Here are my techniques and procedures for fitting and installing the quarterpanels (or fenders) on the Smyth Performance MK4 and MK5 Jettas. A little bit of discussion on rocker panels/door sills and installing the roll pan.
Yup that's where I'm at,perfect timing! I'm doing the "under fender" things like tie downs , speaker holes, cabin vents and taillight wiring. Did I forget anything? I always feel like I'm forgetting something because that panelbond is darn near permanent 😁 I filled the cab to fender gaps slightly so it looks more like a normal door gap,as I want to avoid the cracking issues I e seen if it's filled. Since I did that, it's looking like I have to put the cab surround on first as I can't slide it in over the fenders thickness. And like a snowball,that seemed to make other issues,like it'll be tricky (but doable) to get plenty of panelbond at the top front of the fenders for proper sealing. I certainly picked up a lot of info from this vid that is going to make that final install somewhat easier,thank you.
