@@GHSTSTRSCRM Most phones from that time should have OTG support. My main phone is 3 years old Huawei Honor 9 and I still use a Nexus 5 (Android 10) and Galaxy S3 (Android 9) almost daily.

@@GHSTSTRSCRM i still daily a S6 SM-G920p and a iPhone 5 A1429 and tablets and phones my family had since 2013 all supported USB OTG and android begin basiclly linux it has keyboard and mouse support very long ago

Someone once told me their problem was they were primarily a mechatronics (mechanical + electronics) company. The software driven era (mp3 players etc) came along and they were lost, didn't have the expertise. Sony bought Ericsson in order to get a foothold in the mobile market (prior to buying Ericsson they were nobody).

My Z1 Compact is still kicking as well. Somehow it's survived perfectly meanwhile my Z3 was the most fragile thing ever.

Yeah, my XZ bought in 2016 was also a lemon. Front panel started coming off 6 months in use, and the service center didn't even want to totally honour the warranty by claiming I dropped my phone.

I used XZ a few years back. The whole top half of the front panel came off 6 months in use. Sent it to the repair center and got told the adhesive gave way due to drop damage. I never dropped the phone, so I guess my unit was a lemon with poor QC. Warranty only covers the labour costs, while I have to pay for the adhesive since it seemed the Sony technician suspect I dropped my phone. I was too tired to keep arguing with him, but that was the last Sony I bought after years of using Sony phones since SE S700.

@@SMOOREZ just seeing this a year later but thanks, wanted to add too that the new Sony phones are actually really decent, I recently acquired an Xperia 1 mark 2 and it's a super good phone thats not very hard to repair either, I had a z2 previously and it was a pile of garbage, the frame near the charging port is so thin and weak that it easily snaps and when that happens the phone easily bends and the touch stops working or the screen breaks entirely, had this happen 3 times before I sold that piece of junk, also the "20 megapixel" camera only worked on 20mp mode for 2 minutes before overheating and turning off because they didn't design a proper heatsink for it, so you'd be in the middle of filming a video and it would just turn off and wouldn't even save any of the footage either, never thought I'd find another Sony phone that I liked but I am very impressed with their new offerings, this phone is super solidly built, cameras are very good, battery life is great and hell they even kept the headphone jack all these years later, if you have a chance to try one out I'd highly recommend it

@@brando12343 i have a z3, the phone is literally amazing apart from the camera heating bs, thats the only part where the phone warns you about overheating which sucks mine has a 2.5cm long scratch near the top left corner, its almost like a crack but touch works fine. for only 60 bucks i dont regret it. i also recently learned you can press the screen in and press the back cover in with some force to fix a stuck volume button

You may have the one single unit out there that doesn't have the issue. Every one I have come across with cracked glass is usually dead. One or two had partial touch.

Their failure rate was pretty high for the Z lineup. Just a whole bunch of issues here and there. I have come across a few units (ones that were working) that had camera issues. A Z5 Compact I had was just stuck and couldn't focus.

But I would aim to try and move the phone on to someone who would use it... They wouldn't want to use it with a mouse dangling from it all the time lol

@@SMOOREZ very late reply but my uncle used to have a z1, cracked it and he used a little otg mouse with him on the go to use it 😂
