Part 5: • Smush Parker on Bondin...
Part 3: • Smush Parker: I Wouldn...
Part 1: • Smush Parker on Being ...
--------
Smush Parker revisits a turbulent time in his basketball career, echoing his previous thoughts on Kobe Bryant and clarifying his subsequent responses. Parker made headlines in 2007 when he stated playing for the Lakers with Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant was "overrated." The lack of guidance and personal interaction with Bryant led Parker to this conclusion along with his perception that Lakers over-idolized Bryant. This statement incited Bryant to publicly label Parker as his "worst teammate ever." Parker contends his comments were based on factual experiences and not emotions or opinions. Despite the clashes and controversies, Parker admits that they continued to professionally coexist, focusing on victory for the Lakers. Parker continues to express his respect for Bryant's unrivaled commitment to winning but maintains his disapproval of how Bryant treated people.

Kobe played with some bad teammates, but he seems to have a disproportionate amount of hate for Smush. My only explanation for this as a fan that watched him and the Lakers during those years is that those were the years Kobe was most frustrated in his career. He was at his absolute prime and was desperate to win rings without Shaq, but he felt like the Lakers were not giving him the teammates he needed to win. He even asked to be traded during those times. I think he saw and continued to see Smush as like the main example of how the Lakers as an org weren't serious about winning during that time. He felt like they should be trying to give him a PG like Steve Nash or something, but instead they give him Smush Parker. So his hate is not really personal as much as he sees Smush as like a symbol and reminder of a frustrating time in his playing career. It's quite unfair.

Naw Kobe strived to be like Jordan in every way. He even began to emulate a lot of Jordan's mannerisms, a Kobe as a person like Jordan was a world class grade "A" asshole, and in the end he got exactly what he deserved. In his death the disrespect him and his family received from the LA County Sheriff's Department, was Karma and much well deserved!!! What exactly was Steve Nash going to add to the Lakers equation??? I'll tell you, exactly what he did when he finally arrived in LA. Smush Parker is definitely not the worst teammate that Kobe Bryant has ever played with. The Lakers got more out of Smush Parker than they did out of Steve Nash!! Kobe Bryant the basketball player is phenomenal. Kobe Bryant the person is a horrible monster!! The world is definitely a better place without Kobe Bryant the person!!!☹️👎🏿

Let's be real here. Kobe wasn't a great teammate. He didn't get his team involved or pass the ball. James Harden and Westbrook have more assist than him. Let that marinate and cook slow. He always wanted to ball in clutch moments even though he wasn't clutch. Argue witcha momma that stats back me up. He snitched on Shaq on live TV to cover himself. Has been known to shoot his team out of games but throwing up shots even though he's not hitting (back to the assist deal). Another thing. Smush may be a good person and the same with kobe. But maybe at that time there was a conflicting of personalities. Some peoole dont want you to really get to know them until they really know who you are, and as a defense mechanism they may come off as an asshole. Remember there are many players in the nba from humble to more outspoken players who never had nothing bad to say about kobe for the most part. There were also teammates less talented then smush if not the same who were not punks who liked kobe. So this right here tells you its something deeper between the two.

Looking at Smush's career stats, Kobe wasn't wrong. The Lakers told him they were building a contender after Shaq left, then gave him a starting PG who averaged 3 points and 1 assist the year before in Detroit. I kinda get why Kobe was mad.

If Smush was so good and just mistreated by Kobe why didn't he do anything else after he left LA? Some of us actually watched basketball during those times. He barely played on terrible Heat and Clipper teams then was out of the league. Wonder what excuses he will have as to why that didn't work out

Bro, I understand that you and Kobe didn't get along. If I were you and had the slight chance of playing with Kobe, I would have became a sponge... I would've showed up to practice early to learn everything from him! In fact, the practice facility would've became my safe heaven. Kobe would've gotten so mad at me for showing dedication than him 🤣🤣🤣 It looks like Kobe only respected people who had that hunger 😢

Everyone upset now about how Kobe treated smush but the fact is that Kobe admired dedication and hard work. Listening to smush i can tell he tried to go against the grain, not realizing we all have a role in life. Kobe was the boss of the team, just like mj, lebron, and list of all other greats. I think he didnt like kobe as a person and figured he was going to kind of do things his way. It definitely had something to do with his personality or work ethic on the court, because derek fisher wasnt no "a" level player and wasnt no punk and him and kobe got along fine, along with other good players. So it hard to believe that kobe was on some power trip, but maybe the problem was him. And of course im not saying kobe was perfect.

1. Being dead doesn’t change reality or the facts. It’s dishonest to revise history to appease a dead person. 2. These are Smush Parker’s experiences, and these experiences impacted his career. That man can tell his story. 3. If Kobe was concerned about how he would be remembered and spoken of in death, then he had his entire life to shape that legacy - for good, bad, or whatever. 4. Your actions to others matter, and they linger long after you leave.

Those (2) years after Shaq left he bares total responsibility for those bad teams cause he was more concerned with outdoing Shaq. He averaged 35ppg but the scouting report on him was let him shoot his team out of the game cause he will keep shooting
