to get here.

I may be mistaken, however I believe someone said that these pistols are made under contract from Walther, They only have the required about of parts and assembly to receive a Made in USA roll stamp on the side of the receiver. one way or another, that sort of thing can't be avoided in todays manufacturing, also Germany still makes good products. Good review and great video.

As usual, another great episode from Buffalo. Thanks man. Can you do a video more in depth of why dry firing can be bad. I’d like to understand why.
@buffalosoutdoors
@buffalosoutdoors 6 лет назад
Thank you! I am glad you enjoy the videos. Dry firing for most guns will not cause harm. However with rimfires like the .22lr the firing pin comes forward to strike the rim of the cartridge. If there is no cartridge there to absorb the blow the pin can strike the edge of the chamber and with continued dry firing can result in a dimple or bur on the edge of the chamber causing all sorts of problems. Some rimfires have built in measures to prevent this from happening, others don't. So I just try to avoid dry firing rimfires as much as possible.

@@espcustom If you have used the replacement sights of that style on other guns, then you should. I changed all my carry guns for night sights. Helps in low light conditions and program compliance across the board. You should remember that the accuracy is from a handgun at 25yrds. For me, the front sight dot covers the head of a silhouette at that range. If I'm hitting targets in the 6-8" headzone, that's a bullseye in my book. I normally combat hold (cover the target with the frontsight dot). At closer ranges, like 10yrds and under, I think a 2-3" hit is good. You should hit a binder reinforcement sticker at 15ft.

What about buying this as a self defense conceal carry pistol? My apologies, completely new to guns here.

Having a .22 is better than not having a gun at all but it isn’t what most people consider a self defense cartridge. While it CAN kill or incapacitate an attacker, with out an extremely precise shot placement(not likely for even an experienced shooter in a high stress SD situation) it just won’t do it fast enough to stop someone from sticking you with a knife a few times or bashing your head in. I would suggest the smallest effective SD cartridge to be a .380 hollowpoint designed for SD. Honestly though I would just step up slightly to a 9mm because the ammo is cheaper than .380(more training for same cost), it has better terminal ballistics “stopping power”, and there are more choices on what platform you’d like to buy. .380s tend to be little micro single stack pistols with limited capacity used for deep concealment in light clothes(belly bands), a backup gun(ankle holster), or pocket carry(lazy people) lol. A hotter 9mm cartridge in a larger or heavier gun will actually be more pleasurable to shoot than a snappy light and little micro .380. Where this .22 pistol comes into play is it can be used as a trainer to refine fundamentals of pistol shooting(which is the hardest firearm to shoot IMO). You can build good muscle memory by shooting 2-4 times as many rounds as you would with a 9mm for the same price. Just keep in mind the .22 is a good practice and plinker gun but there is no perfect substitute for training with your actual SD firearms. Hope you do well in your search for a SD gun and welcome to the gun community if you choose to move forward with a firearm purchase. Be safe out there!👍🏻🇺🇸

Is it more reliable than the Walther P22? I heard a lot of people say those are picky on ammo. I have a Ruger SR22P and that thing will eat any ammo I throw at it- Lead, hollowpoint, standard velocity, high velocity, I may have even shot some stingers or yellow jackets out of mine.

I can't say anything about the P22 as I don't have any experience with it. I can say the S&W M&P 22 is as reliable as any .22 semi auto that I've shot.

It is certainly accurate enough. There is no reason you couldn't use it for small game or pest.
