To this day I've never seen Hayataro get a proper attack off or even get its affinities checked, he just sits in the corner as the Press Turn System prevents him from following orders. I've always liked the concept of a boss that uses items accessible to the player (heck, they added that to a *certain boss* in the Paper Mario TTYD remake which I won't spoil), but said boss should also not fall under pressure so quickly to allow the concept to exist, which makes me think was the reason for him going first in the normal Boss Fight.
Yeah, no idea why he goes first why Abdiel does in the joint fight with Dazai and her. Although, ultimately, they both make the same goddamn mistake of trying to shake all my characters off with Satan just draining all damage lol.
I think for Atsuta, they could have given him "Safeguard" as a passive in this battle (seriously, do none of the bosses have this as a skill or a passive exclusive to them?) so Hayataro could get a chance to act.
@@kaiserkreuz2110 If not Safeguard, something related to their weak point could also work. I like how Mitra-Buddha had a passive that upped all his stats by one when you struck his weakness. (it was called Self-Righteous Wow) I think something interesting could be done with the concept of weaknesses other than just being a damage increase and turn generation tool. (obviously not like Ancient of Days or Sanat, where the former fully heals and latter just presses the "I win." button when the weakness is struck.)
@@flynn1545 Mastema has that, and also as an ally: everytime you hit him with a Critical or a Fire (weakness) move, he gets one press turn added for his side. Lucifer (Dark) also has this thing where when he crits or strikes a weakness, he sends the struck demon in the stock (which is super annoying and got me killed when I was doing the boss rush at level 500...) although that's more something on his side. Trying to think what demons have good defensive innates, but I don't see anything worthwhile in the database...
@@kaiserkreuz2110 I don't know how hard it will be fighting him at lvl 999 even with stats 999 but the Chaos boss fight after de Qaditsu summon was so hard in 1 cycle because of his unique skill
