I used to work for an airgun retailer (Pellpax) and it does have a Walther barrel and its a pretty good gun for the price. The barrel is what helps make this gun pretty accurate. I could have bought any of the other guns but i wanted one up to the legal limit and didnt want to spend a fortune on a pcp. I have been getting the rats at the bottom of the garden with no trouble whatsoever and my only issue is the safety is badly positioned and a little on the loose side. This time i went for a 177 rather than a 22 and i havent been dissapointed with it at all.
Nice upload Shane, enjoyed hearing about your early days in shooting and cutting your teeth on this manufacturer from years ago.i totally agree with you on the finish of the gun,for 180 smackers it looks the business. I'm sure with your patience and experience you'll be "drilling out" a few of the centre circles as soon as you find the right food for the barrel. Nice one friend, can't wait to watch your upcoming uploads on the sights you mention in this little masterpiece. All the best. Phil.
Thanks Phil, ordered some jsb , exact Diablo pellets, let’s see how they fair , hopefully better than the current ones, if not will clean the barrel, if that doesn’t work then I’ll change the scope , after that I’m gonna do some head scratching,, l o l cheers Shane
I have one of these. It’s not bad. The week I bought it, a mate across the road from me gave me a Weihrauch HW77 with an upgraded spring! Needless to say the XS38 has been out of the bag very little. The SMK is the poor man’s HW77. Mine actually has an off centre cocking lever - it doesn’t quite match up with the lock and I have to move it into place to lock it. Quality isn’t brill to be honest. I’m saying that, it is pretty accurate used with the standard sights. I haven’t tried a scope yet.
Hi there Shane mate , love your videos by the way. I've been looking at this rifle for a while now , and wanted your opinion on being able to use it for pest control ? I'm not bothered by the waight of it , but not concerned about the accuracy ?I'd like to hear your thoughts ?
@@MrPatch25I paid nearly 200 for mine. It’s probably worth 120 imo. My son has a XS15 177 and for 80 quid it is absolutely fantastic. It’s a smaller version for youngsters but I use it a lot and it leaves me with a big grin every time. As for this one - the XS38? Well imho your better off getting the Weihrauch HW77 and it’ll last for life.
The SMK pellets are crap use a decent quality one and they will be easier to group, they really are awful and can turn a half decent gun into a scatter gun!!!
