I'm a stickler for an all endings attempt. It feels like there's added dedication to sharing the game with us when someone goes for them all. Not saying he isn't dedicated to it, just that it feels like an express statement of dedication when all endings are sought out. XD
I've always kinda fallen on the other side of that fence. Like on the one hand it's practical purposes I assume, Chris plays a LOT of frigging games, time is probably just a factor. But on the other hand, sometimes I actually want to try out the games he plays, and ones with multiple endings, I'm happier not seeing them all so I can have a go and find them myself.
I think we need more weird horror, honestly, so I'm all for this! I didn't mind the color, and the other stuff going on - I think sometimes that makes the horror hit all the harder because you forgot where you were.
Its a game within a game. But medieval times are when things moved from feudalism into early capitalism, so while things changed after the industrial revolution in a major way, the economic systems of now and then weren't so drastically different that it's an issue to the game, imo. Maybe I'm missing what the particular issue is, if you could expound upon that. To me, it's more the thought of technology being more modern and the concept of ads, which lends itself to that, but as said, it's a game within a game, so that may be the point. It seems to be part of the point. It's surely self-aware in its presentation, at least.
@@Honey_Daddy Mercantilism isnt early capitalism. It was an important stepping stone, but it was very different to even the infant stages of capitalism. And it was drastically different purely due to how they didnt have stuff like expedited travel that capitalism in the 1800nth century hinged on.
@@Honey_Daddy Now all that aside Would it really be that difficult to do a non modern home?? Like muck around with the economic system if you want but really?? Not even a lil bit of a hovel here and there?
There are so many person walking around being stalked or existential crisis/repressed memory games that I thought this was an absolute gem. Really interesting an fun but so frustrating that you didn’t get the alternative endings!
This really blew my mind in the best way! I love management games and horror so finding a way to mesh the two together so well was just delicious! I think the relative calmness of daytime really adds to the looming threat at nightfall, highs are more effective with lows and all. You rock Stanislav! Please please do a video with the other endings! I'm sure seeing those will only further illustrate how many layers this game has. Thanks Chris for showcasing this gem in any case!
Woohoo an hour+ long indie horror video to pass the time at work until lunch. Thanks Edit: Game was hella cool too. Would love to see an "extra" video with the other endings.
It was very entertaining, especially because it is not a typical horror game. Please post another with the alternate endings, I really want to see what happens when you open the giant door!
This was actually a badass game! I'm very impressed! The jump scares and atmosphere were allowed to breath and feel more organic. I hope to see them continue this game/style.
Well, _that_ was interesting and different! Definitely illustrating the wages of capitalism run rampant...but in a _fun_ way. 😶🤣 The premise is unusual, and the juxtaposition between an empire-building game and the horror game elements is unique. I also like how much is going on. I truly appreciate Stanislaw experimenting with something new. And, now, I'm looking forward to that terrible indie horror game you promised. 😆
This was absolutely amazing!!! I loved the unique ideas and how different this was to other horror games. I want to see more to be honest I could watch this as a series!! The jumpscares were perfectly executed and got me every time without ever feeling cheap. This was definitely refreshing!!
I LOVE this, I'm typically too much of a scardy cat to play the games you showcase on this channel but I'm actually considering playing this for myself. I really love games that focus on exploring and collecting so this is very up my alley!
Really interesting idea! I was really into it waiting what would be the end. A concept to level up your economy to see more scares? Glamorous... And lots of small anticapitalist commentary I liked. I would also love to see what are the other endings and what was in that shed. But even if you would leave it here I'm totally OK with that.
really novel premise as far as 'haunted games' go, decent scares that were placed really well the higher quality rigged model's movements juxtaposed with the lower graphic style definitely made it creepier and the jpeg face serving as a red herring like "oh that's all it is" was a nice touch , the depth of the story excused the minimal gameplay in my opinion, it's not shallow though either, cool experience in all
I loved this game, super unique experience, and as a viewer I was consistently curious about what would happen next. I actually think some open world game developers could learn a bit from some of the kind of "set piece" sequences that make the world feel consistently threatening.
This was a really cool concept I don’t think I’ve seen before. Loved watching it too. It has enough going on with the jump scares and story to enjoy. I’d love to see all endings.
The scares it had were good but I feel it needed more atmospheric horror to balance the Minecraft-like environment. As for the gameplay, I love when developers try something new instead of using all the standard horror tropes. The world was cool but it felt empty/lonely? Maybe after hiring all the workers, lawyers, accountants etc….they actually manifest into the game world walking around. That way it would be much more effective seeing them disappear one by one because of Snafu. There’s more suggestions I could make, but I think this is already too long for anyone to wanna read. ❤Love your channel CJU!!
I LOVED this game; it's become one of my favs. I loved everything about it, the bright colors, the premise, all the things that need doing, the night vs day, both characters (yup, SNAFU got me twice), and Chris' great delivery. I hope Stanislav makes more like this.
Considering that your main thing is horror I'd also watch a series of resident evil 4 remake when it comes. The graphics look amazing. You do good work keep it up.
Yesterday: I think I'll skip the bathroom for now. Today: This game needs a bathroom. The horror element to this game is definitely there, but it's something only fans of RPGs an idle/clicker games can appreciate - the constant, mind-numbingly slow grind just to get to the next slow grind. And for that, this game really does do well. I actually have played games somewhat similar to this one in past, but I really like the execution. Is it for everyone? No, of course not. But if you've ever spent hours on end grinding just so you can beat that next boss or to unlock the next goodie, SNAFU really is terrifying in its own right. I really hope Stanislav continues to experiment and break away from the stereotypical tropes that horror games have fallen victim to in recent years (at least we're past the brief era of "jumpscares equal horror" games). And for only $5 USD, there really is a lot here to love.
I really enjoyed watching you play this unique game! It indeed breaks the typical horror game genre with the typical plot, however, the occasional scares were all effective and it kinda breaks the fourth wall in a way. I really hope you start recording another playthrough of the same game, like a part two, to collect more stuff and get other endings, my curiosity always make me search up other RU-vidrs to see the other endings but of course it'll be better if I don't have to, right?? and I think other people would love to see you play this again based on the other comments, maybe consider it? Anyway, stay safe out there!
Please play again! I’d love to see other endings and more of the world explored! The possibility of Snafu sneaking up on you kept me on edge. Especially at night. So much fun to watch!
I'm quite surprised to hear you say at the end you were less happy with it, I thought it was amazing! Quite a new take on idol games and very effective jumpscares
This is a really great game. Kudos to Stanislaw for the creative concept and design. The subtle commentary on capitalism, the design and charisma of the monster--just a really excellent work.
Would DEFINITELY be interested in seeing you try this game again to get a better ending - or both of them! Awesome playthrough CJU. Really enjoyed this. Very cool game.
I enjoyed watching this playthrough a lot more than i think although, like you had mentioned the horror can get lost from time to time, but when its happening it does really well, especially the jumpscares. I feel like sometimes for a horror game, the player does not have to be engaged in a intense atmosphere or feeling on edge throughout the game. It does seems a bit weird to merge a horror game with a management mechanics, but it is more refreshing compared to just collecting pages. Would love to see the other endings too!
That was SO!!!!! COOL!!!!! Omg that was different and scary and a little bit weird - brilliant, if you ask me! I very much enjoyed watching this and it definitely scared me good a couple times! THank you so much for playing!!
I absolutely loved this! Idle mixed with horror, it was amazing! The scares were all well placed and worked, the story was good, the visuals were fitting. I would love to see the other endings! Thanks for playing this, Chris!
I've loved all of his games! This was a great game to watch, and I get the feeling that there's a lot still left, especially story oriented. You should make another video with the other endings!
This was amazing, honestly. I'd love to see you go for the other two endings. It was such a unique and fun take on your typical horror. Wont affect everyone, but the idea each night that snafu is around the corner watching you sends shivers down my spine. The jumpscares were very well placed, and relatively tasteful (and that's a big compliment from me. I find jumpscares cheap and lazy generally).
I really enjoyed this game, the scares were good, I liked the simplicity of it yet the little plot that went down in the world thrived. Thanks for playing this little game ^^
I would say this is Stanislav's best game so far. Inspired, i would say by 'The Game' in some respects,.. A wonderful little blend of atmosphere, paranoia, unsettling glitches in 'the game',.. and even a lovable little character in Ali Baba. Theres a lot packed into an hour-ish long game here,..I loved the World, the colours, even the depressed nihilistic NPC's. a beautiful mix of Fantasy/RPG/SIM and Horror. With a bigger budget and more polish, this could have been a game that stretched to a full length adventure. Well done, to Stanislav, and thank you so much for showcasing this and playing it with your usual aplomb, Chris.
This is a great game imo. The only thing that's lost is the intensity of the horror, because you know you are playing a game, and you know that there is no threat whatsoever to the protagonist's life. They can always stop playing the game and the horror stops there.
I very much enjoyed watching you play this, the game kind of keeps you wondering what will happen next. I agree that the horror is fairly sparse but usually well executed when the horror does pop up, which could also be because of how sparse those moments are.
I personally really liked this and ended up wanting to make sure I watched it all. It took me 5 days or smth to finish bc I wanted to take my time and focus on it all lolol I don't know why, it just held my attention so hard. Thanks for playing !!
Very, very, veeeery cool. A little more danger and/or enemies thrown at you with some McGyvering of weapons would have been a nice touch. Keep this Dev on your list.
Ah hell yes. I really enjoyed watching this. You normally upload when I'm getting up for the day, so longer videos are great. While I take care of house work. : P Even better when I come back to watch them fully later.
I have to admit that I found the first half of the game SUPER slow. I had to keep pausing the video and going back to it. But the second half felt like it picked up and got really interesting. I appreciate that you played this. Thanks a bunch for the video!
It was not perfect, but pretty entertaining. It was funny how quickly you went from caution to "photograph the thing for profit" and started aggressively hunting out the ghost. I like seeing creators try different things and I think the dev did great
This was a great game! I watched your let's play almost right when you released it after getting home from work, and it caught me by complete surprise. Like you said, it's unlike anything else I've seen from a game, and while I do wish it leaned a bit more into the horror aspect direction-wise, I was very pleased overall with the direction of the game. I loved the art direction and the mixture into economic capitalism in order to progress within the game, and advancing the story. Aside from my wish for more horror, I'd also liked to have seen more character interaction than the more limited amount that we saw. Even so, I was happy to see a game experiment in the manner that it did. Thankfully, it seems most of your audience is in agreement that this game was enjoyable. I know at the end of the video, you stated that you had some misgivings about the reception of this game, in that it could be split evenly into those that liked and didn't like the game. Anyway, as always, pleasure to watch your videos!
Loved this game. It was good to watch, just as you asked. I can see where this was fun to play for you. A different type of game, and I love that as well.
I really enjoyed this. It was a unique and interesting world. I would love to know the other endings and see what is beyond the SSS door. Thank you for sharing it.
honestly, this is the only playthrough channel I find interesting nowadays, cool content and amazing consistency ❤️ every video is almost therapeutic to watch. very happy I found this channel
One for the album, he says, snapping a picture of dangling dead bodies…. Seriously, though, I like this developer‘s games but wasn‘t sure about this one from the description at the beginning. However I really enjoyed it! I suspect it was half the game and half your commentary but whatever, it was all good - thanks.
If you ever are willing, I totally would be interested in seeing you try for the other endings. I feel this was very interesting, and just like imscared I'd be very interested to see what else the game has in store beyond this ending with your commentary.
